This is a 2002 35 watt 1 X 12" combo amp based on the Fender Tweed Pro (class A) circuit. There are three knobs - tone, volume for the bright channel and volume for the normal channel. The volume knobs are also interactive, which provides for a much wider sweep of eq and gain. There are no additional channels, effects loops, headphone jacks or other "extras." However, mine included the built-in three-knob reverb tank which rests inside the chasis. The reverb is also controllable via a Fender-style footswitch.
Please understand - this thing does not need "bells and whistles." It is a pure tone machine! There is plenty of power for ANY playing scenario (this amp is basically the Clark Beaufort with a larger power tranformer for higher wattage) and every guitar I've played through it sounds gorgeous.
BTW, the speaker is a Mojotone Black Beauty. I honestly don't think there is a finer speaker for the money available. Check 'em out.

I play a 1997 Fender Strat Deluxe with Kinman Blues pickups and a 1999 Fender Toronado with a Duncan Custom humbucker in the bridge and a Fralin hum-cancelling single coil in the neck. The Penrose has plenty of clean headroom with the Strat or I can add various amounts of natural power tube overdrive through the interactive volume control. VERY bell-like, classic Strat tones at any volume. When I change guitars, the Toronado sounds like it is in a completely different amp. The humbuckers generate as much distortion as I would ever want, yet every string remains articulate and chimey. In addition, this amp loves fuzz pedals. My Fulltone SoulBender has come alive through the Clark.
With this amp I can dial in the settings I want, and then play BOTH guitars interchangeably and use the guitar's volume control for every nuance of volume and gain I want. There is no need for channel switching or tons of pedals - it's all there in the amp!
Did I mention that this is hands-down the best reverb I've ever heard? I wasn't even a big reverb fan until I heard this amp. I've never been more confident of a '10' rating...

Though my amp is quite new, I would stake my reputation on the indestructibility of it! I've been to the Clark warehouse several times and I've seen nearly every variety of retro-style boutique amp in there. There is no comparison in terms of craftsmanship, parts and soldering. Mr. Clark gets the absolutely FINEST parts money can buy and builds these units point-to-point. You can tell these are the best just by looking at it! Not to mention the tone...

I live close enough to visit the Clark warehouse and I have had the honor of becoming friends with Michael and his staff. They made me want to give them my business with their dedication to superior amp-making and their kindness. These are genuinely "good people" running a small business with pride and passion. They continue to take interest in my amp and I am convinced they will do whatevery it takes to maintain a satisfied customer.

I've been playing for 17 years on various guitars and amps. I finally decided to get an amp I would be satisfied with for the rest of my playing days. Truly, this is it. I compared with a number of similar brands, including Victoria, Kendrick, Carr, Dr. Z, Fender, Vox, Marshall... At the end of the research, I felt very confident about going with the Clark. If you want pure tube tone, you need to give these guys a call - they'll help you determine the perfect fit for you.
