This is a brand new model that craig and I came up with(mostly Craig). It is his first model.I have serial #001. It is a 30 watt fixed bias tweed amp w/2-12" Weber speakers. A 12A150B alnico& a 12F150B ceramic speaker. The big difference of this tweed amp is that it has a full tone stack + presence w/ interactive negative feedback pot( more on that later ).It has a solid pine cabinet w/tweed covering.

Sound Quality : 10
Here's where the amp shines. Most tweed amps don't have much more than a treble/bass tone control. This amp has a complete tone stack, treble, bass, mids, and presence with a negative feedback pot.Tweaking the presence in conjuction w/ the nf pot, allows you to hit a sweet spot, regardless of volume. You would think that having a tone stack on a tweed amp would rob it of tone, but it is just the opposite. You can dial in more low end , mids , or treble than you could possibly need, but you can udjust it to exactly what you need, without sacrificing even an ounce of that coveted tweed tone! It cleans up nicely, when you back off the guitars volume knob. Using both a guitar w/ p-90's and a tele, you could really hear the differeces like never before.I picked the Weber 12A150B & 12F150B speakers. I highly recommend these. The alnico compresses and gets sweet at mid to higher volumes. While the ceramic speaker has a nice tight low end. Both speakers have plenty of mids and high end sparkle. They both get a huge low end and I think that is more the amp than the speakers. The great thing about the amp is that it gets a great sound with readily available tubes.2- JJ 6L6's and 3-12ax7's & a 5U4 rectifier tube(not sure of the brand).

Reliability : 9
Well it's probably too early to say, but the amp is built with the best possible parts and the workmanship is great. The cabinet is built the way a tweed amp is supposed to be built. If I had to guess, I would say that this amp will probably outlast me.I'll give it just a nine, but it probably deserves an eleven.

Customer Support : 10
I contacted Craig Collin of Collins Amplification the end of august. It took about 2 month to get the amp built built. Craig answered all of my e-mails within one day and most of the time within the hour. I talked on the phone with him 3 or 4 times and he always was in a great mood and very helpful. I have no doubt that if a problem does arise, Craig will do whatever it takes to make it right.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing guitar for 40 years and have had other amps built by other builders with good results.Craig definately belongs to an elite group of master amp builders, and seemed to know about every aspect of amp buiding. Of all the amps I have had built , this one seems to stand out. I know that no amp is perfect, but I don't know what you'd have to do to build a better amp, regardless off price.By the way, his prices are very fair. If lost or stolen, I would call Craig, tell him to drop everything, and build me another one!
