The Carrera is the latest adition to the Cornford range. It is a self bias valve amp at around 5-8 watt rating. The amp produces lots of headroom for clean tones for such a small power rating and overdriven is sweet, fat, & clear. It is single channel. It is designed as a recording amp but doubles nicely for practise and bedroom playing. It is fitted with a EL84 AND a 6L6, either of which can be switched in or out or changed for other valves at the drop of a hat. This means that a pro studio musician could access lots of sounds by carrying one amp and a selection of valves, without the need for major cartedge/multi-amp set ups.
This is serious the best amp I have ever heard. I,ve owned, borrowed or played Boogie, Marshall, Badcat,Peavey, Laney, Fender, Vox & Proamp..in my opinion this beats the lot handsdown although it is definatly not the most instantly flexible unit I have owned.
I am so impressed with this amp I,m getting it's larger sister amp, THE HURRICANE to gig with.

Using a Tyler & Tom Anderson I,m experiencing a quality of tone I,ve not experienced before. Clean sounds are crisp, clear but fat and smooth. Overdrives are sweet, fat but transparent and not Fizzy.
The unit it quiet..at #999 I expect it to be.
Check out the Cornford web sight for audible tones.

Very good company for product but I think they are so busy they cannot, or at least don,t seem to spend time to listen carefully to your adverage punter if you contact them directly. I felt that I quite didn't get what I expected because I ordered this unit blind as it hadn't been produced at the time. Having said that I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with the amp and in anycase it,s down to the retailer to service a prospect not the factory.

I,ve been playing for 31 years albeit with a 8 year break. I wish Cornford had been available back then..I would have saved myself a lot of money. I don,t think I'll ever be happy playing anything but a Cornford now.
If this amp were lost I would replace it immediatly.
I do wish Cornford would offer a different colour to Oxblood as this is not the nicest colour for my home.
