YOU CAN ELIMINATE THE HISS BY DISCONNECTING THE TWEETER WITHOUT MUCH SOUND QUALITY LOSS!!!
I need to replace the speakers because on of them is blown and Crate probably doesn't use the best quality out there to begin with. I found a place in town that usually carries 8" Eminence Alpha 8 speakers and I've read good things about those, so they will be going in next week. Any sound problems - might want to consider swapping the speakers out, AND DEFINATELY DISCONNECT ONE OF THE TWEETER WIRES TO GET RID OF THE HISS!!!
Just pop the front grate from behind with a ruler or something. It is connected with velcro in the corners and fits fairly tight. I used a ruler to push on the corners and it slid out with a little pressure.

Amp is packed with features. Reverb, chorus, tons of control over the tonal output (channel eq plus an overall amp eq), an XLR in if you can sing, plus an XLR out for plugging your modified sound directly into a sound board - and that even comes with a volume control. Pretty cool in this area! Has three separate inputs!

I play music in my church. My two amped guitars are an Ovation Balladeer (1980 model - bought new) and a 2002 Taylor 614 CE. The unit really sounds great while it is reproducing sound, with a separate amp for each channel, plus a third for the treble. My only issue is how it sounds when you AREN'T playing it! It has a pretty nasty hiss. This really scared the heck out of me the first time I bought it home (not very evident in the music store, but you will notice it in your bedroom when you practice!). I bought it used, so it had no manual. I went to crate's website and downloaded a PDF of the manual. The trick seemed to be to get the input signal up real high and keep the main volume low (i.e. a highest possible signal to noise ratio). This seemed to quiet it down to a relatively resonable level. On stage with all the other junk getting noisy, might not be much of an issue.

I bought it used, it looks a little abused, and it still sounds like a new one (I heard they all hiss a little). No sweat here. I would gig it without a backup.

I think if you can find one used, it is worth the cash. I definitely would have been pissed if I paid the 600 to 700 some folks have parted with, and it hissed like it does. If I had to go new, I would definitely have picked the Fender Acoustasonic Jr at around $399 to $425. It's not quite as nice while it is playing, but at least it isn't hissing at you when it's not. However, plan on paying an additional $30 to $50 for a direct box to get it into a PA, and lugging that around with you if you buy the Fender!

I bought my CA125 three years ago and I have played Clubs to private parties and it has done the job. I use mostly just one chanel, but have used all three at once and the sound is always clear and clean.
The only problem I have with it is the weight, but it can do the job and thats what counts.

I have used all my guitars with it (Martin, Taylor, Gibson, ovation, and my J6 archtop Wasburn which as humbucker. I do alot of cover from Country,Blues to Rock-N-Roll and even some Spanish. The only time I get any noise is feedback and thats anly when I'm playing a small gig and the Amp is close.

I purchased this amp about two years ago brand new, however it is at least three years old. It offers a rather impressive amount of options and features, including analog reverb, chorus and a mono effects loop. The guitar channel has its own eq and LED indicator, and the other channels are controlled by the master EQ. THe three channels are one for a guitar, one mic channel and a secondary instrument channel.

I didn't really care for the sound this amp gave for a long time. Only within the last six months have I learned to get a good tone from it. I rarely use a mic through it however, I often plug a cd player or bass guitar through the other two channels. My Fender jazz bass sounded better than my acoustic at first. My acoustic guitar is a 1995 Gibson Chet Atkins SST. If you ask me this amp cannot really handle this guitars HOT electronics.

I have not yet dealt with Crate directly, but the dealer I bought this amp through highly praises their customer service so I just take his word for it.

I have been playing bass for about seven years and guitar for three, (generally acoustic). I play a heavy rythm, but not really very loud. THis amp has many features and volume to spare. THe independant tweeter adjustment is great because otherwise it would be too peircing. THis amp is okay for coffee houses or a bar but I really prefer running directly through the PA system whenever possible. I bought this amp because I got it for almost half price, but if I were to buy another acoustic amp brand new, I would buy the Marshall or Trace Elliot. For the money they're just better.

My CA 125 is about 2-3 years old. I use it primarily for Taylor acoustic guitar sound reinformcent. Read lit. for features. Best features are the ability to get clear -clean acoustic guitar sound. I use the amp in church, gigs, bluegrass, country settings. It has plenty of power and is typically lined out through sound systems so its serves as monotor but so strong enought to stand alone too.

Play Taylor with Fischman electronics on acoustic guitar. Sometimes run a mic for vocals and Mandolin. Really nice sound clean. Reverb amd chorus are not very impressive though. I tend to run it clean. EQ works well.

If lost I would by the D series of same amp to get better reverb/chrous effects. Spring reverb is not impressive on acoustic guitar.

It has one channel. It has a guitar input, mic input, and a other input for a cd player or a drum machine. This amp can be used in living room jam sessions or I even use it in my church of 300 people sometimes and it gets to the back of the room with out a problem.

Im using an Ibanez Acoustic. I play all types of acoustic through it,it even sounds great with my electric. You wont be able to get this amp to distort. It's the best acoustic sound I've gotten out of anything.

I've been playing for 7 years. If it was stolen I would probally buy the Rack Amp instead. It is only around $100 and I am moving toward rack equipment now.
