The DSP effects were a big point for me. I compared with other amps w/o effects, and they were just "boring" by comparison. You get slap, delay, echo, chorus, rotary, chorus+hall, room, and hall. I would rather the effects knob be "notched", stopping on each effect. It is hard to stop on a particular effect. The effects level knob lets you dial in the effects to your taste. It has a contour knob, which I can't figure out: it is supposed to adjust the midpoint of the midrange. I can't tell that it makes any difference, honestly. I wish this amp had a headphone jack. The line out DOES NOT work as a headphone jack.

Sound quality is awesome. Warm and deep. Surprising for such a small amp. Again, the effects and effects level help you dial in a great 3D sound.

Dunno. I hear good things about Crate amps. I was originally looking for a Behringer, but the guy at Guitar Center said Crates were much more reliable.

I would replace it if stolen. My only niggles are that the effects knob isn't notched, and no headphone jack. It would also be nice if the two channels had separate EQ, but that's probably impossible at this price point. I use it with my HD-28 and a Dean Markley ProMag Grand in one channel and a Dean Markley Artist Transducer in the other. I get warmth and depth from the ProMag, and crisp bite from the Artist. I also use the Artist pickup on my classical and mando, and it sounds great.

I recently bought a Crate CA30DG acoustic amplifer. It has the usual full feature 30 watt RMS output with the full assortment of channel switching and special effects.

I use it with a Martin HD28 guitar with a Dean Markley pickup. The resulting sound quality if excellent. It adds a new dimension to acoustic guitar playing and sounds. The Crate makes ballads, gospel and other moderate beat music sound like it's being played on a fine piple organ.

Since I've only had it a couple of days, it's hard to know reliaility. This is my first Crate amplifier, as well. It certainly seems well built, however.
For it's size it is certainly heavy to say the least. I may end up using a luggage cart drag it around. It helps to center it in my car on a trip to minimize vehicle lean. (just kidding)

I've been playing (and I use this term loosely) an acoustic guitar for around a year. I immediately fell in love with the sound of this amplifier. It is truly a legitimate enhancement to any fine instrument.
Only drawback - heavy as lead. Wish it had wheels and a retractable pull handle.
Performance-wise, truly amazing !

the only reason this didnt get a 10 on features is it does not have seperate bass and treb. knob for the mic input if it were stolen I would get another one right away. I compared this amp to fender/ acoustisonic 30 a marshal as50 a peavey acoustic amp a berringger a stage works and a roland ac 60 the roland was the only one I thought was better with more natural sound but it also cost two times more so for the money this is the real deal

I bought this at the House of Giotars in Rochester New York (best music shop in the world!) during the guitar expo. I compared it to Peavey, Fender, and Behringer. Although the others may have had other features that seemed nice to have, the crate blew them all away in sound. This to me is the most important. I can't imagine not having this amp.
