Made in the early 80's. Very versatile from clean jazz to classic rock. 2 channels. No reverb (wish it had it). I use it home practice and recording. Very loud for such a small amp.

Mainly play blues and classic rock. No noise, dead quiet! clean channel crystal clear at high volumes. Distortion good, excellent for classic rock.

I've been playing for 20+ years, this was the first amp I ever bought. If lost or stolen I would try to find another. It can hold its own against anything its size.

It's a small 1 x 10" solid state amp. I called Crate and they tell me that my amp was made in the early '80s. This is meant to be an entry level amp for beginners. Versatility is not it's strong point. I lean heavily toward blues and classic rock. It gives me a little of both. Essentially it has two channels, clean and overdrive. Power out of this little amp is around 15 watts. It is a small practice amp and that is what I use it for. Just sitting at home in the basement, practicing. It is perfect for what it is designed for.

I run a Fender Strat through it and it sounds pretty good for a solid state. Clean blues with a little O/D from my pedal sounds pretty good. This amp is dead quiet. No hum or annoying "tube hiss". The dirty channel is "ok". It has that classic brittle, buzziness that S/S amps are famous for. It's not bad though. I give it a 9 for clean and a 6 for dirty.

Reliability? It is a tank! This thing is almost 20 years old and has absolutely ZERO defects. I bet I could park my car on it and it would barely scratch it. I am convinced it is bulletproof.

Crate is not on the top ten list of customer friendly companies. BUT, they did answer my calls and emails fairly promptly. Usually within a week. Obviously this amp is WAY beyond warranty repair, but it will NEVER need repair! Did I mention it is built like a tank?

I have been playing for about 15 years off and on. This is one of the first amps I started on. It is by no means a "great" amp. It does what is is designed to do. Play/learn. If you want to spend a couple hundred dollars for "tube tone", go do it. If you want to just sit and play with a RELIABLE, cheap amp, then buy one of these. I see them on eBay occasionally for around $45-$50. If this was stolen I would be heartbroken because I have had it so long. I would definitely find another one. It fits my lazy, goof-off playing style perfectly.

When I bought it I just was starting out, but even now Its ok. The reasons are mostly because it is portable and very tuff. Because this is just a small practice amp it doesnt have any effects loops, but it does have two channels one for overdrive and another clean channel that can be switched on the system. This amp has 50 watts max wich is plenty for the 10" speaker. Finally this amp mabye fairly cheap but its but you get a sturdy amp for what you pay for. As for overall sound "so so"

It handles grunge and even some heavier styles "with a lot of power behind it but its ok" On the overdrive channel it is somewhat noisy, but that is usually only in small spaces in wich the guitar is close. As for distortion it stayes clean at high levels and with certain peddals has some nice thump even with single coil pickups.
