To get the most out of this amp, change the horrible speaker. It sounds ok at low volumes, but nasty when you turn up. I recommend the Eminence Governor which tames the highs while increasing punch and warmth for solos. Some would argue that this is too expensive a speaker ($80) for such a cheap amp. You're already into the amp for $300 - do you think think you could sell it for anywhere near this much? I say put in the extra $$ and be amazed at the tonal change.

This is a 65 watt solid state amp with a 12 inch speaker and effects. It has 3 channels, a foot switch and an external speaker jack. I use this amp at home and once in a studio. It is a very loud amp. OH yeh, one feature that I love is the built in tuner on the amp.

On the clean channel it sounds great. The reverb is also nice. I do not like the distortion at all, but I use my boss MT-2 so I don't use the amps distortion anyway. The other effects are ok. This amp is very loud and if you use your own effects it is a great amp for the price.

I've been playing about 5 years and this is my 3rd amp. I have a 30 watt marshall that sounds better than this amp, but if you want twice the power for about the same price, this amp is for you. Sounds great as long as you don't use the distortion. This amp is loud enough to hear over a drum set.

Made in 2003/2004. 65 watt Solid state, 3 channels, effects loop that requires a stereo to mono y- cable, extension speaker jack. Has a 3 band eq on the clean channel, treble and bass eq on the rythym channel and a shape knob on the solo channel that emphasizes the mids. 16 built in effects and a built in tuner, which comes in very handy.

Ill start off by saying that ive always been a Randall man,ive always thought they made the best SS amps. But i have been very very impressed with this amp. When i first plugged in i played the Rhythm channel first, and i was sold immediately. With the gain on 10 it can get a very nice 80's sounding hard rock sound. Back the gain off to 3 or 4 and you get a nice 70's classic rock sound. Very warm for SS,and if you roll off of the volume on your guitar its very reminisent of a tube amp.....very dynamic. I was concerned at first about this channel not having a mid control, but its a very middy sounding channel,so it evens out nicely. There is a second gain channel that kicks the gain up a notch and shares the treble and bass controls and it also has a shape knob that you can scoop or raise the mids. You can get a very warm metal sound, ala Killswitch Engage,or even old Metallica. The clean channel sounds pretty good, although i dont use it much. Sounds nice with chorus on it.

This amp has changed my whole perception of Crate amps. Ive been playing for 14 years, and ive owned a ton of amps, SS and tube. This amp has a great rock tone, for the price you cant beat it.

65 watts very loud, three button foot switch works very well once you figure out how you want it set up. it has Clean and Lead plus an awesome Overdrive and too many effects to list
P.S. at a local guitar shop they have the same amp and I hooked it up to a half stack cab WOW it carries a nice little punch

it sounds amazing. I play a lot of Alternative and Heavy Rock, to say the least it serves it's purpose at practice I have it at half and it has yet to blow I have had it at three quarters and in my opinion well well worth the money

I bought it used about 8 months ago. it was like new and it has never given me any form of a problem. would I have a backup at a gig? I would have a back up even if I had the most expensive Marshall.

I have been playing for about 5 years this was the first "big" amp purchase I made. if something were to go wrong with it I would replace it with its bigger brother most defiantly. overall if I could go back in time I would buy it all over again.

Very versatile. Clean channel sound superb. Distortion 1 is alright, probably what most would use, but I prefer Distortion 2. It gets pretty heavy and sounds excellent. This amp has the best distortion for an amp in its price range. Too bad Peavey XXX's aren't this cheap! lol The effects are very usable. Only wish more options were available to tweak the effects.

This is the category where it hurts. I had this for 3 weeks and the speaker blew in it. I never took it above 2. Its too bad Crate won't use some brand name speakers instead of the cheap junk they put in as this amp kills other than this. I'd pay a few bucks extra for better speakers!! This is why their reputation isn't as good as alot of other brands.

I sent it back to MF. If I was rating them I'd give it a 9. I never talked to Crate though.

Its really hard to hate this amp despite the speaker issue. I was too cheap to just replace it though. If it had a nice speaker it would have done better but I can't really give an amp that sounds this good a bad score like a 5 or so.
