This amp is decent for a beginner who is just practicing with it. One set of EQ knobs, Drive and clean channels, headphone jack, cd in, and speaker out. No effects loop, Solid State, 15W, a cheap 8" speaker. The good thing is that its loud, but not loud enough to go over drums.

Im using an Epiphone G400 with dual humbuckers. I play mostly metal. The clean channel is decent. Very quiet which is good, but past volume 5 or 6 it gets kind of harsh. On the distorted channel, it is noisy beyond belief and very muddy. You can hear more distortion than notes. Because the distortion sucks, I use a Line 6 Pocket Pod Express with the amp on clean and the pod on metal mode. When you palm mute the lower strings, there is a grumbling noise that is just horrible and it lasts longer than the notes.

I use it daily for practice, and i used it for one gig, big mistake. it was in a theater that seated around 300 people and it was hard to hear over the drums.

Ive been playing with this amp for the entire time ive been playing guitar (5 years). its held up surprisingly well because ive carried it through rain (open back) and dropped it many times. If the sound quality was better, it would be a great amp.

FEATURES ARE VERY GOOD.NDS ARE WEAK, BUT NO# 7, LONG DELAY AND REVERB, IS MY REASON FOR LEARNING TO PLAY LEAD GUITAR. I PLAY ROCK BLUES. I WANTED A SIMPLE PACKAGE AND A DECENT SOUND.

I DON'T WANT TO ADD OTHER SOUNDS TO THE AMP IF POSSIBLE, TO KEEP IT SIMPLE AND STRAIGHT FORWARD. THE AMP IS VERY NOISY AROUND MY COMPUTER MONITOR ( I JAM WITH MEDIA PLAYER ON THE COMPUTER.) THE CLEAN SIDE IS GOOD-I DON'T USE IT MUCH. THE GAIN SIDE IS RICH WITH DISTORTION. I FOUND A GOOD SOUND FOR ROCK BLUES (AM STRAT SINGLE COIL WITH TEXAS SPECIAL PICK-UPS) WITH 3/4 GAIN AND TREBLE WIDE OPEN . I USE THE BRIDGE PICKUP ON MY STRAT. THE BASS EQ (80 HZ) IS TOO MUDDDY FOR MY TASTE. MIDRANGE IS MUDDY BUT OK. TREBLE IS CLEAN AND SHARP. THIS IS NOT A BIG AMP AND LACKS WHAT A BIG AMP HAS, BUT IT IS MY FAVORITE AMP COMPARED TO FENDER, AMPEG, AND MARSHALL-IN A SMALL AMP

USED FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS. BUILT GOOD AND I PURCHASE THE EXTENDED WARRENTY ALSO. THE SPEAKER OUTPUT HAS NEVER WORKED RIGHT, BUT I DON'T REALLY NEED IT. I PLAN TO MIC THE LITTLE AMP IF NEED BE.

NEVER USED IT, BUT, THIS SURVEY PAGE IS WEAK. YOU CAN'T GO BACK AND CORREDT ERRORS WITHOUT DOING IT OVER. THATS WHY THERE ARE SO MANY TYPO ERRORS ETC. IN MOST OF THE PUBLISHED SURVEYS. FIX THE INPUT PAGE, YOUR AMP IS GREAT.

MUSICIAN 35 YEARS. I ALSO OWN GIANT AMPEG AMP, SMALL MARSHALL AMP, SQUIRE AND AM STRAT AND PEDALS ETC. I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN. I LOVE THE SIMPLE MIX OF 3 AND I/2 GAIN WITH FULL TREBLE AND NO# 7 EFFECT. (FOR A SMALL AMP) (THE FULL GAIN IS VERY GOOD ALSO AND FULL GAIN WITH 1/2 MED RANGE EQ.) I TOLD THE REP WHAT I WANTED AND INSTEAD OF THE FENDER HE SHOWED ME THE CRATE. THE TUNER ON TOP IS THE GREATEST IDEA SINCE THE AMP. I WISH IT HAD A FULLER SOUND AND SIMPLE UNMIXED EFFECTS WITH ITS OWN VOLUME CONTROL. IF YOU WANT HELP LEARNING TO PLAY GUITAR AND YOU WANT GOOD HELP NOW, BUY THE CRATE AND TRY THE ABOVE INFO. THANKS

Blues/Rock/Rhythm. I don't use the speaker for this, which is a joke. I use the speaker jack and plug it into 12" Peavy Black Widows. My amp head works fine, 120 Watts, but I only practice at home and loud volumes will create havoc. So I use this little amp and try to push it a little harder than it is used to. The sound quality is rather nice. It has a good overdriven sound, simulating a larger amp head at lower volumes.

I love the Crate sound of amplification from the first time I plugged into a studio. I hoped the little speaker had more a an impact, but it doesn't really, perhaps no speaker this size does.

I got my amp brand new, for full use because i don't got a band at the moment. I think on any amp the plug in a discman feature is pointless, i do like how i can plug in my headphones and practice while people are sleeping. Solid amp i love it.

I use a Squire Stratocaster, and for about a month with the amp used the distortion it came with, it was more overdrive than distortion though. Adjusting the levels was no problem, just when I have distortion on i turn down my mids.
I no longer use the distortion on my amp anymore because I have a Boss Metal Zone MT2, great distortion.

I could depend on this amp, not for a gig because it isn't big enough but when i am jamming with my friends its a great amp to have, its loud enough for a basement. I have had absolutly no problems with this amp.

For a practice amp, its pretty much the norm. CD in, headphones, clean, and dirty channels

Well first off i have a tube head as my main set-up so at first every little amp i played sounded stiff and lifeless. After comparing this to a little marshall mg, a line6 spyder, and a kustom practice amp i went with the crate. The clean channel is average not bad, but not great. Next the distortion is why i bought this amp. Of all the little amps i tried the crate just had the nastiest gain. You can nail a pretty decent Pantera Far Beyond Driven tone, You know that cold sterile distorted tone. This amp also gets a so-so ACDC tone as well. Remember i am comparing this to other cheap, small prctice amps not Mesa, Marshall, VHT, Bogner, etc.....

Just bought it but i have owned and know people who have owned crate stuff and have had no problem. Plus it has i think a 5 yr. warranty.

I have been playing over 15 yrs. and played alot of gear. So as far as a practice this is a sweet deal for $89.00. If it were stolen i would check out other cheap practice amps before i bought this just to see whats out there.
