The Chorus, with Depth and Rate controls, is versatile, working for everything from broad, slow, sweep effects to gentle tremolo-like sound, all the way to otherworldly space-age sounds (With Depth and rate at max). The Overdrive circuit is decent at low gain settings, but falls apart anywhere above 2.5 and the shape knob leaves a bit to be desired. If you want anything other than some very light OD, use a pedal. The reverb is nice, if a little tinny at the higher settings. The clean channel is great, and I've been able to get some great sounds from it. I play mostly rock and metal, and the sounds are good enough for my taste. I use a pedal for distortion, which sounds great through the clean channel.

I play a Lyon by Washburn with dual humbuckers, stock. This amp sounds good for rock and metal, as well as for softer, poppier stuff. I haven't cranked the volume too high, (nothing above 5) but the sound is great. It gives clear, resonant clean chords with full body, and the chorus fills it out even more. Again, the distortion is pretty weak, so you'll want a pedal for sure. I haven't found anything this amp can't do sonically yet. I am a tone Nazi, and I've been very pleased by the overall tone of this amp.

I haven't put this amp through much hell, so I can't say, but it seems like a pretty durable piece of equipment.

I got this amp used at a pawn shop. The reverb knob was missing, but other than that it was in good condition, if a little dusty. I've played for 6+ years, but only recently become a serious player. I have played with a band for a couple months. I play my Washburn through a DigiTech Death Metal pedal and occasionally throw in a Snarling Dogs Wonder Wah. I am very satisfied with this amp, and would recommend it to a friend, and would buy it again if it were lost or stolen.

This amp has 2 channels, clean and distortion. Get the footswitch, cuz the button to switch between channels is tiny and u couldn't hit it in a gig. 16 FX, some decent, some crap. Headphone jack is nice for practice.

I play a standard Mex strat through this amp, and it is noisy! You can get some nice distortions out of it though, but at hi volumes u lose quality of tone. The clean isn't bad, but its not as loud as I'd like. Also, its difficult to get a light crunch with the distortion, its either clean or heavy crunch, nothin in between that sounds good. Some of the digi FX are nice to add a little flavor, some of the reverbs and delays are good. The autowah and octaver are crap, tho, and the other wahs too.

This thing can roll with the punches, heavy cab, recessed knobs, can take a beating. Just don't take a hammer to the knobs and you should be fine

I've been playin for 2 years now, and have used this amp live several times. It gets the job done, but u gotta have it blastin in yer face, cuz sometimes it gets lost amidst the mix with only 30 watts. Some great distortions, which is where it shines. Overall not a bad amp.

This was my first amp. The features well, suck. The OD channel has so much low end buzz at a volume level of three or higher, especially when palm muting power chords. The same with the clean channel when using a pedal.

I am using a fender fat strat with single coil pickups. It is a very good first amp from my experience of about 6 years of playing and three amps. At high sound levels, although you have to turn the low all the way down, it sounds great. Now there is a little button for the OD channel, just forget it is even there, take it out if you want to, it's worthless. The OD on that amp sucks worse than my moms hoover. I just use my pedal board when practicing on this amp.

If you like playing with no bottom end, then this is a perfect small gig amp with a room no bigger than a school portable. It has never given up on me when practicing before a gig.

Customer support sucks, I asked them about the low-end buzz and they just said, "well thats just the way that amp sounds"

Like I said, I've been playing for about 6 years, I also own a marshall 100watt half stack that just about eats up ANY other amp I've heard. Plus a fender 15watt frontman I got at a garage sale for 10 bucks, yeah, uh, dont waste you $$ on that one either. I use it for playback from my recorder. I also have a washburn acoustic/electric I picked up at samash for only about $400 and my first guitar, a Squier affinity strat with mods(new pu's and trem) that I might say sounds better than my fat strat when EQ'd. I totally love this amp for a practice amp but nothing more. I really wish this amp had a better sounding low end and distortion because it would be a kick-azz amp if it did.

Chorus, two channels,Distortion channel has Volume, gain and mid contour.Clean has its own EQ.

The chorus sounds pretty decent on the clean channel. But the distortion channel is by far the worst I've ever heard from any amp. There is no EQ for the distortion channel just a mid contour which dials in a wide pallet of worthless sounds.Seems this amp brings out all the wrong frequencys and none of the right ones, its all lowend and a crackly crunch high sound,no warmth what so ever.I have a Park G25R that I practice on that blos the doors off this thing.Hell I evan played a Roland Blues Cube that wasted this thing. This is a freind of mines amp that I'm rating. While I don't expect this to sound like my All Tube Marshall that I gig with,it is evan pale in comparision to other low buck solidstaters.I'll give it a 2 cause the clean was usable and the chouros nice, but the distortion was horrible. The distortion is unusable for any style metal to blues to rock its all worthless.

This amp is God awful.I would be embaressed to gig with this amp.I would rent an amp for the amount of gig money I made for the night befor I would gig this amp.If m main gig amp blew mid set I would plug into the PA and play dry befor I giged this amp.As far as reliabilitie I dunno??Personally I would take it apart and experament with caps etc... and use it as a test dummy cause its no usable tone wise.

I've been playing for 10+yrs.I've been playing semi-pro for the last 5yrs and Pro the last yr.I am a bluesy rock/hard rock guitarist by heart. But play in a professional touring metal band.I play a wide range of stock and hotrodded strats through Marshall amps,I prefer the cranked plexi sound for personal taste, but use a Rich preamp distortion sound for the metal group.I hated this crate amp with a passion I can't stnad the tone to the point were if I pick up the guitar at my freinds house to show him a song I wrote I tune the volume off and show him unplugged. And no I'm not bashing my bros equipment he has a 2204 Marshall JCM 800 stack,he knows the crates a POS.I you buy this amp for any type of distorted sound you will be sorel disapointed.I'd suggest trying a Mini Marshall or Anything else for that matter.

this is my brothers amp that he bought about 5-6 years ago. now he rarely plays and its at my house(i play bass). i think the other guys already mentioned the features so i won't repeat them. i am baffled by the poor reviews posted here, and also what i've heard about it from other people. i am a tone freak. i personaly feel the amp sounds decent enough for most people.

i play mostly metal music with drop tunings with a yamaha with 2 hums and a single coil. mostly use drop tunings because i'm a horrible guitar player(like i said, i play bass). okay, i must have a "happy" amp here cause the overdrive on this unit sounds great. smooth bottem, crunchy mids, sparkling top. though it does have some buzzes and hisses, i have heard worse amps that were more expensive. i think crates shape circuit could use some work, but it isnt hard to dial up a nice sound (at least for me). okay, now for the clean channel. i have little to complain about here. sure its not the most full or toneful, but it doesnt bother me at all. nice 3 band eq..pretty straight foward. chorus makes both the clean and dirty channels sound better. people just have to realize what this amp is. it is an inexpensive, low powered(i feel its gigable), simple amp. when you are rich, then sweat the little shit

this amp has been used steadily for quite a while, and i'm talking use where the volume never drops below 5. but (like an idiot) i let my singer use it as a p.a. and he finally killed the speaker after a few weeks. but remember that this amp was used at full volume the whole time with my singer screaming through it. i plan on replacing the speaker with a clestion. cool

This amp features a pretty stale distortion channel which I could find no use for. It's a 30 watt....and believe me, it plays like a 30 watt. Nice reverb channel, nice chorus channel. The chorus can double as a flanger as well.

I used this amp for practice and it suited me fine. But once the drums came in the picture, it was all frustration from there. The louder you go with this amp, the more tone you sacrifice.

This amp is very hissy. The effects are noisy and sound cheap. The distortion channel is sounds like a toy, very "shreddy". I sold this amp because it sounded so bad. It's only advantage is that it was louder than my previous practice amp.

It is a solid stateamp w/ 2 channels clean and overdrive. The clean has an EQ but the OD has doesn't. It has a good reverb and chorus that are decent for this crap quality amp. It doesn't get very loud.

it has 3 nobs on the overdrive channel, gain, shape, and level. It sounds great if the gain is all up and the level is at 0. when you turn the level up it really starts to kill the tone of the amp. The clean channel bites. when you turn it up past 6 the speaker starts to make buzzing noises you cant use effects or it will make the amp cut out.
