This is a small, 30 watt solid state amp with 16 digital effects. It has a 10" speaker that provides more than adequate bottom end. I also wanted a headphone jack, Ipod input, and most importantly, a footswitch jack. This amp has them all.

Sound Quality : 9
While none of the amps in this catagory will sound like a great tube amp. this unit sounds pretty good. The clean channel is bright with a nice sparkle. It's also capable of getting quite loud. The overdrive channel has nice range from a bit crunchy all the way to high gain. The limiting factor is a one knob EQ, but it's not enought to kill the deal. The effects are also pretty good. If you need better, use your pedals. For a practice amp and when you want to travel light, they do the trick. I had ordered the H&K FX30 and was very disappointed. Poorly built, nasty sounding and crappy effects. I returned it the next day and ordered this. What a difference.

Reliability : 10
The amp appears to be built like a tank. Of course, and manufactured product can develope a problem, but with a 5 year warranty, you should be in good shape.

I've tried a number of amps in this catagory and have found this the best for the money. I've been playing for 40 years; everything from classic rock to folk, and have owned numerous great amps, one of my first being an Ampeg V-4. For a practice amp this fits the bill. Good sound, all the bells and whistles and well made. For the price, you can't go wrong.

Made in China in 2007. 2 channels - solo and clean, 3 band EQ Low, Mid, and High. 30 watts, 10" speaker at 4 ohms, 16 effects choices, built in tuner which is always active (very cool). Has extension speakcer output and jack for footswitch for channel switching. It's only 20 pounds.
Sounds good at low volume in the house. Has plenty of volume for small gigs. For the price, it's nice.

Sound Quality : 8
I have a few guitars mostly with P-90's and a Strat with HSS and an old Harmony with DeArmond gold foils. It's sounds good with all of them, not too bad with my Dean acoustic with piezo pickup. The clean channel is really good. It's got some serious volume and a very nice bottom and not as much treble as I expected from a 10" speaker or a Crate for that matter. The solo channel isn't that great, it's got a shape knob which really doesn't do much. If you fool with it enough it is usable. I have a Bad-Monkey tube overdrive which is an awesome pedal with my small tube amps, not so great with the Crate, it's alright but not as sweet as with a tube amp. Using an MP3 player in the RCA jacks, it's way to easy to overdrive the amp and also using the Boss RC2 looper in the input, it's overdrives way to easy, if it had a clip indicator, it would be on all the time at low outputs of external devices. The sound of the amp by itself is good, especially on the clean channel, not being pedal friendly is a negative.

Who knows, seems well built.

Never had to deal with Crate

I've been playing for about 50 years, I have a few guitars and several amps. I like to trade and try different things, this amp could be around for awhile or maybe not, it's just an amp. I used it this morning at church, I was surprised on how loud it could get and still have a very nice tone to it. I was looking for something to replace my Epiphone valve junior head with matching cab, which for me is useless, way too loud in the house and not enough clean to play at the church, the RFX30 does both very well. I wish it handled the RC-2 loop station better, but I can live with it.

This is a solid state amp. It has 15 DSP effects 2 channels, 3-band EQ, Crate Custom speakers, and dual RCA inputs. It also has 3-band EQ on the Clean channel and Shape knob on Solo channel, an effects Level control, CD input, external speaker out, footswitchable port, and a headphone jack.

This amp is verastile for many styles. I play blues, classic rock and jazz. I bought this for the clean sounds only. I dont play metal so I dont know how it sounds with mad distortion, but im sure it could handle it. It has 30 watts of power and its freakin loud.

Sound Quality : 9
This amp has a lot of tube quality in it for a solid state. Very loud. I compare it to the Valvetronix Vox 30 watt. It can handle that amp plus its a lot quieter. I havent tried distortion on it, but the clean kicks ass. I get chills when I hear it. I play with a Parker Nitefly M, and it carries the tone beautifully. The clean channel is great and the Solo Channel is ok. When you turn the gain up on the solo, it give a little hiss, but thats expected with solid state.

Reliability : 9
Ive had it for 3 weeks. Im sure it will live long. The cabinet is solidly built and it beautifull to look at. Brown Tolex with Gold metal edges and Gold Crate emblem. Its looks so sweet. Very vintage.

Ive been playing for 10 yrs. i find this amp a great value. I own a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, and the Vox Valetronix 15 watts. I chose this amp to lug around to practice and small gigs at church. if it were stolen I would definetly buy it again or upgrade to teh 65 watter.
