Danelectro E-Studio

Nice sounds come out of this magic box ,when I plugged it through my Grestch semi-hollow it sounded great.Distortion is real loud ,I mean this thing can SHOUT!

The amp , as I just wrote, sounds terrific ,It might sound a little low through an electroacoustic but it's only natural since it has low wattage, the echo is OK ,It could be better but still, the amp kicks ass.

Definately an amp to rely on ,I usually plug it through my Fender Vintage Hot Rod 57 strat and clip it on my belt, really great for backstage practice.

Never had to deal with the company ,It works great.

I've been playing through this amp for several years now (about 2 or 3) and it has never disappointed me ,this is a true loyal product and I reccommend it for anyone from beginners to pro players.I have lots of experience (46 years of experienced player now and have played with some world reknown bands) and have played through many amps, this little bastard has blown my head off since the very beginning.I only warn you :you may have an orgasm during playtime

I have owned this thing for almost 7 years now. I don't even know if they still make them. I would diffently recommend one to anyone. I use it to play bass at it works wonderfully and sounds quite natural. I have a fender precision and a danelectro dc-1....the dc sounds amazing with this. I don't really use the disort because I don't want the fart in the bathtub bass sound

For $20 what do you expect. The distortion is weak and the echo is gay, though it's fun to play with if you have some effects pedals running through it. The stock headpones aren't very good. I bought some Koss PRO/4AA headpones and it's OK. It isn't loud enough without the distortion turned on, and since the distortion is weak, I use my DS-1 or Big Muff PI through it and it is adequate.

I play a Custom Shop Strat through it. As I said above the distortion is weak, and the echo is fun to play with but not practicle. The clean channel is not loud enough unless you use some ear buds or in ear phones. It sounds decent if you use some effects through it, better than playing unpluged or with a tube amp turned way down.

It seems reliably enough for what it is. I have had no problems in my 5 days of ownership. It is made out of plastic, so you don't want to drop real far or step on it. For $20 what do you expect.

N/A I doubt they would dedicate much time to this product if you called, given how cheap it is.

I have been playing on and off for about 10 years. I have a custom shop strat which I usually play through a Marshall JCM2000 DSL201. I'm not convinced that my amp is that great but, as I've found with most amps, it sounds good if you crank it. Unfortunately that's not very practical if you like to play late at night and you have neighbors/family/roomates. That is why I bought this. I almost bought the Rock-it thing by some company I never heard of, but it was twice as much and looked like a piece of shit. For $20, I figured that the E15 is worth a try and if it sucks, I'll buy the rock-it thing. This is good enough for what I wanted. It allows me to practise with out bugging people around me. I can't imagine that the Rock-it is so much better that it's worth the extra money. I have since purchased a Line 6 POD XT which I hop makes thing obsolete. Look for my review on that later.

Well i bought this amp a few months ago so my parents would stop yelling at me to turn down the amp. Plus i wanted it because i can play anywhere with it. For 20bucks it was an o.k. deal. It comes with an on/off switch and just some cheap overdrive on it. Plus a volume roller thingy and a distortion ajust. Looked like shit when i bought it until i tore of the ugly ass face-plate and spray painted over the ugly maroon paint to make it a flat black.

Like i said its an o.k. amp and now i just use it to play through my computer if some friends are over. (like a second amp through my comp speakers) the distortion isnt anything to to proud about as i have a better distortion pedal. The battery just died but ive had it for about 4or so months now so its normal.

The UGLY face plate came right off, good thing. Who the hell designed it, was the person retarded, its SO FUCKING UGLY WITH THE FAG ASS FACEPLATE!

I never cared about a 20$ amp, and what company would anyway?

Does what it promieses with a crappy overdrive, id say get it only if you need it otherwise, get something better.

Purchased this amplifier from Musician's Friend on a closeout special. Works wonderfully for it's purpose, which is a personal headphone amp. I am a rank-beginner and needed some sort of amplifier to get started. Playing a semi-hollow body and needed to get something to provide me with amplified sounds. Has an echo and distortion feature with level control and Volume Control. On/Off Input and Headphone Jacks. There are also buttons for distortion and echo. The headphones are cheap and noisy. I had planned to purchase a pair of Sony MDR-V600s and once I plugged these in I noticed a dramatic difference, so plan on upgrading the headphones. I mostly use this amp for practice sessions, and for that purpose it works great.

I am playing an Epiphone Dot Semi-Hollow Body. It's great to see the amp respond to the tone & volume controls on the guitar as I learn the effects. Haven't found the amp to be noisy but did notice some excessive hum whenever the guitar is slightly out of tune. There are 3 distinct sounds which come out of this headphone amp: Clean, Echo, Distorted. You can mix & match combinations and change the distortion level.

It's reliable, solid state, powered by a 9v battery.

I have been playing for less than 6 months. Were this amp lost or stolen I would certainly replace it. Compared to other products like the Epiphone Headphone Amp I find E-15 Studio Amp to be head & shoulders above. For $20 bucks it's a no-brainer, go out and buy one.

OK, this is where I just want to say, that based on my experience, this is the best of the mini-amps available for under $50. The sole reason for this is the echo effect. All the others lack any sort of reverb and the clean sounds as well as the distortion have a very unpleasant my-guitar-is-dead-and-not-responding feel to them. Perhaps if you plugged in with a $3000 Les Paul it would sound better, I don't know, but if you're using your average plank like I am, reverb is THE most important option. You can play decent solo jazz guitar, practice your scales, do ska/punk/reggae or even do some composing in the acoustic/fingerstyle genre, and IT WON'T BE PAINFUL TO YOUR EARS LIKE ON ALL THE OTHER MINI-AMPS.

Yeah, get a backup if you're planning to play Wembley Stadium with this.

Like I said, for any of the styles I mentioned, this is the mini-amp to get. If you want to play any other style, including metal, rock, er...grunge or whatever, think about some other option because the only sounds you will not cringe at coming from this amp are the cleans. Oh, by the way, the echo rate is not adjustable and is stuck on Danelectro's idea of 50's reverb, which is just hilarious, so you better get used to sounding like Brian Setzer all the time.

I bought the Danelectro eStudio e15 and it is really versatile. I found that I can go anywhere with a guitar now. I used a cassette adapter and plugged it into my truck stereo, I plugged it into the auxillary in on my DeWalt battery charger/boombox that I use out in the construction field (with a 24 hour/18 volt battery.) I even plugged into my computer. I like the distortion and echo but I wish it had an accoustic guitar effect also. I'm sure Danelectro can make different models for different tastes. It is going to be great on campouts and going to the beach.

I just bought this unit last night and have only plugged in with my Godin SD with stock pickups. I play blues, rock, country, jazz, metal, and classical. It does act as a separate effects pedal when played through my Crate accoustic amp. It has a fairly wide, adjustable distortion range. The digital echo simulates a kool, 50's reverb effect.

I dropped it in the street this morning and it still works. I'm glad that I stepped on it because it is so compact I don't think I would have noticed that I dropped it. We'll see how well it holds up.

Never dealt with the company. Haven't looked at the warranty.

Playing guitar for 35 years. I have lots of other gear...too much gear...this has been the most versatile. If you are ate-up with guitar...this is a must have...you'll never have to go through the withdrawals of not being able to plug in somewhere...I can find and adapter for anything or hardwire it to anything with a speaker. If it gives out tomorrow I'll buy another.

ECH, i got this at guitar center for 10 bucks, and within an hour of my purchase, it broke down. The only way it could work was by pushing on the distortion knob!

Very easy to get a good sound. Has a variable control for the distortion/overdrive, which is nice.
Easy to use as a headphone amp or plug into your combo amp.

Overdrive is very good, similar to my Tubescreamer pedal, and it can
make more distorted "aggressive" sounds than the Tubescreamer.
Echo is OK, but I would not want to depend on it all the time. The echo sounds a little fake.

Seems very reliable. You could use it to get a distortion tone.
You would need to be careful with it and clip it to your belt/pocket or guitar strap, or perhaps the strap on your amp and use a long cord.

It is a good match for blues and alternative. The echo sound is OK, but not as good as the Danelectro foot pedals. The distortion is good, and you have a wide range from slight overdrive to very tubey (think a small amp almost maxed out) sounds. It is primarily a headphone amp, but it also works well with an amp.

I bought my amp new (made in 1999). I have the E-15 model (with distortion and echo). I think that these features are the minimum for a mini-amp. I use the amp at home, Naturaly, And It gets loud enough for me so I can even plug it in my big amp and it will still hold. The amp has an ON/OFF swich, Distortion swich, Echo switch and a Vol and Dis dials.

I am using a Les Paul, a Washburn and a Fender Jag-stang. The amp sounds good with all of them but with the LP it sounds the best! The distortion is real 50's like so it is cool if you like that kind of stuff. The echo is a little fake sounding but with distortion you wont mind.

It is build well, I even dropped it for a few times and not even a scrath. It wont broke down because there is nothing to be broken on it.

This little amp has all the features that you would wish from this small thingy. Very cool looking, Very cool sounding. Buy it if you think of buying a mini-amp.

E-13 comes with distortion. (The E-15 comes with other effects and a line out). There's a clip so you can clip it to your waist. Cute, but cheezy headphones.

I use it with my Danelectro 56-U2. I don't use the distortion much, but it sounded good when I'm curious. I usually use it for a clean sound. I have noticed a distortion when not playing clean. It's the kind of distortion that you hear when your levels are in the red. Haven't figured out why this occurs. It's very distracting. I have sent a question to Danelectro. Haven't heard from them yet, but I expect to. The volume control also produced a very loud noise like the contacts were dirty.

The outside seems to be constructed well. The case seems solid. I won't be worried if I accidently dropped it. However, with the problems with the sound, maybe the insides are not built so well. I've only used it about four times since buying it.

I have sent a question to Danelectro before and they did answer. It took maybe a week for a reply. I also gave them some advice about their website and how to change some things and they thanked me for that and I've seen at least one of the changes on their site. I've sent them questions about the problems I'm having with the E-13 and I expect them to answer.

I've only used the E-13 about four times. On the forth time I heard the distorted sound and I can't use it any more because the noise is too distracting. I think I may have gotten a bad unit or it could be that the unit is not reliable. With cheaply made products you need good customer service.

Small headphone only amp that clips to the belt. Good features including echo,and overdrive. Headphones are good quality and Danelectro even considered painting them to match the retro colors of the E-Studio.

I'm using this to practice with my DeArmond Starfire and avoid wakening the neighboors in the next apartment, or hotel room when I'm on the road. It is good for hearing the sound of the guitar, probably players who like a distorted sound will prefer this amp over players who like a clean sound. My E-Studio may be defective though, as as soon as it is turned on...HISS. Not minor hiss, but that retro hiss from old reel to reel and 8-track days.

Giging with this amp would be hilarious, OK, everybody put your headphones on, I think I have enough y-cords. It looks like this little amp will probably only last years and years. I've only had it a short time, but I expect it will last.

Nothing packed in the box to tell you what customer support to expect. Owners manual is an 4X8 piece of paper. Tells you how simple this amp is, and how skimpy the documentation is. I think Danelectro may not plan on this product needing much support.

This is my first portable private practice amp, having only played a short time the private part is very important. If it is lost or stolen, I won't miss the hiss. I'll use this one until I find better, which must exist.

the e-studio from Danelectro is a very handy little amp , it is smaller than the honey tone & has 3 built in effects ,echo , distortion & overdrive , it clips on to your belt so you can jump about like a looney & headphones so that the family only have to listen if they want to .good features for its size & cost

sounds great on my Danelectro U2 sort of loses that classic sound through my Les Paul & my friends Tele . I wouldn't buy this if you dont have a Dane

I am only 16 but i love that classic 60's sound it makes the beatles songs sound authentic & gives a mellow edge to nirvana , I would recomend you to buy every single danelectro guitar , amp , effect or anything else you can lay your hands on (i should really get paid for this) . 1 Problem i had to search the whole of Glasgow for one
