Manufactured in 1960, perfect mid sized amp for small to medium sized rooms. Two channels, vibratto. Sounds and plays like some of the sweet 60's silvertones

Creamy, lush, and full, this is an extremely warm sounding amp. Not something you'd use for a hard overdriven sound. Big, full and round with creamy breakup would be my best description. Very, very sweet tube tone.

I've had it for several years, and it's given me zero problems. Not bad for a 45+ year old amp.

If you're looking for authentic tube tone, in a very cool vintage looking package, look no further than the Explorer if you're lucky enough to find one in good condition

This is a 2 X 6L6 tube amp with Vibrato. Two channels. 12AX7 preamp tubes, 6AU6 vibrato tube and 5Y3 rectifier. Very cheap particle board enclosure. Handwired chassis. This amp is a 1962 model. With the 5Y3 Recitifier I found it lacking at the gig in the mix with other players....too fuzzy. As a last attempt I tried a 5R4 rectifier and WOW is all I can say. ( I also was using it with a 4 X 10 speaker enclosure)I play mainly Fender Deluxe Reverbs, Blues and Rock, but this thing is now amazing, pure sustain and tone heaven. Last week I hardly used any OD or Compressor pedals. The closest thing I've found to my old Marshall I sold in 1972..what a find!

I use aminly Strats with p90's or sc's. Great picking nuance with this amp and superb sustain.

been playing 40 years, I would definitely look for one again if lost. I love the picking nuance, sustain and sound of this amp. I have 6 other Fender amps and never thought I would find another amp I like as well especially a cheap one like this. It's really a cheaply made amp...but sounds great! I think a Wards Airline 9015 is the same with reverb added, so it might be a great bargain too!
