This amp is all tube type made by DeArmond-Rowe in 1959 or 1960. This is the company that made Dearmond pickups for many different guitar companys. This is a straight forward amp with 2 channels. One with tremelo and one without. Controls are volume, bass, treble, rate and depth, volume, bass and treble on the first channel. It came with 2 10inch Jensen speakers and a trem pedal. Tubes are 2-6L6GC, 3-12AX7 and a GZ34/5AR4 rectifier. The cabinet is covered in an unusual copper colored tolex with a brown with gold fiber grille cloth. My guess would be 25-35 watts. This amp has the largest transformers I have seen for a moderate wattage amp. They could be easily used in a 60-80 watt amp. This amp is reasonably loud without sever ear damage.

This amp is great for blues with the right amount of breakup at medium volumes with my Esquire or Tele, fatter than a pigs butt with my Goldtop and if I back off the guitar volume on my ES175, a unbelievable jazz tone. Amazingly enough it sound good with my old Airline 3 pick up hollowbody with Dearmond pickups, I wonder why?

I played in bands in Macon Ga before the Beatles. I own way too many amps and guitars that I have aquired over the years including Super Rvb, Princeton Rvb, Tweed Pro,Tweed Vibrolux, several Gibson/Maestro amps from the 50's, 3 Vox and 1/2 dozen others. I only have all tube type amps. Guitars? Es175, Es330,Goldtop, Esquires, Tele, Strats, Guild Hollowbodys, ES150 and old Sivertone and Airline guitars. All have been aquired over the years. Some were purchased before the vintage guitat/amp frenzy. Some were bought when there was only new guitars and old guitars. I have never seen another 2x10 Dearmond amp and very few of the single 10 or 12 amps. Read Tone Quest mag for there take on a single 12 they reviewed.
