Music played : Sort of Hendrix/Clapton/Blackmore/SRV/Jeff Beck...
Rock & Blues

Not noisy at all, I think this amp is the most dynamic amp I've ever tried. Responds excellently to your playing with a lot of harmonics but not overwhelming such as Matchless.
It cuts great through the mix thanks for the C??sar's ears =
Clean Bottom + Midrange Hump + Crunchy Top + Very light lust Reverb

Not a Marshall or Fender or Soldano or HIwatt or Vox sound!
But your Sound!

It goes from an severe clean amp to authoritatives overdrive sound,
always with great definition and non-useless frequencies..

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank!
Point-to-point hand-wired - so no problem!

Customer Support : 10
Peter Mc Mahon's running the company since C??sar's death.
He answers very quickly to every question.

Playing guitar for 20-years now? It's definitely the best amp I own with my cherished '95 Diaz Classic Twin.

I just got my CD-100 from Diaz made in 2006. Very basic features on the front panel master volume, reverb, bass, treble, volume and hi/low inputs. The amp also has a half power switch. Very few knobs but for great tone that is all you need.

Sound Quality : 10
This is where tis amp shines. The clean is warm and glassy. The overdrive is thick and very articulate. That is the beauty of this amp is that even when overdriven every note is precise and pronounced. The clean sound is very close to that of a blackface Twin Reverb Fender. If you are looking for a metal type of "distortion" then this is not the amp for you. However if you are looking for an amp that will do clean very clean and do the blues and grit then this is the amp for you. I own alot of different amps. They are a Soldano Slo 100, 67 Marshall Plexi, 65 Fender Super Reverb, 65 Fender Twin Reverb, Dr Z Maz 38, Gibson GA 30rvs, and many more. None of these amps will compete with the Diaz. Don't get me wrong all of these amps do different things very well just not as well as the Diaz. I play mostly a variety of Gibson Les Pauls with the occasional ES 335 and SG thrown in the mix. I have to say that humbuckers shine thru this amp. Single coils always sound so thin but the humbuckers have a real meaty sound thru this amp that is TONE heaven. Playing mostly southern rock and classic rock with a touch of country this amps does what I need VERY well. I would say though this amp does not match up very well with greenbacks as they are not capable of handling that much power. However Vintage 30's sound great as this is primarilly what I use.

Reliability : 9
I have not had the amp that long but with the way it is built and the road case it came in I don't think I will have any problem..

Customer Support : 10
Peter Mcmahon is the best. I have searched for this amp for 3 years as I did not know that they were still being built. I took a chance and emailed Diaz one morning and within the hour I got a response from Peter. Peter answered all of my questions promptly and had my amo to me in about 4 weeks. If I ever have a problem I know that he will be there to stand behind it.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing guitar for 25 years and I have been thru many amps. Like I have read in other reviews if you have the money this is the best amp you will ever play thru period. I would definitely buy another one if mine were lost or stolen. If you do get one make sure you get the road case as it is exremely heavy and the case protects it well. Overall there are many great amps available that do all types of music better than the other, but if I can only take one amp to a show the Diaz is it. It is loud when you need it and very musical as well. The only thing that comes close to this amp is a Soldano SLO 100 but the Soldano is a very different animal altogether. No need for pedals you won't need any of them. Buy one of these and your search for tone is over..

My CD-100 was made in 2003-04. It is a one-channel amp and there aren't a ton of knobs, but there are plenty of usable push-pull features, including bright switch, mid boost (gain boost) and bass cut. This amp is perfect for rock, blues, country and anyone wanting real TONE.

Sound Quality : 10
I own and use many great amps including a '92 Matchless DC30, '71 Marshall 50w, Mesa Single Rec Solo 50, Bogner Metropolis, and '62 Fender Bandmaster and the Diaz is the BEST amp I have. It's very expensive, but if you have the funds, it's entirely worth it. I play country-rock and it's perfect for my taste. It's got a great, fat clean sound, very Fender-y but without any of the harsh frequencies or farty sound. I use the pull-bright function most all the time and a Tele just kicks butt through this thing. It's also got the bass cut for high volume humbucker gain without being woofy. The mid-boost is really like having another gain stage, even though this amp is only 1 channel. When I have to just use one amp, this is the amp I use and the boost switch sounds better than most overdrive boxes. The reverb is so good, it's the only reverb I use. It's hard to say enough good things about how this amp sounds. Just tonight I was playing a gig and I'm still thrilled with the tone I'm getting out of it and I've had mine for over a year. I'm not giving this one up. The only thing I wouldn't recommend this amp for is over the top metal type gain. This amp is for TONE.

Reliability : 10
My CD-100 hasn't had a bit of problem. It's built like a tank and I've used it pretty constantly over the last year and a half. It's one of the most dependable amps I've every used.

Customer Support : 10
I first came in contact with Diaz amps through Peter McMahon and he let me play through one and I was sold. Since then, he's always been available whenever I needed anything.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing guitar professionally for 15 years and I've been fortunate to have been able to afford a lot of great gear. I put this at the top of my list. I play Tom Anderson and PRS guitars mostly and I use a Bradshaw amp switching system with 4 amps into a single speaker cab. I use the Diaz for clean and crunchy Fender type tones and I can't think of another amp I'd use in its place. When I just use one amp, this is the one I use. If you can get one, consider yourself lucky!

PAID A LOT
FEATURES: 10
All the features that you really need. Simple and to the point. 50 to 100 watt switch is very nice. Reverb is sound is the best Ive heard.
mid boost is a very nice touch and can be used to produce that Warren
Haines type tone. Footwitch for reverb not really needed it sounds so
good. fx, loop.

Sound Quality : 10
Sound quailty: 10
The best sound quailty I've ever heard. No artifical ingredients totally
organic natural sound. Mid boost doesn't sound fake like a lot of amp
overdrives sound. A truly great sounding blues amp or in the Allman brothers vein or Robin Ford. It's possible to achieve any of these styles using the proper techniques. Finger picking really sounds wonderful on this amp. It has a magical tone that is hard to describe
just how good it is. I would get a second mortgage on by house to buy one of these amps. I have a 1954 Les Paul with a new neck, a 61 reissue Gibson SG for open slide tunnings, a 1973 Les Paul Deluxe and a 2002 Gibson 335. They all sound fantastic though this amp. But my favorite is the Gibson 335. The 335 and the Diaz 100 are truly a match made in heaven. The tone is pure and is so wide open for diffent techniques. If you ever get a chance to buy one of these amps and can afford it you will not be dissapointed.

Reliability : 8
Amp was orignially damaged it shipping. I sent it back and Peter corrected the problem in a timely fassion. One of the pots was faulty
after about 3 months of use again I sent I make and Peter corrected the problem very quickly and paid for all the shipping and everything. But I must admit I was very sad until I got it back. It was terrible having to play with another amp, but I got through it.

Customer Support : 10
I hope to someday purchase
another Diaz for a back up just in case. I'm sure Peter McMahon at Diaz
will correct any problem I have with the amp. He's a good guy and a good person to do business with.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playin since 1965, I own a 1968 Fender Twin Reverb, a 64 Blackface Bassman, a Mark II boogie, a Fender Reissue deluxe Reverb, a
Fender Deville None of these amps come anywhere near the Daiz in any way
There may be other amps out there that compare to the CD 100 but I've never heard one that has the tonal capabilities of this amp.

The CD100 head that I got was just made. For me the head is more versatile than any other head that I have, or have owned. The amp really is formatted for jazz, rock, blues, but I would'nt suggest this for any other situations!!! It features a half power switch to go from a 100 to 50 watts which really is great, because this amp is excrusciatingly loud!!!Also it has volume, master volume, bass, treble, reverb, fx loop, two footswitches to engage the reverb or midboost function.Without the footswitches the reverb will always be active, which it should because it is the drop dead best I have ever heard, also the midboost can be engaged buy pulling the treble switch which I always keep active. The other features are a bass cut switch, and a bright switch which operate the same way buy pulling the reverb or volume switches outward.Smart simple and just the right amount of bells and whistles that give the user a great way to dial there perfect tone!!!Which is impossible not to do with this head!!!!!It will absoloutely floor you!!!!! I do admit there probrably one of the most exspensive amps out there and not the easiest amp to obtain, but if you ever hear one you'll comb the earth to get one!!!!

Sound Quality : 10
I use a les paul elegant,a 59 2003 reissue. The elegent has the 57 classic pickups which really sound good but the burstbucker pickups in the 59 are much sweeter. Also my friend played his 335 through it and I instantly wanted to keep his guitar, unbelievable tone!!!The other heads I use are a soldano slo100,marshall 59slp reissue, with a new amp selector box that allows me to play into one 4x12 cab instead of having to lug multiple cabs around. The rest of these amps are nice but don't even come close to the diaz. The diaz can be left on full volume and it won't mush out like the others, but I keep the soldano for certain parts of my playing, the marshall I canned for the blockhead version of the plexi, marshall should be embaressed to call that amp there best shot at a plexi reissue!!!The diaz reacts so well to your string attack, you hear every note perfectly with just the right controllable top end breakup!!!No hiss or other strange noises that generally come with high watt heads, which soldano never could correct stating it was neon lights, your power supply and a host of other things that I believed until I brought the diaz home!!!!It's hard to compare it to anything because it does'nt sound like anything else!!!!I'll take the pepsi challenge with any other amp out there, they are some great ones out there but not as tonally nice as the diaz.If your a tone freak go find one it kills!!!!!In fact pete at diaz needed to let warren haynes use this head due to his shcedule in march 2004, and he's the reason I got one,so I was floored to find out my favorite player just broke in my new head, true story!!!!

Reliability : 10
Have owned it long enough to put it through some torture and it never has failed yet!!!!!!!!!If you see how well it's built you know it a class act as far as it's reliability in the future!!!

The rating for this category should be "0", because this is excactly what I've recieved up to now. ZERO customer support. I live in Germany, & I've emailed Mr.Diaz at least 5 times in the last 2 months asking for ordering info. NO REPLY. In some reviews you will read:"great support, Cesar answered all my mails" In some you will read the same hard luck story like mine. I understand that Cesar has been having health problems recently, and his website hasn't changed in the last months either. If he is ill, then we hope it's nothing serious, but perhaps someone in his small company could write something on his website so we're informed. To this end, has anyone been able to contact him lately? Feel free to mail me with info.

The CD-100 I had the pleasure of using was made in the mid 90's. It was unreal!! I play hard rock and blues, satisfied all my wildest dreams with Cesar Diaz imaculate creation. It hits hard on the overdrive then sets a soft sweet mood with a marvelous attack.... I can't give the proper words for my feelings about it other than; to understand, you MUST experience. You won't be the same...

Sound Quality : No Opinion
I record in many studios including, Electric Lady, Sear Sound, the Hit Factory, etc. In New York in the studios I use many different guitars. Through the CD-100 I have used: 1985 PRS Custom 24, 1959 Gibson Les Paul Burst, 1967 Gibson SG, 1977 Fender Strat, 1970 Les Paul Gold Top, PRS Dragon 2000(Solid Brazilian Rosewood Neck Blank and Fingerboard--- sustain for days!!!), etc. All blew my mind!!!! I find it hard to discribe a tone, everyone hears it differently, but with a DIAZ CD-100 you must hear it for yourself!!!!!

It isn't old enough yet for me to judge, so far so good!!!!!!

I have spoken to Cesar Diaz himself a few times. He is a great guy, and truely out to help with his product.

This amp was built in 199 . This amp is amazing. It is the Jimmy Vivinno model with the single 15" EV. It will huff and puff and blow your house down. I play a little bit of everything, blues, classic rock, 80's, whatever strikes me at the time and I can dial it in to anything I want. It is a single channel amp with HI and Lo gain inputs. The control panel consists of Volume, Treble, Bass, Reverb and Master. Also found on the control panel are the standby switch, Power Switch and the Half Power/Full Power Switch. There are four pull switches found on the control panel as well: Bass Cut, Mid Boost, Bright and you pull the Reverb switch to activate Vibrato. It has it all. Good thing this amp has a master volume and a half power switch, because you need it. The Reverb is the sweetest.

Sound Quality : 10
I have four guitars that I use with this amp. G&L ASAT Classic with Joe Bardens, Fender American Deluxe with Vintage Noiseless, PRS Custom 22 with a Jeff Beck and a Seymour Duncan AlNiCo II, and a Gibson ES-335. I can hit just about any sound out there. It has no hum and you can go from SRV tone (he had at least one of these) to distortion if you want. Tight bottom while the top breaks up. He is famous for it and if you played it, you would know why.

Reliability : 10
I love it. Built like a tank. Never broken down and if I played out, I wouldn't need a backup. I have spoken with a couple of major east coast and west coast shop owners who said they have never seen one go down.

Customer Support : 10
I bought it used. It was missing a couple of the chick heads. They were on the way with in a week.

Overall Rating : 10
I own several amps. '65 bassman, 62 bandmaster, 66 Super Reverb, a Hot Rod Deluxe and a Diaz Classic Twin. If it got lost, stolen or whatever, I would replace it instantly. However, that would be hard considering there are only a hand full of the 15" version. I would go with the 2x12 if I couldn't find the 1x15. The only thing I wish it has was the effects loop option and the foot switch, both of which were an option but the amp wansn't ordered that way. Minor details in the grand scheme of tonal bliss. If I had to give it a bad side, If I turned it past 4, you could hear it from here. It is loud, but the tone stays true.
