Great - Small combo amp - probably one of the best amp I've ever own, and I have own amps for more that 25 years! Current model has real spring reverb, headphone out, channel switching; I would have given it a 10 rating if it had some sort of parametric EQ (instead of the simple 3 band EQ that it offers). Also, the amp is missing a speaker out - but this is no big deal for anyone to make one's own as the "open back" provide ez access. Aside from the technical FX, the amp looks great! It could do with more readable (larger) captions below the knobs, as the current labels are easily hidden by the top edge of the amps' frame- From a distance, or in low light or other difficult situation, labels are hard or impossible to read. While I think of it, could also benefit from a channel indicator light, rather than simply using the little switch position as the indicator. All this said, I must say it again: This little amp looks fab! (and is very well made - not cheap at all)

Oh my god! what a fantastic warm bluesy sound! This amp sound supperior to 99.9% of any other amp you may use. If you don't rely on artificial distortion (I don't) take this amp to your next session - pick a good mike to place in front of it, a good guitar, and plug right in. The sound is warm... and gorgeous - sounds like a high quality little valve amp. It is also quite loud for it small size: in a rehearsal situation, you may even possibly not need miking through a PA if you play jazz, folk, or any other laid back type of music that takes it EZ with the drums...

Had it for more than a year, and I use it all the time; furthermore, despite several dismantling, rebuilding, customizations, kicks and drops, it has -and still - works 100% perfectly. this thing is undestructable!

Get a good axe, a good cable, plug right in and TRY THIS LITTLE FELLOW! This amp is really, really... wonderful! What a look! What a sound! I'm having trouble finding a large 2x12 that I like and have tried many; The G25 is so awesome that I have decided to check out the larger combos from this line of amps: if the big ones are as good as the 25 model, I will surely buy them all!

I like the controls and the sound of the distortion. Through my Gretsches it sounds very Thorogoodish. Gritty. The clean is very nice for such a small amp. The spring reverb (Real springs) is very sensitive and with the slightest vibration, reverberates through the speakers. Played a gig over the summer where the stage was a wooded deck. This amp was used in conjunction with my twin reverb to add some raspyness to the sound. The thump of the kick drum had this thing rattling away. Had to kill the reverb. Went with the DD-3 echo instead. The rating is based on my experience in relation to the PRICE!!! Excellent to travel around with to.

I play a Gretsch 6120 DSW and a Gretsch 6120-60. I was looking for a small practice amp just to practice playing Chet Atkins without having to warm up the tubes on the Twin Reverb. As I started playing I thought what a great 50's sound. I play rockabilly and 50's rock-n-roll mainly. But it also works for the beatles and some 70's classic rock. The rating is based on my experience in relation to the PRICE!!!

I am a Gretsch/Gibson player and play through Fender Amps. Mainly a twin reverb and a super reverb both much too loud for practice. I would be interested in looking at their larger models to see if they maintain the same sound tone with a bit more spacial occupation. It can sound a bit transistory through the 5" speakers.

The G25-VR is a quite small Chinese made 25 watt solid-state combo driving a pair of 5" speakers in an enclosed cabinet. It has two channels, shared three-band EQ and reverb. The amp is wrapped in nice looking brown vinyl and it seems to be pretty well built.Check out pictures and more specs [and other Drive amps] at www.switchmusic.com .

The G25-VR sounds surprisingly large for it's modest size...especially in it's clean channel. The reverb sounds pretty good in this mode,as well. The high gain channel is decent sounding for classic rock and for down 'n dirty blues. In my opinion, the amp sounds better with a quality overdrive/distortion box in front. The G25-VR takes gain pedals well, though a bit of taming with the highs is suggested due to the raspiness that the little 5" speakers can give with too much gain.Speaking of such, the combo's 2-5" set-up gives good warmth and fullness in the clean mode with the mids and highs tamed a bit and the bass control up a tad.To my ears,it sounds good with single-coils,but a bit more refined with vintage voiced humbuckers.Overall,it's a cool little amp that can get some rather solid clean and blues/rock tones [and get rather loud,as well] inspite of it's small size and price.

I got this cool little combo "new" off Ebay for only $32.00 [list is $129.95].For what it is and for what I paid for it,I'm quite satisfied with the purchase. If stolen,I would laugh and wish the person well in scoring enough scratch from this tiny combo to feed their ever increasing meth habit.
My other stuff consist of several American made Hamer,Washburn and Fender electrics.I also have a Martin acoustic and a German made Warwick Streamer bass.My "real" amps include a 60 watt Mesa/Boogie MKIIC+ head,a quite cool Bedrock 1600 50 watt head and a Bedrock 621 combo.A Roland Micro-Cube amp and several nice pedals round out my gear.Overall,I'm satisfied with my Drive G25-VR.
