I have owned it for 6 months and it is just like new. I think it was well built.

This is also a decent looking amp and I would want to replace it if anything happened, but I believe these were discontinued and for the $39.00 I paid with free shipping, I can't but a half decent used amp!

I bought this amp from Musicians Friend for $40 in November of 07. I saw it and knew I had to have it. I figured at worst I'd just pawn it off to a friend, the thing has four 5" speakers!
The clean channel is kind of plain. It doesn't sound bad, gets pretty loud, no clicking, popping or hissing. No reverb or anything, I imagine with a small effect chain the clean channel would be useful.
The overdrive channel is great. I was expecting a really cheap, distant sounding digital gain.. what this amp actually features is a really nice, bluesy sounding distortion. It's really only good for that one sound, but it's a great sound. Lots of sustain, no extra noise. It's a really fun, full, generic rock and roll sound. I was pleasantly surprised.
I wasn't expecting such a nice overdrive channel.. the overdrive alone should make it an 8/10.
My biggest issue is there isn't much bass at all. It almost feels like it's a midrangey bass on both clean and overdrive channels. It doesn't bother me at all though.

Yeah right. It was $40 and while it has a nice sound, the construction is cheap. I've already had an issue with the input jack, and had to muscle an end in there and I've only ever plugged a cable in to it twice. The decorative white lining probably won't last longer than a year before it falls off.
The amp is probably fairly durable, but I treat my equipment with some respect.

For a $40 no-name amp? I wouldn't expect any customer support.

I've been playing 11 years and have used this amp with an Epi Les Paul Custom. Great distortion sound, plain clean channel. The amp itself won't make you sound bad, hiss or pop which makes it worth $40 alone.
If it were stolen or lost, I'd buy another Drive amp. I was really impressed with this one. It's a great little amp to lug around and it's not like you'd ever have to worry about it.
I've had some pretty bad portable amps. This thing is great.
