The Cabinet was made in 2004. It was brought to an electronics show to showcase input options, and returned unplayed. There is, however, and added feature. It is a cabby cab--like the suitcases that have the pull-out/retractable handles and the recessed corner casters. It also has the tophat handles. It is mahogany with a birch baffle & back. The cab is covered in radiation green Naugahyde, with Diamond plated baffle board, black steel grill, and 2 2" ports. It is loaded with 2 Eminence Patriot Black Powder speakers (which is what I wanted after researching Eminence speakers). This cab has Stereo & Mono in's, and an out, if one would want to daisy-chain this cab--(although it is highly unlikely anyone would ever have to do that). This cab is incredible.

Sound Quality : 10
I have a Schecter C-1 Plus, with DiMarzio Drop Sonic (Bridge) and a DiMarzio Fred (Neck). I tune in D all across - (not Drop D, but the full D scale- as if it was E). I have a 7-string which I plan to sell, and then I will get a ESP VB400 with EMG 81's, which will be tuned in A all across. The head I am using is a 1960-1970 Traynor Bass Master Tube Head. Currently I play through a BOSS GT-6, Rocktron Metal Planet Distortion, and a Jekyll & Hyde. Let me say this: I have had to lower EQ settings in the GT-6, as well as having to lower various Fx like delay, flanger, reverb, due to the absolute clarity of the cabinet and speakers. Every Celestion cab I have had (including Mesa) has chunked on the lows. On this cab the lows are tight and defined, the mids are well defined and very present, the highs are just right - (not searing your eardrums out, but right where I like them). I have had sealed back and 3/4 back cabs, but never ported and tuned. The sound from this cab is incredible. It has that frontal punch of a sealed back, with the ambience of a 3/4 back. It is beyond the best of both worlds - it sounds better than both the sealed or 3/4 back cabs. Tim has a design and a method that is unparalled in the market.

Reliability : 10
I could depend on this cab without a back-up. I feel very secure that it could meet any demand that I place on it.

Customer Support : 10
The warranty on the cab is Lifetime, the speakers are 7 years. Before purchasing this cab, I had several questions in regards to ohm and watt calcs, clipping, etc. Tim provided me with the answers I needed to make an informed decision. Even now, if I have a question, I can either pick up the phone or e-mail him, and I get a response within the day. Provided it's not in the middle of the night.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for @ 21 years. If this item was lost or stolen, I WOULD DEFINATELY REPLACE IT - (after I stopped crying, of course). I can't find anything wrong with this cabinet- AT ALL. For all of the features, wood, sound, design, craftsmanship, and everything that is put into this cab, there is not another manufacturer (commercial or custom) that can touch EarCandy Cabs. There is definately no custom cab dealer that can beat the price either.

August 2004--just took delivery on my new Buzzbomb 212 cab direct from EarCandyCabs.com. At 55 pounds and a managable size, the cab is highly capable and fairly easy to tote around when I have to.

Sound Quality : 10
I had the cab equipped with Eminence Legend speakers; one is a model 121, the other is a 125. The combination of these two speakers gives the Buzzbomb all the tonal and frequency range I want as a guitarist...from rich, full lows to soaring highs, cleanly and effortlessly. This make it very versatile and a pleasure to play through. I am powering this cab with a vintage Fender Dual Showman tube amp, which puts out power to blow people away. The Cab handles the cleanest tones all the way to heavy distortion very faithfully.

Reliability : 10
This is a speaker cab, so not likely to fail (amps and other electronics do that). The power handling capablility of the Eminence speakers and the output of the Dual Showman Amp are sufficient to go to volume levels that I don't even want to go to. I suppose it is like having a car with 400+ horsepower...the power is there if you ever need it.

Aside from the fine product, this may be the best part in dealing with EarCandyCabs. Tim, the president, personally got involved in making sure my Buzzbomb was exactly what I wanted, from the selection of the cover material (I picked a great, rich looking black tolex) to the grill (mine is a black powder-coated steel mesh) to the selection of handles and corner hardware. Of course the selection of speakers is open to any 12 inch, but I picked the Eminence 121 and 125 based on Tim's recommendation. He had tested many different speaker combinations for himself, and came up with this one as being a killer.

Overall Rating : 10
I'd deal with Tim at EarCandy again, no question about it. There may be cheaper cabs out there, but none any better. The two twelves are mounted on a baffle, with two baffle holes to allow for the right movement of air inside the cab. It beats the pants off any open back cab.

This was made in 2004 for me! That's right for me. Exactly how I wanted it. I could of had a beer tap built on the side of it if I wanted to. Thats what Tim does he builds you what you want. I opted for all black completely black with a removable grill and castors. I also opted for the celestion vintage thirties. Locking inputs wired in mono at 8 ohms. A nice clean modern look! I went with two power ports down the middle. Pretty standard there for the buzzbomb. I run it with an all tube Mesa boogie dc-5 head. The guts in these cabs are unbelievable. Most people overlook this, but he really puts alot of attention to the connections also. I noticed a monster type speaker wires in there. This is very important to me. I am also a stereo head, and I know the benefits this has. I have my head connected via a huge ass speaker cable! So now I know it's not loosing nothing all the way to the speaker. Other cab companies use these tiny wires you would use to solder pc boards. And the wood forget about it! He used some really nice white birch and a mahagony front and antique pine back. Talk about PUNCH! The tolex on it is amazing. It bettered my boogie cab by far. It is very similiar to the taurus, but has a smoother thicker feel to it. It feels alot like leather.

Sound Quality : 10
Well I use a prs ce 22 with emg 81 and 85's in it. Ripped out the five way rotary put in a three way toggle switch. Blocked the tremolo with a piece of hard maple. Now where in business! This guitar resonates like no other. It's better than most setneck prs's, and i've owned em. Well lets talk about amplification. I am using a mesa boogie dc-5 head with two channel switching, and an assignable five band eq to either or both channels. It has reverb if you like that sort of thing. I am a rock and roller I like a stripped down sound. I like pushing the power tubes as much as the front end gain. A nice combination of power tube, preamp tube, speaker breakup. Get the formula down and you will be one a happy camper. Well lately I have been into some classic rock tones, and very bluesy tones. I also am a heavy ass speed riffin machine. Think master of puppets sounds and ride the lightning. That's the kinds of sounds I get. I can also dialup those great vintage fender tones. My amp doesn't do marshall. Does a very nice overdriven fender like SRV and super heavy metallica tone. This cab will make you grin from ear to ear. You will have to set your eq lower than usual, because of the efficiency of it. That being said it will even cover more ground now! Because you have more to work with. Once you find your sweet spot you will love this cab. This beats the marshall cab you know the 4x12 with greenbacks, but thats still a great sounding cab. My brothers got an earcandy cab also and he said now he has this big 1000 dollar marshall cab sitting there just taking up valuable space. Lets face it we all don't have the room for half stacks, but we want that sound. I connected my 2x12 mesa boogie recto to it and ran both. Usually the more the better right? Wrong! It ruined the sweet tone of the earcandy cab. I couldn't believe it! So you know where I stand there. And I loved that cab before I heard earcandy. It even beats the second runner up in my opinion the old vht fat bottom cab with vintage thirties. Which are not available any more with vintage thirties. Doesn't matter you have earcandy and their better. I highly recomend people try setting their eq's a little lower seeing what they think of it then especially if your a boogie owner. It's basically a 4x12 sound in a compact 2x12 cab. And still beats most half stacks I've had the miserable time owning and hoping to get that sound. Plus you don't need a special room, or garage just to store it. If only I knew about earcandy long before I wasted so much money. This is how you get the sound in your head out! This cab will crank so loud, and never fart out or buzz. Also the best part is you can play loud and never get ear fatigue. Which is great because you need to crank up the tube amps for them to really shine. You can do this with out getting a headache. Now that's what I was looking for! My amp has so much bottom end most half stacks couldn't handle it with my settings even at lower volumes. But this does just fine and doesnt sound like its crying for help. If you can play and have good technique you will love it. Sounds awesome!

Reliability : 10
Can you depend on it? Oh yeah! This is hand built with blood, sweat, and tears. Doesn't get any better than this.

Tim is a great guy to deal with, and I hope to keep in touch with him. He has talked with me on my designs, and his designs to the wee hours of the night. I definetly wouldn't worry if anything happened I know Tim would take care of it. God bless ya and keep the faith my friend.

I've been around guitars and playing for around 18 years. I own a boogie cab, boogie amp, Prs guitar and proco cables, and now earcandy. I have had so many guitars. I could go on and on about the awesome guitars I have owned, but I won't anyways it would just bum me out wishing I still had them. I am an amp and guitar kind of guy I used to have every effect under the sun, and rack equipment. You remember the late eighties don't you? If an amp doesn't cut it now with out effects then the amp won't cut it period in my opinion. I have had my amp for about ten years that's how versatile it is. If this cab were stolen I would collect the insurance and get the exact same cab. I got what I wanted this is what Tim does. I love everthing about it the sound, the looks, the feel. It smokes anything out their beleive me I am not biased one bit this is the honest truth. If anything I am a mesa nut. I have tried almost everything under the sun. But there are some cab companies I haven't tried, but I've checked most out and the ones I havent I went on their web sites. Nothing really coming close in my opinion. Most of them didn't have the quality of wood and inner wiring, or they skimped on something somewhere. This is the best out there. Especially at the price you pay! Some companies may offer some glammy symbol. But who cares! If you have had problems looking for that sound you have been always wanting. I strongly recomend you go to the earcandycabs web site and get yourself one, and do some research on speakers. Look up your favorite bands and see what they use. Then have Tim put them in it. Do your research on the speakers you want first trust me on this. And by the way earcandy has got the other cab companies paranoid with their crappy particle board cabinetry, and cheap wiring. Earcandy is totally cutting edge. It's completely BS what the other cab companies try to give us for are hard earned money. I'm out of here! Get off your stupid computer and play guitar!

Tim built my Buzz Bomb to my exact spec's. He provided great advice in the grey areas of my design. I couldn't be happier with this speaker. I run it through a Mesa Mark IV head, and it absolutely screams. Full clear whole toned clean channel. Nice low end response. Full bodied gain channel response. It gives you that "big sound" for sure. I haven't gigged with this speaker yet. I will follow up with more detailed feedback when I have some hours under my belt with it.

I purchased this in June, 2004. As you may have read this is a 2 12" Guitar Cabinet that is available baffled, not baffled, mono, stereo, mono-stereo. You get the idea, you customize it. First off Tim the owner is great. He communicates with you and really wants you to be satisfied with the purchase. I knew I was in for a treat when I received the Cabinet in a custom designed cushioned box like shipping package. Foam totally surrounding this wonderful speaker cabinet. Class and effort in shipping to go with an unbelieveable buy.

I decided on a stereo mono switchable cabinet with one port and Eminemce Legend 121/125 speakers already installed. Two different speakers was a notion I had not considered. Glad Tim and his people had! Just like his eBay advertisement, punch and high end.

The concept hear is that if you want a Marshall go for it. But if you want unbelieveable tone and to stand out, think Ear Candy. I have a Marshall 4x12" which sounds good but Better after I added Carvin Speakers made by Eminence. Was going to buy a Marshall 1936 2x12" Cabinet;glad I rethought that decision.

Sound Quality : 10
I have played my Carvin,Wolfgang,Strat and SG through this. Have a custom rig and my trusty Marshall JCM800 50 watt which I played through this baby. Talk about clarity clean and crispness dirty. WOW! It is efficient and side by side made my Marshall Cabinet look OK vs. Ear Candy's wow!!! The key is to listen quiet and loud. Soft passages will sing and ring out while driving styles will give you awesome bottom (just like the ads and the reviewers said). The Eminence Speakers handle the volume and honestly I think they rival most. I am not a fan of the newer Celestions(I used to love my old Marshall cab in the 70's with the real greenbacks). But taste is in the ear of the beholder.

Another point on efficiency, it is built into this baby. You really hear the clarity so practice more like a reviewer below points out.

Reliability : 10
I can already tell that Tim will stand out in this catagory. The amount of eMails I received before and after delivery is a testament.

Customer Support : 10
Ditto hear!!!! 7 year warranty on speakers. Lifetime on the cabinet. Lifetime because these things are built right and ready for the road.

I have been playing for over 25 years and know sound. Please understand that excitement is due to a great product not inexperience. I would definately replace this if stolen. I compared this to other products and cabinets before sale and after. This wins hands down. Great value for the money and I think a great secret that will not be a secret long! Rock it out!!! Buy it.

This is one very well made cabinet. While "versatile" and speaker cabinets don't necessarily go together, I did rate a "10" because these cabs are "Made To Order". Other than the basic size of 28x18x16, you have several wood choices, tuns of exterior choices, tuns of speaker choices, wiring choices....In other words you design your own cab. Want orange? You got it. Basic black? You got it. Want stereo? No problem. Check the web site for all your options.

Sound Quality : 10
I was looking for a 2-12 cab that sounded big and full like a 4x12 cab, light, built like a tank and looked great. That's exactly what I got. Seems everyone knows the Marshall 1936 2-12 cab. Using this cab as a reference, the Buzz Bomb has a lot more depth and bottom, more definition, fuller and louder. I'm sure the extra depth has everything to do with it. I ordered my 2 cabinets unloaded and was able to compare the actual two Celestian G12T-75s that came in my Marshall 1936 to the sound they produced in the Buzz Bomb...and what a significant difference for the good!!!!

I'm using my cabs with a Rivera Knucklehead Reverb, Carvin Legacy, Carvin Vintage 50 head, and a Revera Fandango head. All these heads are different and all their differences are like "Heaven to my Ears" through the Buzz Bomb. Whether it's the floor shaking from the Knucklehead or country twang through the Carvin Vintage 50, these cabs let these head speak their mind really, really, really well.

As an aside, this "little" 2-12 cab holds it's own next to my Rivera KS4-12 cab. Adding the Rivera Los Bottom single 12 sub makes it sound every bit as good as the Rivera KS3-12 with the sub built in, and easier to tote.

Reliability : 10
When I was talking to Tim (who by the way is incredibly accessable via Email) he told me to take a hard look at the interior of the cabs before loading the speakers. He leaves the inside unfinished so you can see the quality of the wood used...could be cabinet grade.. :-) Well braced, clean cuts, clean inside....you should've seen what the Marshall looked like...Other than speaker problems, and I'm using Celestian G12T-75s in both, I could drop this off the van and expect no problems.

Customer Support : 10
Tim is very, very easy to get a hold of..My unloaded cabinets came complete with all the hardware plus extras. Tim even sent me the wire connetors and some soldier!!! He did leave out the soldiering iron and screw driver.....I mean really :-)

Overall Rating : 10
Do yourself a favor and check out the web site...I don't have enough space to brag on these Cabinets.

This cabinet was made in May 2004 by Tim. This was a birthday present from my woman and boy was this BY FAR the best present i've ever received. This cab is constructed from maple, 2 ports, top hat handles, cabby-cab mod, extra feet for either vertical or horizontal positioning. Also has a killer super tough naugahyde vinyl that looks totally kick ass. I have a really classy looking "v" weave prototype fabric over the speaker grille which as tim told me was the first cab with it on. Coincidentally, it was photographed and put on his start page on his website, and many people emailed him asking who's cab that was. THis thing totally looks awesome, by far the best looking cab i've ever seen. The tolex / vinyl stuff is so tight, you would almost think it was painted on. In fact, tim has invented a truly unique method of getting the vinyl to come out so perfect (which i'm not at liberty to comment on). Top quality work everywhere, even a hand signed serial number. The speakers i selected were chosen so that this cab would be versatile for a bunch of different musical genres. THis cab has an Eminence Legend 121 and also a Legend 125. They are wired with the combo jack mod for use in a stereo setup, but also have a locking mono jack for mono use. This cab is sealed inside, relatively lightweight compared to those mass produced MDF pieces of crap.

Sound Quality : 10
The first thing i noticed when first playing through this cab was the transparency of the sound. Like a previous reviewer mentioned, any flaw in your playing style will not be masked. THis is good and bad in my opinion. Good because the subtle nuances of your playing style will be revealed. Bad because, if you're like me, you realize now that you need to practice alot more because you can now hear any and every mistake you make. This thing rings out clear and true. You'll also be surprised by how much louder and heavier this cab sounds than a typical 2x12. The porting makes this thing more efficient and it just sounds great! I was concerned that this woudl sound boomy like a bandpass subwoofer car speaker cabinet but to my surprise this is not the case. Notes are tight and slamming, but power chords have this natural compression that just seems to go on and on and on...

Reliability : 10
Tim tests these personally by playing through them for about 40minutes before shipping them. This thing is literally built like a tank. I big black tank, with a silver grille and sound just dripping out of it. I was going to go with a Marshall 1936 stereo cabinet, but come on - the dealer wanted $485 for a mass-produced POS and was not going to haggle. Screw that! THat cab was built from MDF (seriously) and plastic hardware (again, seriously). Tim's cab (which cost me less) is hand built with love and pride using nothing but the best hardware (powder coated metal, made in the USA!) The wood is just that, wood! no particle board, or crap MDF. Don't get me wrong, MDF is a dead sounding material great for use in Hi-fi audio speakers because you want to project the actual sound without coloration. However, in guitar cabinets you want to hear the coloring and interaction between your speakers and the wood. Unless you want a sterile sounding rig (like behringer cabs), MDF would be a bad choice for tone in a guitar cabinet.

Customer Support : 10
Here is where Tim and Earcandy shine. Tim and I spent alot of time on the phone / email to discover what i really wanted in a cab. I'm very pleased (in fact, could not possibly praise Tim enough) with the way i was treated. Tim is obviously a very busy guy, yet he never made me feel like i was wasting his time.

After receiving my cab, i emailed tim about my speaker grille being slightly warped. He said it could be to humidiy / climate changes but he said he woudl send out a replacement free of charge if it didn't straighten out in the next couple days. How is that for standing behind your product? Honestly, with all the time he personally spends on each and every cab he builds, i kind of feel guilty that he only charged what he did. This cab is worth much more because it represents a culmination of many hours of hard dedicated work by a master craftsman and an artist.

I can only wish the best for Tim and his company. I look forward to hearing about their success at the next NAMM show. I will heartily recommend his work to anyone. I hope that he gains a broader customer base by educated consumers who read these reviews. Hopefully his quality of craftsmanship will continue to stay high and not fall with volume like Marshall and other cabinet manufacturers.

I should also note that the packaging job on this cab was absolutely stellar. My FedEx guy (who is really awesome by the way) mentioned that this was the best packaging job he's ever seen on a box that big / heavy. From a guy who is brutally honest about everything (just ask him about tree-huggin' hippies and liberal art students) this means a lot.

As far as warranty goes, lifetime on the cabinet. the speakers carry a 5 year warranty i believe. i don't anticipate having to send anything back for warranty work. This is top quality stuff, and built to last.

Overall Rating : 10
My name is mario. You should know that i'm an engineer, so my words may lack passion but they are true, accurate and non-biased. I play guitar in a rock / blues band on the side for fun. Ive been playing guitar for about 10 years now, and have quite a few guitars in my collection. Peavey wolfgang standard, brian moore i1F, American Standard Strat, American Fat Strat Texas Special, Yamaha CPX8SY acoustic / electric. My rack consists of a Tech-21 PSA-1 preamp, a TC Electronics G-Major effects unit, a Mosvalve MV-962 (which tim also plays btw) and a AKG guitarbug wireless system. All controlled by a behringer FCB-1010 floor controller (very useful for the $90 price). I found that after playing this cab, i had to adjust alot of my presets to accomodate for the additional low end and clarity that this cab offers. That is not a big deal, it was expected.

Overall for the money, you can't get a better cab anywhere for any price. I've checked. This is a piece of functional art and is truly world class. His customer support, quality of materials and workmanship deserve recognition.

Tim - if you're reading this, Thank you. Keep up the excellent work!

I play extremely heavy music in one band and top 40 in another.
we mixed woods and things, it is extremely versatile
It has a combo jack that allows me to use 2 different heads and a a-b switch. It has the diamond plate and a removable grill cloth.
I put the cloth on when we play the wedding a soft target gigs and take it off when we play in the bars and heavy stuff, to show off the plating which looks awesome when the stage light hits it. It is loaded with thier favorite 121's. It is a 300 watt cab by every means. The speakers can withstand anything my head throws at it and they maintain a crystal clear clean tone at very high volume levels. The cab is covered in a thick Vinyl that makes all other cab coverings look cheap. It has exactly what i asked for and the quality exceeded expectations so Ill give this part a 10

Sound Quality : 10
Gibson LesPaul with a boogie triple rec and a customshop tele with a fender pro reverb.
All factory pups, fx are A old Alesis quadroverb and midi pedal. Thats it.
This cab is as quiet as it can possibly be, no hums or scratchy jacks. They come sealed. It can literaly handle 100 full tubed watts with the lespaul drop tuned to d without farting. And with the tele I can be as loud and as clean as i want. Brutal does not describe the tone and projection of this cab, It really does hang with my old riv412, no questions, it sounds way better and has better clarity/definition. I hate giving 10 after 10, seems impossible, but its true, i have not heard a sound out of this cab i didnt like, ok , so give it a 8 right, but, it allows me to turn my controls down and maintain a awesome level and eq balance with half the time and work. it is pretty much plug and play so for its over all tone and ability to handle my needs, it gets a 10

Reliability : No Opinion
to soon to really say, the sound impressed me so, i had to do a review on it, seems built like a tank, tim says they like to keep the cabs looking good so if i ever need anything to just email or call. it also has a lifetime warranty, warm fuzzys! but too soon to say, so ill opt out of rating this catagorey

Very strong communication, felt at home after about 3 emails and realized how serious this guy takes this cabinet crap. Usually no one emails me back, they answered all of my questions, if the phones not busy, they'll even talk to you on the phone.
the way this thing was packed was amazing, 2"foam, all shrinkwrapped.
the shipping was as pro as the cab.
Were you able to find
an authorized service center easily?
Let me break it first, i can break anything.
How long is the warranty?
Lifetime warranty

Overall Rating : 10
Playing for 17 years now and into a rut of old gear, the ole reliable. So i was skeptical but got excited after I got the thing and jammed it out. It is a new tone, but finally a good one.
I would definately buy another one of the same thing
The friendliness of the company and tim, made me look forward to ordering another one, but 1 is enough. I love its brutality in look and volume, its ability to change with the removable grill and between the boogie and proreverb the buzzbomb can do anything. Our sand man loves it, i cant wait to record with this thing. What I hate about it was, it is so accurate (for the lack of a better word) that it showed me where i need to practice, it brought out the details in my playing. i got so excited about it and it took a few weeks to get which they told me it would, this is one case where it was well worth the wait. I cant see me wanting anything else in a cab, i never thought it could make such a difference, i figured, a mesa 412 or my old riv, what else would i need, but got tired of carrying them around.
I wish it had a tshirt and sticker with it.
As far as the whole feel of this piece of gear in my overall rig, Its my fav next to my lespaul now, it is to say the least, a tone tool beyond anyother cabinet makers dreams and a piece of artwork, id recomend them to anyone tired of the same old crap that is way over priced and over rated, get what you want with this company, colors , whatever. overall rating, AMAZING

My cabs were built in April of '04 to my specifications. They are all-birch cabs featuring two 2" ports in the center. They both feature beautifully stained back panels and front baffles. The spring-loaded handles are fabulous and don't detract from the interior space of the cabs. The black fuzz covering is indestructible and the plastic chevron corners provides tons of protection.
Because Tim Paulsen at Ear Candy offers numerous choices in every aspect of the cab's design, you can decide which features are right for you. I chose the options I wanted and it came out fabulous.

I use my Buzzbombs to amplify my Line 6 Vetta HD and '77 Ibanez Les Paul Copy (a "lawsuit model"). We play mostly metal/hardcore/hard rock stuff and the sound is killer. I had Tim load one of the cabs with Madison Symphonies and the other I loaded with Eminence Modeling 12s. Both cabs sound absolutley monstrous when I crank up the distortion. There is certainly enough tight low-end to satisfy anyone's needs. The cab with the modeling twelve sounds fantastic when I play with my acoustic Basque Folk music trio. With the right speakers, these are very versatile, very usable, very musical cabs.
When I place the cabs apart from each other the stereo options on the vetta really come to life! The stereo sound is incredible. Getting two of these things was a wise choise, but one would be plenty loud enough for almost any situation. A previous reviewer said that it sounded like a little gnome was shooting the sound out with a firehouse. I would agree, the sound is very distinct, clear, and smooth without seeming forced. I think the ported design really makes for a smooth, accurate sound. I'm very happy.
I gave these cabs a 9 only because I don't believe that perfection is possible in terms of sound. These are a ten for my needs, but I could never tell anyone else that they sounded "perfect."

Well, the construction of these things impressed me the moment I first saw them. Tim packaged them incredibly well and it was apparent they were built to last as soon as I picked them up. However, some of the soldering and wood work looks less than perfect on the inside. Overall, I had no problems trusting them for awhile, they seem absolutely indestructible, but this morning something happened.
I only had the madison loaded cab (coincidentally, this is the one that Tim wired for me) at my house when I was getting ready for my morning guitar practice. It only took a moment to realize that one of the speakers was not working. stone dead. I pulled it apart and could not find any problem with wiring. It had worked only a few days before when I gigged with it (without a backup). I am not sure what happened, but something went wrong real quick with one of the cabs, which surprised me to no end.
Ultimately, I am confident that this is the only problem I will have with the cabs. The construction is top-notch. However, something went wrong after only a couple of weeks, which is a major bummer. Every other experience I have had with these cabs has instilled nothing but confidence in me.

Customer Service is where Ear Candy really shines. I went back and looked at my inbox and found that Tim and I have sent at least 30 emails back and forth. Tim was there every step of the way-- planning, building, shipping, and checking up afterwards. He was incredibly helpful. Ear Candy has surpassed my customer service expectations in every way! Tim Paulsen should get some kind of award. Thanks Tim!!!

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing the majority of my life, about 13 years now. I own my old 77 Ibanez Les Paul and a 77 Ibanez 12 String Hummingbird (both "lawsuit" models), a Line 6 Vetta HD, and super-nice Cobalt Cables (can't recommend them enough). These buzzbombs work great in my setup. Even though they haven't been lost or stolen, I want another one so I don't always have to bring one home from rehearsal!!! If they were stolen, I would get new ones but would probably opt for some nice colored covering rather than the black fuzz.

Compared to my Carvin 4x12, the two Ear Candy 2x12s absolutely kill it. Having two seperate cabs opens up big possibilities in stereo, plus the sound just makes the Carvin set up seem amateur. I love that my cabs look totally different from everyone else's here in rural nevada. All these dudes try to be cool by using Marshall and Fender cabs, but then they see my custom made, beautifully stained birch cabs and feel sheepish.

My only complaint is that they took a few weeks longer to be built than I had been told. Also, they came with slightly different options than I asked for. For example, the cab I ordered with two madison symphonies arrived with one symphony and one opus. Tim promptly replied as soon as I told him and I am getting a new speaker shipped. Also, in a rare example of a being pleasantly surprised when something gets mixed up in construction, my cabs shipped with the nicer, more expensive locking jacks that I didn't pay for.

Ultimately, I would recommend Ear Candy cabs to anyone. The excellent range of models and options should provide what any guitarist is looking for. Tim is a pleasure to work with and the product of his labor is top-notch. Although I chose nine up above, a 9.7 rating is a more accurate rating for my Ear Candy Buzzbombs.

This 2x12" speaker cab came with Madison Speakers, Aluminum Diamond Plate, My choice of color (Ox Blood)and they even wired it the way I needed.
When I took it out of the box I was floored at how great this thing looks. It truely is the Harley Davidson of speaker cabs.
The handles on this thing are fantastic, when it comes to speaker cabs I have only seen this style of handle on the Genz Benz super expensive signature model.
I use this with my Line 6 Vetta and my 5150.

Sound Quality : 10
I play all kinds of music and this speaker cab does not pigeon hole me into any certain type. If you want to crush people, it will do it - no sweat. You want people to feel your blues ? No problem. This thing can sound like a 4x12 if you want. I could not be happier... unless I had 2 of 'em.

Reliability : 10
I can't see how there could be any problem with it..ever. I have played a long time can tell this cab is built like a rock.

There is no way that I can put into words how great I think this company is. The rep. I dealt with, Tim Paulsen, treated me like I was a rock star getting ready to tour. Go and buy a cab from him, then you will know how great he is.

This cab is great. I wish I had two of 'em.
Use your head people !! Great cab, great sound, great price.
Quit being monkeys that follow everyone else and buy the same over-priced cab everyone else uses. Be a leader, try something new and different.. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY IF YOU GET ONE !!!
This thing sounds as good or better than its Mesa, Genz Benz or Line 6 competition and looks better hands down. But then again... I am not a person that likes boring stuff... this thing is like a playboy centerfold handing me an ice cold Bud... it just can't look no better.

If it were stolen, I'd get another..
