I have used this amp for ultra mellow jazz, SREAMING leads, and
country twang... it does it all with an exceptional voice. The MIDI switching is wonderful once the amp is talking with all your other gadgets. I have had this amp for over two years and my dependence on it an love for it have only grown.

Sound Quality : 10
It runs ultra quiet, with silent channel switching. This thing gets louder than any set of ears could possibly stand, if sheer volume is a concern. The first two channels range from spongy, reverb-rich, butter smooth clean to bit of dirty. Channels 3 and 4 go from plexi to plexi on plutonium trigger.

Reliability : 9
I have gigged it and it has performed wonderfully, though this amp needs a case. It is too nice and collectible. I know one other person with this amp, and his had channel switchin problems. But it was cured and no problems since.

Customer Support : 10
Talked to egnater himself, who apologized for the wait on getting mine built. Now I take pride in the fact that this thing was nurtured so...

Overall Rating : 10
I now play acoustic violin with a pickup through this amp in a band called the single malt band out of colorado. The fiddle tunes are explosive since we started using amps. I thank the maker that I had this from my guitar playing days. I will never sell it and I feel bad for folks that will never have the benefit of gorgeous tone.

This is a Pre-Rocktron all tube TOL 100 Reverb Combo. 100% hand built and made to last. It uses 7 preamp tubes and 4 EL34's. I play just about any style of music ranging from country to metal and this amp does it all beautifully. Four channels: Fender Clean, SRV broken up, Steve Vai Ultra Smooth high gain, and Bogner meets Marshall higher gain (smooth and crunchy). The first two channels have bright swithes that really add some sparkle to your tone (normal, bright 1, bright 2). The high gain channels have different amp voicings (vintage, modern 1, modern 2). Modern 1 gives it a higher gain sound than the others, modern 2 has less crunch than modern 1. The amp also has a 4 button footswtich, individual gain and master volumes per channel, a global volume, effects loop, density control for bass boost, reverb which is panable to the channels you want it on the most, midi compatible, and a recording out. Finally the amp is compilmented with two 12" Celestion Vintage 30 speakers (the best ever made! IMHO). Could you ask for more features?

Sound Quality : 10
My main axe is a KV-1 USA Jackson V with Seymour Duncans. The most versitle axe I've ever played (I've played them all Fender, Gibson, PRS, just name it). My main style constists of a Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Gary Hoey mixture. This amp is perfect for what I play and I can't think of any style short of death metal (buy a soild state and 12 stomp boxes!) that it wouldn't be good for. The amp has almost no noise to it. The clean channel doesn't push as much as the others but that's easy to fix with the individual master volumes. You'll have a great tone as soon as you plug in! Sounds like a 4x12 cab when it's cranked! Best sounding amp I've ever played no question about it!

Reliability : No Opinion
I have gigged with it and it performs beautifully. I use it without a backup. I feel I haven't had the amp long enough to rate it fairly (need at least 6 months or more). I will post a follow up later.

I have talked with Bruce Eganter personally and he has even told me about some interesting mods. You couldn't ask for better service.

If this was stolen I would turn into Jack Torrence from the Shining (All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. All work...). Seriously I would have to get another. This amp sounds amazing, I recommend it to any serious guitarist. I've either played or owned them all; Mesa Boogies, Marshall, Rivera's, Carvin's, Soldano's, etc. This is the cream of the crop. If you find one of these buy it.

100W 2x12 (Celestion V-30's) handbuilt all-tube ("no transistors!") combo. Four channels: two "American"-voiced (read: Fender) and two "British"-voiced. Two sets of tone controls, one for each pair of channels. Channels switchable by top-panel switch, MIDI, or optional footswitch. 3-position bright switch for Channel 1 (clean American channel), 3-position voicing switch ("Vintage, Modern 1, or Modern 2) for channels 3 & 4. Reverb voicing control, which allows infinite variation between "British" and "American" reverb voicings. Each channel has independant gain and master volume controls; loudness is controlled by separate, overall master volume. Channel masters also act as send levels for effects loop; overall master acts as return. Effects loop is series (not parallel), and is tube-buffered. Master "Density" control acts as bass boost in 100-hz region. Two speaker outputs with selectable impedence (4, 8, 16). Slave out, polarity switch, mains fuse, blown tube fuse, MIDI in- and thru- inputs. 4-EL34's (Groove Tubes) and 7-12AX7's.

I play blues, blues-rock, funky stuff, fusion, progressive rock, and hard rock. I've _never_ plugged into an amplifier that has the versatility of this amp. It will absolutely _nail_ a vintage Fender (Matchless, Mesa Blue-Angel) tone (with EL34's!!), a super Texas-blues tone, all the way up to "classic" plexi-tones to a total thrash. My previous amp was a Boogie MKII 100W, and this thing kills it! Channel 1 gets a beautiful, crystalline, spongy, singing clean tone, and has terrific clean headroom; Channel 2 is more-biting, with more of the TX-blues tone; Channel 3 is great for rock chunk, though it also gets fantastic blues-rock tones, and can shred if needed; and Channel 4 gets obscene gain, but again acking it off yields an awesome array of tone, from Santana to speed metal thrash. It will get a Boogie-type singing lead tone, but the tone is more crisp and punchy than a Boog; plus, the muddy bass you get when playing a chord in the Boog's lead channel isn't there; it's like the perfect blend of Boogie and Marshall, but has a much better tone than either. In particular, it works great with PRS guitars; it sounds great with either single-coil or humbuckers, and is very sensitive to pickup/volume changes, so that even within one channel an astonishing variety of tonal/stylistic variations are possible. In short, if you get the chance, TRY THIS AMP!! The one drawback: it's HEAVY; over 100 lbs. But it'll get so much chunk with that Density control, you can leave the cabinet at home.

Lifetime warranty, so I'd think it's roadworthy. Too new to tell as far as long-term reliability.

Customer Support : 10
Again, lietime warranty. Have spoken with Bruce Egnater personally (assembly is done by him and two other guys; small outfit!), and he's a very nice and helpful guy.

Overall Rating : 10
Sure, it's expensive, but since it's like having 4 killer vintage-to- modern tube amps in one, it's worth it, particularly when comparing features with other amps in this pricerange. And oh, what tones!!
