Warm sounding with a clear, bell-like top end. Late break-up. Loud speaker is very responsive to pick attack. Handles pedals exceptionally. Designed to sound like a vintage JBL D130F.

I bought the Commonwealth 15 to place in a 100w 72 Twin Reverb rather than the standard two 12's (think Vibroverb on steroids). Sounded incredible but the dust cap shredded when using humbuckers that were heavily distorted. Eminence replaced the speaker and the same thing happened to the second speaker. My amp tech replaced the aluminum dust cap with a paper cap and it sounds good, but without the clear top end and with more pronounced mids. He said that there was a problem with the way that the dust cap was mounted on the speaker not allowing the cone to properly flex when pushed.

The company was excellent to work with. They offered suggestions when I was choosing speakers and they replaced the first speaker while I was away on vacation. I hadn't even returned it and the second one was waiting at my home when I returned. Emails returned very quickly. Great customer service and support.

Have been playing off and on for over 30 years. Own 6 Fender amps (Frontman 25 with an Eminence Rajin Cajun, Blues Jr. with a Jensen P12N, Hot Rod Deluxe with Jensen RI P12N, Custom Vibrolux Reverb, Blues DeVille 4x10 with 2 Eminence blue alnico's and 2 Jensen RI P10Q'a and the Twin Reverb). I play a MIJ Strat, MIJ Tele with Lindy Fralins, Les Paul Deluxe, PRS Soapbar II with Lindy Fralins, Agile AL3000 and Samick 335 copy with Gibson Classic 57's. Due to reliability problems I decided to buy a 100w Weber Michigan 15" to replace the Commonwealth 15. The Rajin Cajun I have is a great speaker and the two Blue Alnico's in my Blues DeVille are very good speakers. If they could solve this problem with the dust cap, the Commonwealth 15 would be a great speaker for those who want max headroom and the ability to handle overdrive and distortion. As is, I would not recommend the speaker if you are using more than 50 watts in your amp.
