I recently bypassed the onboard speakers in my Fender Cyber Twin SE and hooked up 2 1x12 extension cabinets loaded with the Delta Pro 12A's. After a 10-12 hour "settling-in" period the difference in tone was unbelievable. These speakers do not color the amp or effects, so what you hear is what it is. The sound quality is awesome and they are LOUD but very controllable. These speakers are normally used for Pro Audio but are sleeper speakers for guitar cabinets. While researching speakers and cabinets I found more custom cabinet builders are using them because they do not add "flavor" or color.

I have no resevations gigging with this setup as long as someone else moved them around for me. Man they are heavy!

I contacted Eminence via email and explained what I was looking for regarding sound and the equipment being used. The Delta Pro 12A was mentioned and they promply replied that these would be ideal for my application. They also requested that I send them a report after they were installed and used for a while just to make sure I was satisfied, I did and I am. The folks at Eminence did really seam to care and that is a good thing these days. They reminded me that the speakers came with a 7 year warranty against manufacturing defects and feed back from users was very important.

This old "fat cat with a strat" has been playing too many years to count and wanted to try something different; at this point I am tonally satisfied with the Delta Pro's. Granted I could have saved some bucks going with the stamped frame but chose the cast frame instead strickly out of preference. If you are looking for speakers that do not color your sound effects try these. I would do it all over again if they were stolen but as heavy as they are the crook would probably be in traction from the weight; provided he survived the dogs/bullets!

If you are like me and you are never really happy with your sound, then these speakers are for you. I used a 4-10 Peavey cabinet with a GK Backline 600 for many years and needed to down size, big is not always better. So I bought a 2-12 cabinet for a company called Legion Sound, nice cab but the speakers were not so hot (rated for 300 rms should have been like 150 rms). My friend who owns a music shop ordered my two Eminence Delta 12" speakers and WOW what a sound. They are what every bassist is looking for, they are deep in the low and clean with the highs or mid range. I play bass in a Country/Rock band so I need that kind of versity.

I've been playing bass since 1990 and played almost everything on the market. But the speakers with a GK head sound great. I think these speakers are great for any style of music, since my band plays everything from Toby Keith to Metallica. Now I'm looking at getting 2 15" for my Fender 2-15 Bassman for the bigger and outdoors shows.

I needed an extension cab for my Evans JE150 jazz amp. That amp has a Eminence Deltalite 12" speaker so I wanted a similar sound. I compared specs and this one came closest at less cost. It is in an Avater closed back 1 X 12 cab. For Jazz, this speaker is outstanding - a rich warmth across bass and midrange frequency with a smooth treble. It is also very fast although the attack is not harsh at all. I expected it to perform as well as the Deltalite. The suprise was when I hooked it up to my Heritage Patriot Combo (1 X 12" 50 watt). This amp requires you to disconnect the internal speaker to use an outboard cab. The sound with this tube amp was outstanding. I now want to only use this speaker with that amp. Clean of course was great as with the Evans, but the distortion sound was better that the on board speaker (Eminence Texas Heat). Warm and full, but tight and responsive while not being too harsh in the attack - great! The Texas Heat is a very chunky speaker which is not to my taste. Very pleased with this Delta 12.

I'm finding that I like high powered, flatter response speakers with my amps. This Delta is an outstanding example of this. I highly recommend this is you want the speaker to just articulate what your amp is saying - no more, no less. Great headroom too of course with the wattage. This speaker has a pretty high spl of 100 dbs for such a high wattage speaker. Cool.

I play through a variety of guitars (archtops, semi-hollows and solid bodies). I was looking for something similar to an EVL12, but not as bright. My current amplification is a Fuchs ODS 100 head. The sounds I go for are straight up jazz, fusion and blues. I've tried various Celestions and Eminence drivers. The Delta Pro 12A is the one that I kept going back to. It's very balanced and sounds good for all the styles mentioned. Whether you play clean or dirty, this speaker will not impose a sound on you. It merely reproduces what you put into it. I've used the speaker with a an Acoustic Image Clarus 1 head, an Evans 200 solid State head and of course the mighty Fuchs ODS 100 tube head. They all sound good with this driver. I also have a Fuchs FAT 1S driver, which shares many similar characteristics with the Delta Pro, but the Delta Pro just sounds fuller and richer overall. The only minor drawback is the weight. I currently house this driver in a Rich Raezer Stealth 12 cabinet. I also have two larger 1x12 cabs and a 2x12 with Tone Tubbies. I find myself going back to this little cabinet 99% of the time. What I don't like is a heavy bass sound. Fullness with balance is what I prefer. My guitar of choice is a 335.
Whether you place the Delta Pro in an open or closed back, larger and small cab, it still delivers the most balanced sound to my ears.

No issues. It's rated to handle 400 watts. So it should handle pretty much anything you can throw at it.

Currently my favorite driver. However, due to the weight, I've been meaning to try the newer eminence Wizard, but hadn't gotten around to it yet. Aside from weight, I have no reservations in using this driver in all my cabs for the applications mentioned.
I've been playing guitar for over 30 years and have pretty much netted out gear that works or don't work for me. This is a definite keeper. If a full balanced sound is what you're seeking, you owe it to yourself to try one of these.

I play many styles and use Gibson, Fender and PRS guitars thru varied amps. I bought these along with a Tonker, a Governer, and a Swamp Thing and compared them in to vintage and reissue 25 watt Greenbacks in Plexi era 4x12 cabs and a 1x12 cab open and closed back.
I have to say the Delta Pro's sounded the most like the Greenbacks of the four Eminences and sounded the best. They had a very similar voice but a little brighter, cleaner and no mud on the bottom.
These are great guitar speakers that would sound right for many styles. If you want speaker distortion/fizz/buzz go elsewhere. The only issue's are perhaps price and weight. You won't want to carry a 4x12 up a flight of stairs.

I've been playing since 1972 and own a ton of modern and vintage gear.I really like these speakers for guitar but haven't tried them for bass yet. My favorites are the Greenbacks but I don't have to worry about blowing these. With a little EQ I can get very close.

This speaker is a 400W monster (80 oz magnet) that is primarily designed for bass and PA use; however, it also is touted as a perfect substitute for the discontinued ElectroVoice EVM12L. It only is made in 8-ohm version.

I discovered this speaker a few years ago and I just HAVE to have one of these in my cab. I use a pair of 2x12 closed-back cabs (VHT) and pair this with a 16ohm speaker and call it good as a 4 ohm cab. This is an incredibly smooth speaker with very little breakup. It works well with preamp/amp systems where you have a lot of gain and don't really want much speaker breakup. It has of course a very tight and punchy low-end, but what surprises is how smooth it is for soloing high on the guitar neck. Smooth legato passages that sing? Harmonic squeals? No problem! Clear and won't rip your head off with nasty gritty high-end like some speakers (eg. Vintage 30's) can.

The 8 ohm rating is fine for a 1x12 cab, but less-than-ideal for combining with other speakers. But then, it was made for bass applications, so... Aside from that, complimenting this speaker with something that adds a bit of breakup/crunch coloration will give you a perfect hard-hitting kick-ass cab that covers the whole range smoothly. If you play classic rock, you don't really need it, if you play in some dyke indie band, well...you should play some piece of shit amp and not give it any thought. If punk is your thing, get some half-blown Marshall cab with British drivers. If you play instrumental melodic METAL, where you need a cab that doesn't fart out on C or D tuning or 7-strings, and want to hear notes clearly, take a look at these.
