Using a Les Paul into an Ampeg SJ-12R, 50 watt 1 X 12" combo. This speaker elicits a wide, warm and mellow tone. It really stays clean at high volumes which doesn't suprise given its 150 watt power rating. I replaced the stock speaker with this and got the results I needed - more headroom for clean playing. The doping makes the cone a bit less reactive, very slightly damping the cone action - almost behaving like a limiter that takes out sharp spikes when you hit the notes hard - I like this but many players don't. In sum - it handles the heavy jazz tone from my guitar.

See sound quality - a great speaker for jazz or other high powered clean playing.

Don't know much, 8ohm, 150w, 10lbs,feels very solid

I wanted this for my spider2 112combo, as the stock speaker (celestion g12p, a seventy80 IMO) couldn't stand the full clean power.
I need a strong bass, clear mids and fine treble as I mostly play power funk. The reason I chose the line6 is that it stays absolutely clean at full speed, and I am pleased.
The legend121 delivers, no questions. It is a very clean sounding one, with huge bass while precise, and fine treble. No way to make it distort with 75 watts of course.
I would like to point out that this 121 doesn't tame piercing highs, it would reveal them some more. So be sure you like the highs of your amp before purchasing a 121.
I absolutely like the strength and clarity of this speaker, only tried it with the line6.
Still, as the spider2 is fresh (even cold) and has a brilliant tone I just ordered a Tonker from eminence. The purpose is to keep the strong bass and unability to distort unless desired, while warming the mids and taming the highs. I will post then.
Oh, I forgot: it is way loud! Makes a big grin appear on your face!

Reliability : 10
Are you kidding? The stock celestion seemed like it would break very soon with some powerful playing at only half speed. In fact it sounded broken past4...
Nothing like that with the 121.
In fact I'll install it in a closed 112 cab very soon, to drive it with a bass in a 115-112 application.
Reliable, I'm sure.

I would say it is a perfect match for power country, and depending on the amp heavy heavy metal. The 121 doesn't colour the midrange, it tends to clear it of naughty frequencies.
With my amp it shows very well the weak points so be sure you like yours.
A fantastic speaker, clean, powerful, strong bass, I already said it no?
Hope this helps, the quest is soo difficult with all the stuff out there...
