I use it with Les Pauls, PRS knockoffs and Strats via an Engl Straight 50 W all tube combo and a Randall RH50T tube top (both 2xEL34).
Sometimes i also play a cheapo 2xEL84 with that speaker.
I used the Legend 125 so far only as ccombo-speaker or in an half-open 1x12 cabinett.

I play mainly rock, metal, hard rock and blues rock, sometimes clean, mor often with fat crunch or higher gain.

I really really do love this speaker!
It has a wonderfull tight bass that is deeper than the data above might tell. The bass is not overly prominent, but way enough for me, and it sounds rather good, on all amps listed above.

The mids are kinda neutral. Not too crisp, not too chunky, just more neutral with a hint of crispyness. The amout of mids is not too much.
It doesn't sound scooped, not at all, but a tad more mid meat was the only thing that could improve this excellent speaker.

The frequency range were the L 125 outperforms most other guitar 12-inch-speakers is its upper mid and treble response: rich, full, bright, chimey, clear. Clear, chimey, but not ear piercing or ice picky. Just wonderfull tones, clean as well as overdriven.
The speaker adds no audible distortion or compression to your sound, even at higher gain levels not, so this speaker can add clearity and definition to your guitar sound.
It is very "touch sensitive" and articulated.

It is a first class speaker for all genres were extended treble response is no problem; as written above i also do metal with it, but no scooped n?? metal or dark sounding stoner rock.
Unless you play jazz or prefer very dark and muffled sounds or you have an amp that is too trebly, try this!

Great speaker, and surely not too expensive.

Reliability : No Opinion
i didn't tour with it so far, so no rating here.
but Eminence guitar speakers are known for their reliability and good factoring quality.

Customer Support : No Opinion
no idea, i do not nedd support for a speaker, but the Eminence web site is very informative!

Overall Rating : 10
To put it short: a really great speaker that gave me very new sounds.
If you have a working eq at your amp and/or need better treble and upper miid response and more clearity and tighter, punchier bass, this could be your ideal speaker.
It is very versatile, and it is on the cheaper side.

Eminence Legend 125:
12 inch guitar speaker, rated with 75 watts, ferrite magnet, paper cone, resonance 94 Hz, pressed steel basket, 8 ohms

Sound Quality : 10
I use it with different guitars (Les Pauls, p90-SG, Strats, PRS-knockoffs) in semi-open 1x12-cabinets.
It suites my music because it sounds warm, bass is tight and not too loud, and because tehre are plenty of highs and upper mids that give my guitar tone a live that speakers with less upper mids and highs can't give. I tried several speakers (Celestion G12 100K, V30, Eminence Governor and V12), and the legend 125 is by far the best to my ears.

before i discovered the Legend 125 my sound was always a bit t o warm and bassy, it had to little highs and sparkle.

The Legend 125 changed that radically. i could even decrease my treble and presence control on my tube amps (both 50 watt 2xEL34) and still have that lovely sprkling in the highs, a very nice tight bass and warm but clear mids that are neither too much nor too less.

It delivers good clean sounds and really really great crunch and high(er)-gain-sounds.
Clean it is sometimes a little to bright, but guitars have a tone control ;-), overdriven it is just great.

I play many kinds of music from clean folkish stuff to blues and blues rock up to 80s thrash metal, and the Legend 125 just delivers.
Delivers good to simply amazing sounds ...

no idea, looks reliable

not necessary, but web site of (www.eminence.com) is very informative, so i rate it 9.

Overall Rating : 10
it sounds really great, it seems to be reliable and it is cheap. no other ratiung than 10 of 10 possible, imho.
Forget some of the Jensens, try this if your amp/guitar is slightly too warm and lacks a bit of definition.

12", 75 W, everymen vintage sounding speaker.

Sound Quality : 9
I like this speaker because it has a very fast response, not too heavy on the bottom end, really nice mid warmth and top end smooth sizzle. Strangely enough, I had a Texas Heat that had a little annoying spike in the top end though its bottom and mid were huge. That speaker was too chunky for me. Also, the 125, being rated at 75 watts, fit right in the pocket wattage wise with my 50 watt amp - a good match. I have a combo that is speakerless with a pine cab that doesn't sound too hot. I run to an external Avatar cab that was closed-backed but I ported in the back containing my 125 - really nice tone with this cab. In summary - the 125 is a nice all-arounder for my use - cover tunes band. I would say its probably similar to the Jensen C12N.

Reliability : 10
Hasn't failed despite repeated thrashings at high volume.

Good

Overall Rating : 10
The 125 for me is a "go to" replacement for general pop/rock/country needs. For very specific applications like super clean jazz at high wattage, look elsewhere.

Not sure what they're made out of, but they seem to do what they were designed for.

Sound Quality : 10
Runnning these in a custom 4-12 cab pushed with a Mesa Nomad 55 usually out of an Ibanez Destroyer with DiMarzio Pro PAF's. Play mosty heavy/loud rock with some spacy and groovy clean stuff. Great response thoughout the frequency range. I disagree with the guy that said they breakup too soon, must be his amp. These are superclean, tight, well defined speakers in a 4-12 application until you REALLY push the volume. Tones? Clean they are punchy, clear and LOUD. Distorted they are Big, fat, juicy with a nice sparkly top end, nice brown midrange punch, and a bowl shaking (but not muddy) bottom end. I have played several amps through this cab (Carvin X100B, Marshall Valvestate 100, Peavy Supreme solid-state) and would just like to add that the amplifier and application of the speakers (open/closed back 1-12", 2-12" or 4-12") makes much more difference than the name pasted on the back of it.

Been beating these things senseless for 4 years now and have never had anything but absolute consistency.

The loudest statement I can make is that I have never had to test the customer support services.

Overall Rating : 9
Been playing 20+ years as a hobby. Not a pro, but very picky about my sound. I'm not a connoisseur of speakers, but have played a few (Fender(not sure what make), Jensen, Peavey, Celestion) and these are by far my favorite. Not quite perfection, but for the price I can't imagine a better heavy rock guitar speaker for a 4-12" cabinet.

Les Paul into a 50 watt tube amp 1 X 12". This speaker is one of my favorites in its intended application - well rounded rock/blues and clean speaker. Its quick, reponsive to your playing intensity/touch, etc. Very warm, but not overly bassy. It will even do a fairly good job in jazz mode. It loves distotion pedals and has a smooth overall sound, vs. ice pick highs.

Now I play jazz and fingerstyle too with another solid state Evans - which domninates that category. But that amp/speaker combo doesn't do that great with pedals, rock/blues etc. (It'd get a 10 if it could do what my Evans does).

Overall - I'd definitely buy this speaker again in a heartbeat.

For me, this speaker captures alot of the classic overdriven and clean feel. Terrific for cover material. Well balanced and not too much in any one area. Its a blast.

No, this speaker is not the same speaker that's in the Hot Rod Series. If you don't believe me, call Eminence and ask them. First of all, the hot rod speakers are 50 watts, not 75 watts. They are similar, but not the same. This speaker has a bit more headroom. I think it sounds better than the ones designed for Fender. This is the speaker you want to use for Fender style amps. If you want classic Fender punch, tone and warmth. Don't be deceived by those saying this speaker has no low end...couldn't be further from the truth. It's true you wouldn't want to use this for a bass application, but I find it has plenty of low end warmth without being muddy. Its my favorite for Fender amps. It loves distortion with prominent highs, but very smooth - not ice pick at all. Love it.

This speaker is one of the most well rounded I've heard across blues, country, rock and adequate for jazz.

This was a replacement into a 1 X 12" combo amp. I was replaceing a very high wattage speaker because I wanted more responsiveness. Plus, I have heard this speaker in many of the Fender amps and been impressed. Right away my tone went from syrupy mids, to a very transparent, classic Fender tone with smooth warm bass, light mids and sparkly yet smooth highs. Also, my overdrive sounds much better - more articulate and smooth - the grainy tones are now gone. Really, this speaker is a no brainer.

This speaker is pretty versatile and good at pretty much everything you throw at it. It's breakup is OK. I've heard folks say it flubby on the low end at high volumes. For me, this doesn't happen. A player should always adjust bass down slightly when cranking it since bass frquencies get over compensated as you turn it up. This is just common sense. So I think some of these complaints stem from a lack of EQ knowledge. I have a Jazz amp that has huge bass tones such that when I turn up to 5, the bass goes down from 4 to between 2 & 3...and it still roars on the low end. Oh well...

Made in 2005. Ceramic magnet 35 ounce, 8 ohms. Came in my Hot Rod Deville.

I use em with strats, a tele and an LP. Good for blues, rock. Not a bad-sounding speaker, not great either. The cone break up occurs way too early, but sounds good at low power levels, say 2 or 3 (on a range of 1-12).

Reliability : 9
I think they are very reliable.

I have dealt with them, they are a top-notch company.

Been playing 30 years. I own every piece of gear ever created, and then some. This speaker is a good blues speaker, but I need more clean headroom. I wish Fender would use Jensen C12K's in the Hot Rod Series.

This speaker is also out in the field as the Fender Gold Series. It is the stock speaker in the Fender Hot Rod deluxe and the Blue Junior amps. It gets knocked a lot by folks who buy into all the hype about needing name brand gear. From experience with lots of speakers over the past 25 years, I think this is a great sounding speaker. And for the money, you can't beat it. It does a nice job of getting you that 1950s/1960s Fender chime. I have also been surprised at how well it sounded when taking in an insanely overdriven high gain signal from my tube heads. It is very flexible. It may not be a blue alnico, but it does not cost like one either. In fact, I bought four of these after they went on sale for $39.99. At the same time, they were being sold as Fender Gold Label replacements for $79.99.

Reliability : 10
Never had a problem with one of these.

Customer Support : 10
Never needed it, so that tells you something. On the other hand, I have e-mailed Eminence several times directly. They have always been great about responding within 24 hours. So good product, good service and very reasonable prices. Tough to beat.

Overall Rating : 9
This is a very good speaker for the money if you are looking for a nice vintage tone. It will lend itself to other applications, but it definitely has its one particular strength.

i have a strat with fender cs fat 50s pickups. also a squier strat (1986) an epiphone nighthawk. not sure of the year. if you want the old 60s rock sound this is as close as i have ever been.i have been thru many speakers this last 6 months & so far the 125 is the best . the 125 has the sweetest highs of any ive tried. ill go over the list i have tried so far. this is my opinion for my sound . ok? ill rate them as i go. (jensen p12n-2 has really bad highs to brittle) (jensen c12n-1 same problem too brittle) (celestion v-30 4 too midrangy highs are not good) celestion blue alnico-8 great sound but cant handle any power & has a honk ??when cranked) (redfang-5 loud real loud but no high end sparkle)(texas heat-5 much bass but still not the high end i need) i am waiting on a lengend 122 alnico so ill write about that one too. i am looking for the buddy holly & tommy james type sound & so far this 125 is the closest.
