12" guitar amp speaker found in Fender solid state amps made in the 1990s. This speaker is no longer in production. I have three amps that had these speakers (Fender Princeton 112, Fender Automatic SE, and Fender Ultimate Chorus). A friend of mine had a Marshall G50RCD 112 combo with the same speaker.

Power is rated at 75 watts, impedance 8 ohms.

The speaker sounds good for clean settings and for lighter distorted settings. It is definitely an American voiced speaker with lots of upper midrange. It has a good sound for country, jazz, or blues, but not hard rock.

I had the speaker in my Fender Princeton 112 for a couple of years, and I got to hate the thuddy upper mids the FS12 produced when I played classic hard rock rhythms on my guitar. The 'crunch' just isn't there. So I replaced the FS12 with a Celestion Vintage 30 and I haven't looked back since. The Vintage 30 has more low mids and cuts through way better than the FS12.

All of the FS12s in my amps have been replaced with Celestion speakers. I could have opted for Eminence British-voiced (Redcoat) speakers, but the local music shops didn't stock any at the time. To sum things up, I'm just not into American-voiced speakers. For hard rock, it's the British sound or nothing.
