Great speaker. Alnico magnet, nice compression, clear tone. Everything you love about the celestion blues but at less than half the price.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using a pair in my Bad Cat Trem Cat 2x12, sort of a Vox-clone 4xEL84 but with trem and verb. Great speaker for that amp. Tight, clear low end with just enough highs. Very balanced to my ears. I also had one of them in a 5E3 Tweed Deluxe that I built prior to getting the Bad Cat. I ran my 68 Pro Reverb into both of the Red Fangs (while they sat in my Bad Cat) and wow, they took away that low-end farting that the crappy Utah and Fender speakers gave me. I've thought about putting a pair in my Pro Reverb, but I'm likely going to try some of their other speakers in there.

Seems reliable.

None needed so far, but Dave at Avatar Speakers is great to deal with.

Overall Rating : 10
Fantastic speaker value. They have a big bell on them that is not removeable. You might want to get some measurements if you think the fit is going to be tight. I just adjusted the chassis a bit on my 5E3 to help put a bit of room between the speaker and the power tubes.

30 watts alnico magnet. 16 ohm.

Sound Quality : 10
This speaker sounds amazing through my 212 closed back cab paired with a g12h. The solo's are smooth and tasty. The rhythms are chunky with just the right amount of breakup.Beautiful midrange.I have never been so happy with the sonic quality of a speaker.Even when I went from v30 to g12h.The other reviewer mighnt be right about an open back situation not haveing enough umph!,but I am into mixing speakers and probobly will never go back to a 112 design.I just have to have that bass!

Reliability : 10
Thank god its 30 watts and not 15.

Bet your glad to find a review on this speaker so soon after it's release, eh? *S* Features.......well, a cone and metal frame. what else can you say about a speaker?! Ok, to be serious, alnico magnet, 30 watts, 60 watts peak. thats about it.

Sound Quality : 5
I'll make this short and to the point. It's supposed to be a clone of the Celestion blue. i can't say, never having used one. But it absolutly sounds like a Celestion. My take is that it has a certain character that you'll either like or not. Sounds very british in that it has a sort of scooped sound with very little strat quack. extremely articulate with tight lows and very sweet highs. The tone however is not to my liking due to it's pervasive high end that is not balanced out with enough low mids. It just sounds too high endy to me. It also compresses a lot as you turn up due to the alnico magnet. I much prefer tight strong speakers that stay that way at stage volume. The compression it has is just too much to be a very versitile speaker IMO. And the lack of quack for me immediatly takes it out of contention for me. It's going back.

If you like SRV tone, this is not for you at all. If you like Queen, old Bowie, etc, this may be the ticket. But i would caution against it's use in open back combos. At least 1-12 combos. 2-12, maybe. Closed back cabs are the only way i would consider using them. You may feel different, but it's a review after all.......i can only give my point of view. And that is that to me it's a speaker thats suited for closed back cabs for british hard rock tone. For clean i'd definatly stay away. Again, YMMV.
Well, so much for keeping it short ! *S*

I think i said it all above. Mine is going back, but it's really not a bad speaker in the least, just not my thing. In fact i know for a fact some will love it big time, and it's totally about what you want. The question is whether you will like it, and i hope my description is accurate enough and complete enough to help you make the right decision. Good luck.
