Here is where the metal hits the meat. This thing screams. I'm using it in a Mesa/Boogie F-30 with an extension cabinet, running both speakers. The tonal qualities of this speaker are beautiful. I play country, southern rock, and blues, and have yet to be disappointed. The tone is perfect for what you'd expect to hear in country music. Ultimate country tone..period. When overdriven, this thing produces a milky smooth sound that is perfect for that Southern rock drive. No complaints whatsoever.

It sounded awesome from the first day it was installed, and just started sounding better and better. Once broken in, it was amazing. The thing is perfectly built and has lasted me nearly a year. I've run it WIDE-OPEN at practice and live shows, and it has never let me down. No doubt in my mind that it will last for years.

Ordered this speaker online, so I've never dealt with Eminence. But, why I'd need to, I'll never know.

The Tonkerlite is installed in my F-30, running in combo with an Eminence Swamp-Thang in a 1x12 Extension cab. By itself, the Tonkerlite is unbeatable. Never heard anything like it. For Country pickin' or some sweet Southern Overdrive, its the best hands-down. Even up into the Contour section of Overdrive (almost Recto-realm) this thing just sounds amazing. None-better. If it were stolen, I'd cry then buy another.

Since no one else has reviewed this speaker I thought I'd write a quick first impression. It's the Neo version on the regular Tonker(which I haven't heard yet). A lightweight speaker with a British personality. 8 ohms.

I'm not sure the speaker is completely broken yet. I keep hearing different opinions on how long that takes anyway. I'm coming from putting this in a upgraded Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue and playing a Reverend Slingshot with P90's through it for Blues in Texas. No pedals although I did try a Barber Small Fry for a while which sounded great. It just sounded like more of what I already had. The amp has Mercury M. transformers, a point to point board and JJ tubes. I've had a Jensen Neo in it and this Tonkerlite is very different. The Jensen to me is fairly flat and natural sounding. The Tonkerlite has less clean headroom but is much more aggressive sounding in a good way. The amp has a lot more spirit now and a more classic high-end(treble) Marshall tone. I'm not talking about the modern scooped Marshall tone that isn't any kind of Blues tone. It's not a harsh sounding treble though because it's breaking up enough to make it sound fat. With the amp on about six it was plenty loud for an outside Blues jam at a club. I could turn the guitar down for a decent rhythm sound. You don't necessarily ever need a completely clean sound for Blues anyway I guess. Maybe two of these together would be good if you wanted a cleaner sound. The Tonkerlite also has a nice low end presence.

I've been playing a long time. I started right after the Civil War so... At first I was disappointed in the lack of clean headroom but what you get in place of that is very...inspirational, intoxicating and seductive. It makes you forget about some other tone for a while. If someone stole this speaker from me I'd be bummed but they aren't that expensive. I'd definitely replace it with the same thing or maybe get two 16 ohm Tonkerlites and try that at 8 ohms. I haven't heard the Little Texas Eminence which is a Neo version of the Texas Heat I think. It's cool having a light amp that sounds good. I think the Neo speakers are getting better.
