Vertical Slanted Style. Two Celestion V30's. Mine is one of the older ones with a 16Ohm mono jack and a 'thru' so i could line another cab if i wanted. I never use the thru jack, since i only have the one cab. Two very sturdy metal handles, nice thick wood which aids the tone of the cab and a metal grill which looks sturday as hell. Obviously all this metal and thick wood adds a bit of weight, +30kg in total. Without wheels this cab is a lump and shoulde really be a 2 man lift. I bought some casters for a few pence each and now its OK. I would give a 10, but without wheels as a standard it needs to be dropped down. lifting this thing and carrying it everywhere kills your back in no time. Tip: BUY SOME CASTER WHEELS, for your own good, they only cost a small amount and will make this cab perfect.

Sound Quality : 10
Holds the tone beautifully. The thick birch acts as an excellent tone wood and the V30's are pure tonal beasts. I use a Gibson LP '08 Standard and a Gibson Gary Moore LP combine that with Keeley modified Crybaby and Ibanez Analogue Delay. A Majik Box RF-1 Distortion Pedal and a hardwire tuner (doesnt affect tone) and run them all into an Engl Screamer 50. The tone is pure hard rock/metal heaven and there is no hiss or hum created by the speakers (which can happen if a cab has not had the speakers mounted properly or the wood is really thin.)

Reliability : 10
It is a brick. I have accidentally kicked the front and my toe was the only thing that showed any damage. Nothing rattles when its moving or working and when i put the casters in the old feet put up a fight to come out and the new screws put up a F**king battle to get in! Still a very sturdy cab which will never let you down.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never had to deal with them, and hopefully wont have to.

Overall Rating : 9
If stolen this would certainly be replaced when i have the money. This cab ticks all the boxes but again the weight of the thing and not having wheels is completely unjustifiable so sadly, it wont get a 10. as i've already said; it has 2 speakers which is all you need in this day and age where cabs are miked up and it is tonal heaven but for god's sake buy some wheels for it, even an old plank of wood with some wheels attached which you can dump this thing on top of will do but it does need wheels.

I have the vertical slanted version loaded with Celestion Vintage 30. It has an 8 ohm and a 16 ohm input and a swith in order to change between them.
It's build like a tank. The tolex used is good enough to keep the cabinet clean and withput scratches. Only a bad point; it's heavy as hell. I wish it has a pair of wheels like Mesa Rectifiers cabs, but at least it has a pair of handles on both sides.

Sound Quality : 10
Just one word... Brutal!
Vintage 30s do their work fantastic: Very tight bottom, full middles and clean trebles. Mine is driven by a ENGL Powerball and it fits awesome. I've also tried it with Peavy Classic 30, Mesa Solo Single Rectifier and Harley Benton GA5. Just perfect and clean tone on all of them.
I've always wanted a Rectifier cab, but a pair of weeks ago I had the chance to test my 2x12 against a Mesa Rectifier 4x12, both of them with a Powerball Head, same model with same tubes. The results just make me open my eyes. ENGL V212 just BURIED Mesa all way with the same EQ. More punch and bright with no clue, even being a 2x12.

Reliability : 10
It's built like a tank. Unless you cut it with an axe it won't let you out.

I think the info on the ENGL website is quite limited. No impedance or manuals at all, but well... It's a cab, just plug and play.

Overall Rating : 10
I just love it. The perfect cab for me. A lot of presence in the mix, thight bottom and not as heavy as a 4x12. Wonderfull cab for it's price.

I have the horizontal version, 120 Watts at 8 ohm mono.
Also with 2 Celestion Vintage 30 Speakers.

Because its a heavy Box around 30 Kilo without wheels it gets a 8.

Sound Quality : 9
I play a Paula, Tele and a Strat in a Engl Sreamer combo.
I wanted a wider sound, and a Box that is not made in China.
The sound is ok with the screamer you have a fat modern sound, with a deep chunk. But I also have tested this cab with my Plexi 50 Watt Head that is normaly played over a 4x12greenback cab...The Engl cab workes also nice here...but I just buyed it for the Combo, so...
My effects are Maxon ad 999, Roger Mayer Voodoo Blues, Fulltone Clyde and a Peterson Tuner...The Box dont coloures the sound of youre amp and produces a big, ballsy, clear sound. A very good "alllround" Box.

Reliability : 10
This is the realy best at Engl products, they are heavy as hell but also solid and very reliable. Perfect, the best outside in this categorie. 10 +

I never dealt with them. But I think this guys are buiseness snobs.

Overall Rating : 7
I play over 15 years, in many Bands, many venues ( most were smaller clubs around 300 people ). and do some Studio work.
When its lost, I will test the Hughes & Kettner cc212 first, becouse it is not so heavy and has Greenbacks in it, which are the speakers I prefer in a cab...I love the build quality, but hate the weight.
I have the chance to compare this 2x12 cab against, a new Marshall 1936 V wich is made cheap and stupid.
So If you are a pure Metalhead go with this cab they are better than Mesas or Randalls in this categorie. For me, all over just a 7 becouse I play a more Rock, Alternative, Classic heavy tone.

2x12 guitar cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers
1 x 16 Ohm input
no wheels
...it delivers what you basically need
if you need stereo inputs (do you?).. get another one!

Sound Quality : 9
I play a Jackson RR (tuned 1 step lower) and a Peavey 5150II head..
Of course I mainly play heavy stuff!
the cabinet suits them so well I don't even feel the need for any reverb, chorus or delay during any kind of rhythm or solo...
the sound is always as "fat" as I like it to be, far better than a 4x12 Marshall cab (I own a used one)

Reliability : 9
build to last:
the metal grill in front of the speakers rules!
I play it on gigs without backup and it doesn't actually need any regular servicing

Customer Support : No Opinion
never have to deal with them so far

Overall Rating : 9
Great cab that delivers a great sound,
takes less space in my car than the 4x12 and you can reach the same volume on stage..
I still use the 1960 cab at rehearsals 'cause my band place's very humid but I'm so satisfied I'll probably buy an Engl 4x12 when the Mashall's totally fucked up.
