I have this cab about a year, i had Engl standard 412 before. Today i'd compared this cab with mesa recto 2x12.
I use Ibanez K7->Pod XT Pro->Peavey classic 60/60->..cab.
Cab is great, have a nice tight bass and mids that doesn't hurts ..with v30's it's a big achievement ;)
i'm somewhere between meshuggah and korn, so i'm writteing mostly about distortion sound with low tuned growling guitar.
So, today i was little surprised
mesa have less bottom! (i know that it's "only" 2x12"), Engl is much more tight, and clear. Mesa sounds more smooth, wihich i like ..but isn't mesa "holly grail" of everything distorted? king of bottom end?
but engl sounds more "boxy" for me ..maybe cuz front loaded speakers
really i wanted to change my engl for mesa 2x12" ..and replace speakers for evm 12L ...after today comparision, and quick calculation, i don't know what to do.

First I'll start by saying I had many high end 4X12 cabinets,
and this is my favorite of them all, period!!!
I play Rock and Metal and this Cabinet Kills.
This Cab Drowns out my Marshall Stack loaded with the same V30's.
The speakers in the Engl are front loaded while the Marshall is rear loaded, huge difference tone wise.
I play a Diezel Herbert, a Dean USA Custom w/active EMG's
and various effects (G-Major etc..)through the Engl and I could
not be more satisfied! The screaming Mids and highs will shatter glass
and the Lows that come from this will crack your foundation.
The cleans sparkle with a chime like ring through this cab.
I will get rid of my Marshall Stack in place of a New Engl Pro 4X12.

Heaviest cabinet I've ever lifted, and built like a TANK!!!!
This cab was built to withstand the worst of Punishment,
every bit of construction was done in overkill.
This cab will outlast them all, believe me.

I have been playing since the mid 80's.
I have owned just about every guitar product at one time or another.
If it were stolen, they won't get far, not something you're just gonna
pick up and run with.
I love everything about this product, hate nothing.
Only an Orange cab would have a prayer of competing against the Engl,
but still come up short!
Bottom Line...Best Cabinet period, for my style of Guitar Playing
(Rock and Metal)
I wish I had 3 More Engl Pro Cabs!!!!

well, it's a cabinet, so what should I tell about the features?
it's 4 celestion vintage 30s gold backs in it, each 12 inches and 60 watts.
it offers mono and stereo, mono in 8 ohms, stereo in 2x16 ohms.
got no rolls (it's supposed to stand on a straight cab and sounds better that way), but carrying thingys, whatever on the sites.
it's a cabinet, ok? ;)

I use it with a H&K TRIAMP with 6L6s and some effects...
my main axe is a charvel with J50BC in bridge and a JE1000 gainboost unit.
I mainly play brutal stuff, but I also like cleans quite a lot and that cab is perfect for both.
it was meant to replace a marshall 1960BV cabinet with also V30s but 75 watts each, and is right now standing on top of it.
all I can say is the engl blows the marshal cab away with an ease...
I don't hear the marshall at all, even though I run my head tru both of them...
it's got so much more punch and balls, no comparison to the marshall.
it's front loaded.

that thing REALLY is built like a goddamn rock!!
I really was proud of my marshall box until I saw this one...
the front grid is done with heavy, strong metal, marshall does have some piece of cloth put over it... nothing will ever happen to your speakers that way!!
the logo is metal, not plastic like the 1960, those carrying caveties (you know'em, god knows what they're called) are pure metal, on the behind the input jacks are metal, even the engl logo in front is.
you won't find one single piece of plastic on this thing!!
it wights a little more than a marshall of course, but that's where the sound comes from...
the wood is by far thicker than on a marshall and the back is isolated with some foam stuff, and they used more screws on it's back than marshall for their whole thing...
if you don't throw it from a bridge, it will last a live. but why should you, it's awesome... ;)

I absolutely underrated the cabinets improtance in my sound all the time... I always meant all that counts is the speaker, but that's BS I mentioned.
that cab changed my sound in a way I didn't expect...
I love it!!!
if it got stolen, I'd try to afford a new one, and it absolutely kicks most other cabs ass!!!!
seems undestroyable and sounds awesome...
