i bought this amp used in a parking lot, for the express purposes of a/ possibly using it for traveling, or very small gigs with a mic on the speaker or b/ passing it on to a student at a profit, and c/ dinking around at home......this is the 3rd practice type amp i've purchased, and is by far the best sounding....the other two are a marshall MG10CD, and a marshall G10, both 10 watters with 6.5 inch speakers....the epi cleans their clocks easily....1st, the overdrive is far more musical sounding, and second, this amp has 3 band active eq, an 8 inch speaker, and a ported cabinet....yes, it is a cheap little practice amp...no, it won't keep up with a 1/2 stack, but then again i only gave $20 for it; less than i gave for eithjer of the marshalls, and it's no disappointment....

front panel:

input/gain/volume/bass/mid/treble/headphone jack/pwr switch

i play mostly a solid rock style, and i like the sound to clean up some with a light pick attack, and then dive off the cliff when i dig in....this amp responds nicely within these parameters....

Sound Quality : 7
i think this amp sound just fine; perhaps a bit generic, as in, it doesn't really have what i'd call a "signature" sound like a marshall or a fender....doesn't have tons of low end, but what do you expect out of an 8" speaker?....i tried it with an sg with a dimarzio super distortion in the bridge, and a strat, and it did fine....the overdrive was smooth and even....the amp is not noisy, and is surprisingly loud for its' size....

Reliability : No Opinion
dunno.....don't drop it off the top of a building, and use good sense in how you use it, and it ought to last a while.....

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 7
it's cool...it is what it is, and tha's it....i'm sure there are better...i know for a fact that there are worse....if you find one cheap, snag it....i've been playing for 34 years, and have had, or have, nearly everything you can name...this is an ok little amp....

My son has had this amp about 3 years. It's his first amp and came with the epi package I bought him. Typical practice amp 15 watt nothing but headphone jack.

Sound Quality : 7
He has gone on to a mexican fat strat and a fender acostic. He says he gets all sounds on it.

Reliability : 9
Has not broken yet.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed to contact epi.

Overall Rating : 8
He's been playing 3 years and now is 14. He thinks this amp is ok because he lugs it to lessons. He is really getting good its time for a real amp! I wonder what he'll think when I get him a Fender or Marshall. This is a great amp for starters until they discover footswitches and effects! We'll keep it for traveling!

Product: Epiphone EA-300
Price Paid: US He said it was probably about 110 dollars but is woth about 10.

Features? I really don't think so. Most of the other amps this size have 2 channels and possibly reverb. I wont go over all the features cause my good friend Jimi or Jimi Dilder as all of us in the band call him already did. The features SUCK!

Sound Quality : 1
My friend and bandmate used to play with this as his practice amp and when I would go to his house to practice with him he would get really pissed off and throw fits because it kept feeding back and wouldn't sustain. He plays a really cool heavily modified Squier strat with a hotrails in the bridge. Our band plays mostly classic rock like HENDRIX. I plugged my guitar into this amp to try to play Bold As Love which needed alot of sustain and in between every note I would get this horrible feedback. this amp is probably good for closing the show at big gigs if you're going to smash it. It also might be good for playing some of today's shitty music like Limp Bizkit or Kid Rock because they suck bigtime and use shitty guitars like Ibanez that don't have any real tone just really bad distortion like this amp has The sound sucks BIGTIME!

Reliability : 2
It finally broke on him when we were recording, he had the volume on 4! He was really ripshit about it. Later that night, he called up a local music shop and put a Fender Princeton 112 on layaway that he saw earlier that day. He never brigs it to gigs except as a backup and he told me that he could rely on New England's weather better than this amp.

We both called up the company and they screwed everything up. They are real Dumbasses. There is no real cutomer support at all.

Overall Rating : 1
This thing SUCKS!!!!!!!! Don't buy it save your money! Go buy a fender or something. The whole band hates this amp. This amp deserves a -353 I did all the math. Jimi is an algebra major, he didn't help me though.

Product: Epiphone EA-300
Price Paid: US It came with a package so I estimate it would be about$100

This amp has controls for volume, gain, treble, bass and mids. Nothin' fancy goin' on here. 1 input and a hea phone out. It would be alot better if it had reverb or better distortion. This is by far the worst amp I have ever played through! There is no warmth, FX loop, or sustain at all. This is all solid state...........Oh gooody!

Sound Quality : 1
The sound on this thing really blows, I use a Squier strat with fender pickups from the 70's(way cool). This thing totally disgraces the tone on my guitar. I play mostly Hendrix and this thing is not at all suited for the style I play. I cannot tell if it gets crappy at high volume levels because I can't here over all the feedback. The only sounds this amp makes are a crappy gain and horrible feedback. This thing is such a peice of shit, I give it a 1 in this category.

Reliability : 2
Reliability? This thing blew it's power transformer at 4. I would not depend on this thing at all! I give it a 2 in this category.

Customer Support : 1
Customer support? Yeah right! These dumb bastards refered me to a bunch of places that ony service their shitty guitars. Finally I just called a non-authorized dealer and they were going to charge me $50 plus parts. I said forget it and put a Fender Princeton 112 on layaway.

Overall Rating : 1
Overall this is a really shitty amp. I hate this thing and I threw it out the window last week. If someone stole it I would thank them. If you want a good amp save your money and get a fender, marshall, or peavy.

this is a little 15 watt practice amp. It features gain volume bass mid and treble knob, no channel switch, no reverb no fx loop.
But since this is an amp to play at home those features are really not nescessary, maybe a reverb would be cool but it would add to the price and I dont know if its worth since this amp wont ever leave my house

Sound Quality : 6
im giving it 6 because no practice amp gets a 10 but when I bought it I compared it to a Crate GX 15, a Peavey amp, and a Fender Frontman, in my opinion it sounded better than all others, it was the cheaper one too.. theres a really cool thing... you can crank it and it remains tight, no solid state break up.
I use this amp to teach and practice at home. I dont like to turn my Laney stack on when Im at home cuz I live in a small place so this is good and its very well made for it purpose. No professional tones at all, but nice tones to play at home and practice, the gain goes from bluesy type to metal, and differently than other small solid state designs it sounds good tru its entire range.. most small amps only sound good totally clean or with the gain on 10, without any in-between usable tones.. this one sounds good in virtually any gain position

Reliability : 10
this amp is not meant for gigs.. its ok to play at home, teach, and take with you on short travels and stuff like that, its a home amp. I guess is reliable

Customer Support : 10
Gibson/Epiphone has good costumer support I dont think ill ever contact them about this amp, but I dealt with Gibson about a problem with my Explorer and they were very helpful

Overall Rating : 7
not much to add.. i was lookin for a good sounding lil amp and I liked this one.
Ive been playing for 17 years and I use Gibson guitars, Laney stacks, EMG pickups, Boss and Morley pedals
I wasnt lookin for a great tone when I bought this amp, just for a practical lil amp to have at home and thats what it is.. I like the sound of it for practice. Id buy another one or recommend it to my students as a practice amp. No problem
