Features : No Opinion
Miniature one watt practice amp with volume, tone and on/off-drive knob.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
Sounded crummy when i got it, but after some modifications it now kicks ass. First, I replaced the crummy 3 inch chinese speaker with a Pioneer three-way car stereo speaker which I could just barely get into the cabinet. Then I rewired it to run on two 9 volt batteries instead of one. Now I have the LOUDEST one watt amp in the universe. This little pup screams, on the drive setting it's just the nastiest, crunchiest, trashiest solid state tone I've ever heard. Pure Lo-Fi heaven. Insane amounts of gain and feedback from such a midget amp. Turn it up to ten and the damn thing vibrates and shakes like it's possesed. Just lovely to behold.

Reliability : No Opinion
No idea at this point. It may self-destruct eventually with 18 volts running through it instead of 9. We'll see.

Who knows, who cares.

Crummy originally. But now with the mods I did on it, it's totally killer cool. People are always amazed at the huge tone I'm getting through this tiny little one-watter. Beautifully trashy. Trashilly beautiful.

the amps got no effects loop and its mono but hey what do you expect its a #40 mini amp. it runs of a power supply or battery and it doesnt eat the batterys like you would think.
its loud enough to practice with but if was to be your only amp you may get a bit bored.

Sound Quality : 9
it sound great on clean mode with a neck pickup and has a mean bite with a bridge pickup on over drive mode. if you run amp and guitar on full on the clean channel there is a slight distortion but nothing to be bothered about. the distortion on over drive is great and the tone control can be used to get a good twangy sound.

well i dont know about this i have owned mine for a few days it seems great. its small strong and solid state so i cant see it breaking.

Customer Support : 7
i have never had to deal with epiphone but the amps got a five year warranty so it should be fine.

Overall Rating : 9
ive been playing a while and i think the amp is great. i play an ibanez rg 550 and also own 2 other guitars and a bass. my main amop is a roland jazz chorus 120 (its very loud thus the purchase of the epiphone). i love the loudness of the amp dispite its size. the only thing that could make it better would be an effects loop and you dont really need one any way just run your effects through the front like in the good old days (or something)

I bought this little pisser amp new in late '97/early '98, because I thought it was the cutest little roaring beast I'd ever seen in a battery-powered wooden box! It looks exactly like my Peavey Classic 50 2x12, and every time I light this sucker up in the livingroom, it makes my wife laugh, and my cats hide! It runs on a 9-volt battery or equvalent wall-wart, has maybe a 3" spkr., two freakin' channels, vintage-style chicken-head knobs, headphone jack, carry strap, rubber feet, and is made of tweedish-covered wood! What other amp this small is made of wood? The fact that I like it so much makes me wish it only had reverb. We're talking cheesetone boxes here, so it gets a "10".

Sound Quality : 10
For my own credibility's sake, I've played semipro for about 22 yrs. now, and own lots of expensive stuff. But I love gadgets, and find this amp as practical as it is charming. The clean is somewhat clean, and the dirty is nasty dirty. The whole frigging woody vibrates when you crank it, and you've just gotta laugh your butt off! When the battery starts dying, the distortion sounds even better- it's like when Eddie VanHalen turns down his voltage with the variac, man! In reality, I find that the best sound comes from turning the thing full-up, but backing the guitar's volume off until it's a clean sound. This gets you a decent clean sound w/ a brighter top end, and when you whack the notes harder it distorts more, giving you some dynamics. Pretty cool, huh?

These amps are about as reliable as a true combo amp; they're made from wood- it doesn't get better. Compared to the Marshall MS-2, it's far more durable (Marshalls are notorious for getting the input jacks broken due to their light weight. They fall off the table face-first, and it's not a simple repair to fix that). .....tubes??? dahh...

Customer Support : No Opinion
Epiphone will never make a quality guitar or other instrument. I'd given them four purchases, the last one being their mandolin, and the quality every time was highly unacceptible at any price. I ordered a '58 Korina Explore from them once, and it took six weeks for them to ship it to me. When I got it, 9 of the frets were popping out of the fingerboard so bad it almost cut my hand! This was a guitar that was 10 minutes old. My sales guy called them, but they would take another 2 months to deliver another guitar, so I said "No thanks". I'll never buy another instrument from them again. But this little amp's cool.

Overall Rating : 10
The Marshall MS-2 sounds awesome, but is fragile- once it's broke, it's "bye-bye". The Fender "Twin" picks up radio stations in Russia, and sounds like poopie kah-kah. Then there's this Epiphone Tweed, made of wood, with cool sound and cool features. I believe that one day this will be a collectible!

very basic.volume knob, tone knob, and a switch between off,on,and drive.input and headphone jack sockets.runs off nine volts dc,either battery or adaptor.

Sound Quality : 6
not super loud as youd expect.in normal(clean) you get a nice overdrive type sound at higher volumes.just dont expect to plbplay clean.in drive a pleasant heavy rock distortion at lower volume, getting harsh as the volume increases.needs to be in drive to get any decentvolume.the tiny beast vibrates as it barks.

Reliability : 9
reliability is fine.dont expect to run it off batteries as it eats them and outputs a distorted mush when the batteries run low.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them

Overall Rating : 7
i bought it as i needed something compact.so i am quite happy with it.now i dont need the compact size it doesnt get used much though.if you need something small id recommend it.otherwise get something bigger even for a bedroom amp.
