This is my first amp ever, so I wasn't looking for much. It's got a bass, middle, and treble knobs, along with a volume and gain knob. A place for the guitar jack and headphones, and you're all wrapped up. It's enough for a beginner, but otherwise it's pretty limited. It makes enough noise to drive the people in my house crazy, but this ain't stage or concert material by a long shot. One for a garage or bedroom at the most.

I like the output it produces because I like to play rock, alternative, or even some metal. It adds a little fuzz to an otherwise clean sound when you turn the gain to about 3. If you want to play SP or Nirvana, then the distortion sounds pretty good. Not much variety with just 1 gain and some bass, treble, and middle knobs.

It seems built to last, not that I would go dropping it on the ground anytime soon, but it seems sturdy enough.

Since it's my first amp, no, I wouldn't buy it again. It's a great little beginner's amp, but once you've played around with it awhile, it gets kinda old.

The amp would be better if it had more than 1 channel. It is really weak.

The EP-800 has one channel, one gain, one volume, a bass, a midrange, and a treble. Not to mention the head phone jack (whoopee!). I use this as a practice amp at home, and it can squeeze by as far as power is concerned. It could use reverb (read on), maybe another gain. I think the EP-1000 or higher models have 2 gains. maybe i should have paid more.

it's good for alternative/hard rock, but when you want a clean but loud output, this thing just doesn't deliver. I've noticed that it buzzes a lot when i have my treble switch at either end or in the middle.

I can depend on it, and i would probably risk using it without a backup.

i wouldn't buy this one again, but only because it's so weak. it's just as good as any other 25 watt amp ive played. i found out recently that it's available w/reverb (EP-800R) for about 20, 30 US$ more. If it's your first amp, go for it.
