This amp is fine for the features, and anybody else saying it doesn't have all the flange, reverb, and more should stop saying that, beacuse if you want that, go buy the pedals. It has Gain, Volume, 3-band EQ w/ Bass, mid, and Treble. It's a single channel, and a headphone output. For the features it doesn't have, I have the pedal for. I wish it had an output for use as a pre-amp, though. This is my practice amp, for when I'm in my house, and don't want to get the cops called. It has plenty of power for my small room.

I use a westbury Standard, a Peavey Milestone IV, keyboards, mics, and everything else that can or could be plugged in. In other words, for the price you're paying, the sound quality is top. I play punk to blues. Suits everything. I don't like the nose it causes with distortion, but like I said, I have a BOSS DS-1 pedal. Combine those, and you'll be set. I don't find that the clean channel gets distorted at all, though it's too quiet, but I found that if you turn the gain up a little bit, it sounds plenty loud. The distortion is great, but isn't as versatile as I want.

I would not use it in a gig, only because it is 25 watts. Not because it's bad, or unreliable. I can run a bass, a guitar, or vocals through it. This amp has never broken down, and I have had seldom problems with it.

I have been playing 4 years, and have run through many great amps. I've run guitars through a Crate GT1200H, a Behringer BXL3000A, and some other random amps that my friends own. But all in all, this amp holds up on it's own. If it was lsot or stolen, I would not buy it again, partially because it is no longer manufactured. I love the EQ, but hate the Distortion. I've compared this to nothing.

This thing does not sound half bad. I was very surprised. It's all really in you you adjust it.
It seems to have some sort of noise gate built into it and if you don't play it cuts out the hiss after a time.
Playing clean, it seems to cut in and out, well, this one does. The real beauty of this amp comes out when you crank up the gain. The trick is to turn the bass all the way up, put the mid and about half, and turn the treble all the way off. Then you crank the gain up 2/3'rds and put the volume where ever you want.
It then spits out this really fat, rich overdriven tone with great harmonics, and a pleasant tube style clipping tone. I LIKE IT!

This thing is really old, and has been kicked around quite a bit before I got it. If it still works, I'd say it is going to keep on working.

A friend came by today and just gave it to me. They had it in their garage and was going to donate it to a second hand store. I really like it quite a bit. It had a broken cord, so I fixed that.
It's not a gigging amp, it's low powered, and trying to play clean is worthless, but man, you crank up the gain, and set the controls right and it's a Blues monster! I don't even need to use any pedals on this one.
It sounded really good with the stock speaker, which is what the information in this review is based on. But it got even better when I changed the speaker. I had a Jensen PR8 vintage Reissue speaker I bought for another project that did not pan out, so I stuck it in this thing. OH MY!!! I'd say the tone before the speaker was about an 8 now it sits at 9 or 10.
You have to remember, this amp is what it is and nothing more.

As people have said, it's a small practice amp. One channel with gain and master volume. Low, Mid, High tone and that's about it. It's about the features you'd expect from a cheap practice amp.

I've played everything from a Telecaster to a Les Paul to Jacksons and Ibanezes on this amp and it always sounds the same: abysmal. It doesn't matter what style of music you play because it's not clean enough to play jazz, not heavy enough to play metal or even hard rock, and don't even attempt to get it to slightly break up for blues...that's where this amp really takes a dump.

I'm not a gear snob, and I'm not unfairly comparing this to a Matchless or some boutique recording amp. I've also played bottom of the line Peaveys and Chinese Fenders, but the Epi really stands out.
This amp was thrown in for free when I got my first guitar, and I wouldn't recommend paying more than that for it. Even when I was first starting out, I knew that it sounded like crap incarnate, and I immediately began saving for something (*anything*) else. If you truly have nothing else at your disposal, then I guess it's something to practice with, but honestly, I'd rather hold my guitar agaist a lamp shade and get a little mechanical amplification than listen to this thing vomit noise.

It doesn't matter when this amp was made. I got it with the Epiphone Gig Rig. I've seen this amp on the shelf by itself for $85. And no matter how you look at it, it's pitiful. I've gotten more expression out a Fender Mini-Twin, which is no bigger than a box of tissues and costs $35 bucks. 90% of the time I had this amp, I used a Zoom 1010 pedal through it and never used it's distortion because it is pitiful. Features? What features? It has a volume and gain, treble mid and bass. The latter three do very little to enhance the tone of this piece of crap.
Sound Quality
:

This sound on clean is too low to be heard from three feet away. The distorted tone is muddy and terrible. I had the misfortune of taking this to a minor practice because my Fender Deluxe 90 was out. It couldn't be heard at all. No matter what I did. I was afraid to crank both volume and gain knobs because I was sure it would explode and kill everyone in the room.

There are really better practice amps out there is you're willing to fork over a few extra bucks. This amp has no expression at all. The sounds are muddy and the features non-existent. I recommend a Fender Showman or Ibanez practice amp.

It's very limited on the features side, with only one input, a head phone jack, bass, mid, treble, gain, and volume. I don't use this amp much because I have a larger practice amp, but sometimes I'll add it on just to get a little more bass.

The gain is touchy, and it's not too easy to get a good sound from it. I play with an Epiphone LP-100 with stock pickups, so that might contribute to the muddy sound. If the mid is turned at all to the right it starts to sound like crap, unless you want that mid-rangey wah sound. It's hard to get a loud, clean sound. With some adjustments you can get a decent sound from it.

for an extremely inexpensive practice amp, it works fine. The buzzing gets old, and when you palm mute a chord the back of the amp sounds like its going to fall off, but I can't complain since I got the thing for free.

I'm not sure how old this model is. It has one channel, no loop and a headphones jack. I use it strictly for practice. For some reason, the headphone jack sounds really bad. The amp itself doesn't sound too bad though. Especially considering what I paid for it. And it looks great! Tweed with a gold Epiphone logo. I would've expected to pay more just for the vintage design alone. Anyway, as far as features, it gets the job done, since I don't really ever use reverb. BTW, I play many styles and I'm in a professional punk band.

I'm using a Hamer Studio with Humbuckers. I also tried a single coil cheap-o in the store, and it sounded pretty good. Although you can't get a million different tones out of this amp, I think it suits many different styles if you know what you want. Blues, rock, etc. The gain gets a little buzzy at about 5. What I'm doing is running a Line 6 POD through the amp and putting the amp's gain on 0. This sounds phenomenal! I mean it! Of course it would defeat the purpose for someone to by a $50- $100 amp and then buy a $300 preamp/effects unit for it. I just happened to have the POD for my eight track studio already, so it worked out great. I can't stress how good this setup sounds though. But originally, the amp sounded pretty decent to begin with (as far as practice amps go).

It's pretty new, so I can't comment on the dependability yet. However, I looked inside it and there isn't much to it. Therefore, there's not much that could go wrong. It is made mostly out of particle wood, I believe. At least the back is, and I almost broke it trying to pry it off. So I guess I'll take a few points off for that.

Like I said, I bought this amp strictly for practicing in my room. I have a couple of JCM 800's that I play in my band with. Anyway, I went shopping for a practice amp planning to spend $50 and found absolutely NOTHING. I was considering buying one of those little toy amps. Then I ran into this one. I am still blown away by the price I paid for it. Visually, I give the amp a 10. The natural overall of the amp, I give a 9 (keeping the price in mind). With the POD setup I have, I would give the amp an 11! But then I'm talking about a $350 amp, factoring in the price of the POD. However, I think any decent preamp/effect unit would do the trick. With the POD, it is definitely "gig worthy". With the help of a powerful P.A. of course, since the amp is only 15W.

i have been playing for about 6 months now and this little amp seems to have one i need...i'm not into the heavy crap that is becomiong more and more popular...i just like playing mellowed out rock and alternative music...now this amp doesnt have all the features of a larger one, but it doesnt need to.

the gain swith on this puppy is crazy...up until about "5" or so it just adds more volume, then it starts to tear up your music a little...i like the bass/middle/treble switches, though i dont use them that often...they can really change the sounds which can be nice...other than that, for a small amp like this, though the volume is pretty shabby, it sounds pretty decent.

This amp is a 15 watt solid state practice amp. I play an Epiphone Special II w/ HB pickups through a BOSS DS-1 distortion stompbox. I can get some pretty good tones. Even though 15 watts is tiny, if you put the volume up to around 7 1/2 and put the gain up to about 6 it will be very loud!!!! Also, thats when the gain starts to drown out, so I use a fuzzbox. The gain is also very, very harsh!!! There are Bass, Mid, and Treble controls that range from -15 to +15

Few features, good sound, well built, not worth list price of $150 though, i would not pay more than 75

This is my first amp ever, so I wasn't looking for much. It's got a bass, middle, and treble knobs, along with a volume and gain knob. A place for the guitar jack and headphones, and you're all wrapped up. It's enough for a beginner, but otherwise it's pretty limited. It makes enough noise to drive the people in my house crazy, but this ain't stage or concert material by a long shot. One for a garage or bedroom at the most.

I like the output it produces because I like to play rock, alternative, or even some metal. It adds a little fuzz to an otherwise clean sound when you turn the gain to about 3. If you want to play SP or Nirvana, then the distortion sounds pretty good. Not much variety with just 1 gain and some bass, treble, and middle knobs.

The EP-800 has one channel, one gain, one volume, a bass, a midrange, and a treble. Not to mention the head phone jack (whoopee!). I use this as a practice amp at home, and it can squeeze by as far as power is concerned. It could use reverb (read on), maybe another gain. I think the EP-1000 or higher models have 2 gains. maybe i should have paid more.
