This is the SC-28 model with two eight inch speakers. It is a tweed covered amp as well. There are two channels and the overdrive responds well to the pressure of my picking to simulate tube overdrive sounds. The chorus is very sweet sounding. The reverb is enough but you can't go over the top with it. I'd like to see a footpedal option for controlling the depth and rate of the chorus. On my last amp, I added that myself but won't on this one because I like it too much to hack it up inside. the amp is loud. I use it in my basement guitar room and don't go over 3. There is an effect loop and a headphones jack. Also a preamp out and in. I added two jacks that bypass the internal speakers to feed instead two external ones.

Sound Quality : 8
I use an Epi LP and an Ibanez 540r. Both sound terrific through the amp. I play classic rock and modern shred. the amp sounds great.

Reliability : 7
I'd gig with it, sure. The plastic corners need to be replaced. The amp only had two of them when I got it so I took those off and put metal corners on it. I also took off the rubber feet and put wheel-casters in there place. After replacing the rubber handle with a piece of an old leather belt, I have a nice and vintage-vibe amp here.

I emailed Epiphone about getting some documentation on the amp and they mailed me (on their dime) photocopies of the user guide. Good enough support for me considering this particular model is no longer in production.

I've been playing since 1984. I have two epi Les Pauls, a '72 Gibson ES335, an '89 Ibanez 540r, an early Fender 1962 reissue strat, three acoustics and an Ibanez ergodyne 5 string bass. For effects I have a Korg ToneWorks AX1000G and it makes all sorts of stuff happen. My external 'stack' includes two Crate micro-stack cabs with 4 six inch speakers each. I'd look for another of these if it got stolen or lost. I went with this for the price, really, and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of its sound. It's chorus is lovely; so much so that I don't bother with the chorus' on the ToneWorks pedal at all.

The amp is a 1998. Very Versitile, and Sounds pretty good. the amp has pre gain, Post gain, channel select, Clean Volume, Cut and boost low/mid/high/prescence EQ, reverb, depth, and rate chorus controls. This thing is built to take on whatever you have to offer.

Sound Quality : 9
I am using all kinds of guitars on it so I'll just spare the time and not list any, if you want to know what, look at my review for the Super American Metal pedal by DOD. The distortion channel is pretty good but it' does not carry the Metallica type edge unless you crank it all the way up to ten on both knobs. The clean channel is like a Fender champ, clean to dirty as you turn up the knob. The chorus is better than any pedal i have ever seen in my life, and the reverb needs a little kick in the ass by a distortion pedal or maybye a compressor before you can ride to surf city.

Reliability : 10
The only damage this amp has gotten in the past three years I have had it is:
1:left plastic corner protectors broke off
2:Epiphone Logo craked then broke off, so I just unscrewed and removed it.
3.the Tweed covering is a little ripped up at the edges
4.The pressed board mount for the back broke in half

Customer Support : No Opinion

This amp is my #1 for now until i can get a Peavey Classic Chourus 2/12, or a Peavey Stereo Chorus 2/12. or a Peavey TransFEX 2/12. this amp kicks major ass in the tone department thought i wish It had a better reverb tank.

This amp includes two 10" speakers putting out 60 watts of power. It includes 2 channels. The distorted channel sounds good, but only if the amp is kept at a low volume level. Once it reaches 7 or 8 is screaches bad. The clean channel sounds very nice however. Also included is reverb (which I couldnt even hear) and chorus (which sounded pretty good). I used a zoom 505 with it and the sounds were not very good at all. It is good if you like clean sounds, but I am more into distortion and I wouldn't recommend this amp for that.

Sound Quality : 5
I used an Epiphone G400, which seemed like it would be a perfect combination for this amp. But, like I said, the distortion is horrible. Also, if you want power, this amp is not for you. It did not reach my expectations at all what so ever.

Reliability : No Opinion
The amp worked reliably, but I didn't keep it very long. The price was not worth it to me, and I took it back for a full refund.

Customer Support : 5
Epiphone customer service is not to great as far as guitars are concerned, I know that much. My Epi G400 fell and the neck snapped off. First time dropped. The company said it wasn't defect, but I am almost certain it was. I have a crappy Sysonics guitar which I have literally thrown around, and it has never broke yet.

Overall Rating : 5
My overall isn't very high because I do not recommend it to anyone. Compared to anything else I have owned... it is garbage. Do not buy! I would never buy it again either.
