It has the standard two channels: dirty and clean. Then there is an option to mix in some delay, flanger, or chorus. The channels are switchable via button, but there is no footpedal that I have ever seen for it, nor have I seen where you could plug one in. While the dirty channel fits my style very well (lots of overdrive with the ability for pinch-harmonics) I find that the clean channel responds very well to all sorts of pedals. It's a solid state amp but the overdrive on it is about as close to tubes as it comes without using tubes. It's a 100 watt head that's very able to push everything that you want to hear out of it, and even puts out enough thump for bass.
The only reason that I give this a 9 is because it's no Line 6. There aren't many ooptions but they are there.

Sound Quality : 10
I play an 07' Explorer with the stock humbuckers and usually put it through an English Muff'n. The clean channel is LOUD, and has an amazing amout of headroom before distorting but it has a CRAZY amout of attack on every note. The overdrive channel is better balanced than if you use pedals on the clean channel but it doesn't get as loud as the clean does. This has a couple of added effects which are delay, flanger, reverb, and chorus. The verb sounds like it's hall and the delay has a good amount time options. I don't use chorus and flanging enough for me to be any good for a reliable opinion, but to my ear, they sound good.

Reliability : 10
Even if this amp was no good at all I would recommend it purely for the amount of beatings it can take. When I got this thing it looked like someone had used it as a base for a log chopping competition, but it sounds as good as any new amp that I've tried (save for a few tube marshalls). I have used it at every gig that I've been at and it's the amp that I practice with. It goes through a ton of use and it hasn't had a single problem yet.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with it, and probably never will due to the fact that I bought it used.

Overall Rating : 10
I have only been playing for two and half years but I got this thing almost on startup and I've been using it for practice and shows ever since. It's the best amp for the price that I found it and would recommend it to anyone. The only things that I dislike about this amp is that I can't find any more cabinets for it and it's last owner had completely chopped off the epiphone logos. If they still put it out I would say that this amp is the best you're going to get for the price, but unfortunately Epiphone discontinued it, so if you have the chance to get one used, go for it.

i got it recently used at a guitar shop, so i don't know what year it is. Its a great amp! has a wonderful tone, alot like a tube amp, its a 100 w solid state, has a few built in effects; delay, flanger, chorus, and reverb. it has a clean channel and a drive channel, both sound excelent, not good for metal or anything too heavy, but great tone for blues, folk, soft rock etc.

Sound Quality : 10
excellent sound, sounds like a tube amp for a fraction of the price.

Reliability : 9
it seems well built the only problem ive noticed is if you switch between the effects too quickly the encoder gets off by a click or two so you have to pull the knob off and set it back correctly. but its not a big deal and i rarely use the on board effects. only marked it a nine kuz of the effects.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never needed it

Overall Rating : 10
ive been playing a few years. i would probly get another if it were lost or stolen i would probably get another. i love the look of it and the tone, and its loud!!! i usually use the clean channel with my line 6 pod and i can get just about any sound i want including heavier stuff. I would absolutely recommend it!

New bought in 2008 (it arrived 1 week earlier to the store)
Solid state 100w The features are allready covered by the previous reviews , i think it is only diference (from Epiphone Site) is Not Having The Knob volume for the Effects Loop.

Sound Quality : 7
I use Squier strat Standard with SSS Single coils and Epiphone Les paul with Hum buckers. It suits my stiles. Open Chords and solos , I've started playing 1 year ago so no stile for the moment, just jamming with some friends and at home. Mainly soloing my sound is clean with delay and a bit distortion. It is easier to get a richer sound with the hum buckers, but love the clean with the strat. No noise from the amp, very silent. The dirty channel, Is a little harsh, requires careful settings to get usable sound. I play with a digitech rp80 to get more options other than clean. The treble/mid/Bass knobs changes a lot the sound very good . I Use it normally connected to a PA, or via Line out in my Stereo. When connected to external CAB the distortion is a LOT better and a lot warmer due to the speakers tried it with a fender 4x12 very good sound , didn't test yet the matching CAB from Epiphone. On the clean channel it does kind of distorts on high settings (suppose Evalve Enter here ???)
Bought it because of the features possible connections for home and jamming, connects to The PA, Speaker, Headphones Line In Etc ??? Perfect for versatility , connecting all for home fun recording etc ??? considering the price plus it is a joy to look at and Plenty of Power ??? I???m not very experienced but like the sound and settings adjustments .

Reliability : No Opinion
i don't gig , but it seems to hold well, no noise and no failure till now (2 months allmost every day 2 hours turned on )

Customer Support : No Opinion
No need .

Overall Rating : 7
I've started playing a year ago, Have a superchamp XD from Fender it's a lot more easy to get different sound since it is voiced in different amps and sounds . If it was stolen or lost I???d probably tried to find another one. Love it for the price, looks, power, versatility and the clean sound is very good and very suitable for pedals, dont't like to much of the distortion via PA /Line Out but with a CAB or Speaker ... very usable I just use a little distortion just to Fill the notes when soloing. I've read the reviews and sound clips , I've tested it on the store , nov comparing with others since the price range ,the features and looks gives no room for other equipment available near me .

Just discontinued, and discounted....I bought the 4X12 cab first, to use with a vintage gibson amp I had, and then had to buy the head!
I play contemporary Christian, light to mid rock and a bit of blues. This amp has provided the cream for my coffee...It is just what the doctor ordered, both in looks and listening....
The amp head (100 watts) has two channels, 3 effects and fully adjustable reverb. It has a headphone jack, effects loop, aux in and out with adjustable volume, XLR out with adjustable volume (great for church or small to medium gigs), footpedal input and 2 speaker outputs...

I wish it had its own footpedal, perhaps even a retro style to match the amp's mojo.

The cabinet (280 watts) switches from mono (4 ohm, OR 16 ohm) to stereo (2 X 8 ohm)and sounds great with any amp. I have used a Randall head, my Gibson AND the Epiphone head.

It is powerful enough for just about anything, and since you can also easily hook it up to PA, the sky is the limit for this rig.

I was going to give it an 8 because no tubes, but it comes in at a 9.9 because it sounds like it has them....

Sound Quality : 8
This amp is so versatile when it comes to sounds...It has clean with reverb, clean without reverb, clean with delay, clean with delay and reverb, with chorus...with flanger...You get the picture. My favorite so far is clean with delay and reverb.....Amazing for blues and older covers.

Distortion is a little muddy, but I'm working on tweaking that. It is so subjective, light distortion sounds good and crunchy....

I use it with a Gibson LP studio, a Fender Toronado with Seymours all around, a BC rich thin-body acoustic-electric, and a couple of vintage hollowbodies...this amp suits my music style perfectly, since I don't often use heavy distortion. I'll have to work on tuning that to get the sounds I need.

This amp is really quiet, don't stand close with a hollowbody, though, if you've got the distortion up...feedback is awesome from a solid body, but gets a little wild with a hollow guitar.

Reliability : No Opinion
I've never had a problem with Epiphone products, so I don't anticipate any breakdowns. I only got this, though, so I don't have anything to base an opinion on.

It is sturdy, so I would gig with it...watch out for the tolex, though, it is pretty fragile. I already had to glue a small rip, about half the size of a dime.

Customer Support : 10
I've got a question in to the designers of this amp right now. I'll see how quickly they answer and if their answer is relevant.

No repairs yet, but I already know where the service center is. 5 year warranty on this means that I don't expect anything but fun.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've been playing for about 25 years, off and on, lately since '98. I own a Johnson Millenium JM150 combo, a Randall 150 head with a full 8X10 stack, an old Gibson 50 watt tube amp. I play Gibson, Fender and Ibanez Artcore mainly for guitars.

If this were stolen, I'd be able to catch the thief myself. This rig sticks out, due to styling. If I lost it, I'd get another if I could.

I love the styling, and love the warm, tube-like sound. There's nothing to hate...nothing at all.

I compared it to Randall, VOX and Laney. This one's the best.

I wish it had a retro footpedal, and speaker cables with the cab...another 60 to 100 on top of the rig itself.

If you can find this, get it. It will really and pleasantly surprise you.

Saw the 100w head w/ matching 4x12" cab and fell in love! The oxblood color and rattan cane cloth is really sharp looking in a clearly "retro style." I bought this for fun & practice in my home. I use a smaller Marshall JTM 60w 3x10" combo in church, and for prison ministry chapel services I plug into their Carvin board (not allowed to bring my own gear inside the Penitentiary).

Sound Quality : 9
The DSP effects offer a lot of latitude for coloring your sound. The gain channel sounds better with humbuckers than with single coils...yeah, I know it is not a Mesa Boogie, but is fairly decent. Really good clean channel when used with my acoustic/electrics, and Gibson ES series guitars. Plenty loud when needed, and no "hum" when on either channel.

Reliability : 8
Bought this from Musician's Friend a year ago, just before Christmas. Unreal low price...both the 100w head & matching 4x12" cab delivered to my door for $527.00! When it arrived, the rattan "grill" on the head had come loose...I drilled the edges and put six 1 1/4" gold deck screws to re-install it. Since then, there have been no problems. Called MF service, and they said I was the only one who had called about this, but said they would contact manufacturer and ask them to use screws, not staples from an air gun, to solve the problem.

Customer Support : 10
(See the above info). MF service people were polite...offered to send me a return voucher and would replace my piece with a new unit. I declined the offer, and the head & cab have had no further problems.

Overall Rating : 10
I have played in church worship bands for 25 years. Since I use a Marshall combo amp (see above) with pedal board & 5 effects in church :) I have my bases covered. I have played a number of guitars with both humbuckers & single coils through this set up: it seems to prefer the humbuckers. This head has two features that I don't have on my peadal board: delay and flanger, and that is a plus. For the price, the features, power, and looks, are outstanding.

Amp is full of features. 100 watts, can get quite loud! Clean & dirty channels. DSP effects - chorus, flanger, delay. Channels & effects footswitchable with cute retro looking switch. Effects loop, various speaker outs, line out. Cool oxblood color with tweed & cream colored accents. It looks nice, and sounds very good when compared to competing products in even higher price ranges, in my opinion. Solid construction too, the transformer is super heavy duty, I don't see this thing crapping out on me ever.

Sound Quality : 9
I have several guitars and a huge chain of pedals that I use. I have primarilly played this amp through an EarCandy 2x12 cab. I don't use DSP effects too much, but a couple of the chorus settings were very cool! The overdrive channel sounds good, not superb, but better than I thought it would. It can get pretty heavy gain when turned all the way up. Its not a Mesa, you know, but it sounds really good. Plenty of power for up to medium sized gigs. There isn't much noise to speak of, quiet amp, even at fairly high volume. You can get a really wide range of tones out of this head, and the easy user friendly footswitching & effects make it simple and fun to use. I was pleasantly surprised by the sounds I was able to get.

Reliability : No Opinion
So far so good, but I've only had the amp for 3 months or so. Still, it seems like you would have to treat it awfully bad to break this thing.

I've played for 15 years or so. I have used many guitar amps over the years, really, there aren't many brands I haven't tried at one point or another. In its price range, this thing is very hard to beat. It can hold its own. Its quite basic, but has a lot of features. It looks really cool, attractive piece of equipment. My other head is a Sunn Concert Lead, which has pretty much unbeatable clean sound. But this was almost as good. I haven't tried out the flangers and delay too much yet because I already have a really high quality delay and flanger pedal. The chorus' as I said earlier were real nice sounding though! A great deal overall I gotta say. It is quite large and heavy, but that makes it hard to break and screw up too.
