Unsure if plywood or particle baffle board for enhanced cabinet resonance. Although small in size, it will surprise you. It will try and surprise you with a rich clean tone, distortion characteristics, and it bluffs a "big amp" impact. The overdrive channel kicks in a bunch of the distortion that would thrill a high-school Sophmore.

I've been playing for 40yrs. This IS NOT the amp of the garage-band era. This IS NOT the amp for a LEAD or RYTHMN guitar front man. But, for what it is - a practice amp, you can't really go wrong. As one of the smallest value-priced guitar amps, it offers all the hallmarks of a great amplifier: quality tones, simple uncluttered operation, and classy looks. I would say it is perfect for beginning guitarists, students & teachers and guitarists on a tight budget looking for an "extra" practice amp.
