solid state. looks like mid 70s. no amp is for everything. i use it for my collection of farfisa organs. that's right, i'm a farfisist. but i play the ones with drums, cause i love them farfisa beats. as far as features... 4 inputs, 2 for guitar 2 for organ plus the reverb and the sferasound which does a very nice leslie imitation. but the sferasound is only on the TR 70-OS, which i have. without the OS you just get reverb. the external output is handy. you can adjust the bass mid and treble a bit but it's a no frills amp. which i like. 90 watts, but old school. so it's loud. not for a stadium, but plenty for a rock and roll bar.

awesome. like i say i only play farfisa organs. my professional 110r sounds best with this amp. i have never heard the snare sound so good. mind blowing. the bass roars like a rickenbacher. but i must admit the bass drum is too deep for these 12 inch speakers. which is no problem since i plug into the house system as well when i play in clubs. on my farfisas i play drums and bass, funkrock. except i would call this sound "&^%$rock". a &^%$ in the head. i can't get over the smack of that snare and the clarity of the roar. and when i do play an occassional organ chord the highs are scintilating. bell like. i can imagine this would be great for a hollow body guitar. anything that demands a clear mid rangy sound with lots of treble too and bass, but not sub bass. there is a bit of a hum, but you don't notice it with the kind of volume this thing puts out. clean clean clean. i can't get it to distort except through too much bass and then it doesn't sound good. i can imagine with a distortion box it would give an unusual guitar solo sound. but i only play my farfisa organs.

i'm glad it's not a tube amp. i hate fixing things and buying only old vintage stuff has its dangers. but the sound is irreplacable. it's very solidly made. mine is in mint condition. only the one knob scratches when you turn it. otherwise perfect.

at 30 kilos stealing becomes difficult. i would cry if it broke or anything happened to it. as far as value for your money... amps are generally expensive. especially bass amps. and this puts out a lot of roar for a hundred bucks. you could get some chinese crap for a lot more and no matter how high you'd turn it up you'd never really hear the sound. but make sure you try your farfisa out first. because when it comes to farfisas, there's no servicing except your own handy work. and this thing is after all 30 years old.

I use it with a lot of guitars:'82 non trem Stratocaster,Ephiphone Lucille,De Armond Jet-Star,Telacaster Contemporary.Amazing clean sound, with deep bass, very jazzy feel even with the Fenders.Perfect for blues and '60/'70 rock.To add distortion i use a Hughes&Kettner Cream Machine or a Vox Disortion Booster V830.The Sfera Sound option is fantastic for Hendrixy soundsalike..

HB's and Strat's work fine. Tube-like clean sound, and Fats of it! Worked brilliantly with my H & K Tube Factor making the crunch and lead. Many sound-engineers have praised my sound with this. Easy to mix, they say.

Always worked. Used it for a few years. The basic sizzle is quite loud with the old elco's (electrolyte condenser?), and eased a bit with a artificial load with the elements I built in.

I sold it due to my recent Carvin XV-100. Farfisa was a good amp, quite large, though. And I came more demanding listening to
Robben Ford so much...
