A BASIC AMP WITH REVERB AND TREMLO

I AM A FENDER ARTIST AND USE STRATS-TELES-LES PAULS -335S AND PRS. I PLAY ALL STYLES BUT LOVE LED ZEP AND JAZZ THE MOST. THIS AMP IS TERRIBLE!!! WAS EXCITED ABOUT GETTING IT AND WAITED 3 MONTHS. IN PONE DAY I DRAGGED IT BACK TO SAM ASH FOR A REFUND. FIRST OF ALL THE TREMLO DIDN'T WORK OUT OF THE BOX. MOSTLY THE SOUND IS VERY TINNY AND METALIC BECAUSE OF THE ALUMINUM CONE SPEAKER.IT SOUNDS LIKE A BAD TWIN 2X12. I EXPECTED A LUSH DEEP SOUND BUT DIDN'T GET ONE AND I REALLY WAS DISSAPOINTED. PLAYED IT NEXT TO MY NEW BASSMAN LTD AND WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! THE BASSMAN WAS SWEET-THIS WAS SHRILL. DON'T GET IT-YOU WILL BE DISSAPOINTED. GET THE BASSMAN. PLUS IT WEIGHS A TON!!! GOOD MAYBE FOR STEEL GUITAR. REMEMBER IM A FENDER ARTIST AND IT STILL SUCKS.

5 IS GRACIOUS FOR THIS AMP. ITS VERY EXPENSIVE AND DOES NOT DELIVER-PERIOD. WANT TO SURF PLAY? THEN "MAYBE" YOU MIGHT LIKE IT. NOTHING ELSE SOUNDS GOOD. GET A DELUX RI AND MIKE IT AND IT WILL COST 1/2 THE PRICE AND WEIGH 1/2 AND SOUND TWICE AS GOOD.

The BEST ! clean sound you can get period, and trust me, I've got over 30 years experience and have played through them all (Soldano, CAE, Marshall, every other fender known to man. I own a blackface Deluxe and a SuperReverb and it kicks their A ! ) If you don't mind getting your distorted lead tone from a box and want the ultimate clean tone then this is your salvation !

2004 Twin Custom 15, 65 watts RMS, two channels, channel one includes volume, treble, mid, bass, channel two adds reverb, vibrato. 4 inputs. 1 15" Eminence speaker, ceramic magnet, a copy of the 1960's JBL D130F. Pretty basic.
I play surf, this amp has tons of clean head room for that style. It's really clean and would work well for jazz, country, and clean blues. It's loud ? you have to crank it to get headroom 'cause there's no master vol., this is a vintage-style amp. Works good with a distortion pedal such as my Ibanez TS-9.

I use a Fender Jazzmaster, a custom Carl Pettys Surfmaster with Kent Armstrong Lipstick pickups (think Danelectro), a Line 6 Variax, and a ES-335 clone. It works well with all of them, really bringing out the tonal differences of the guitars. This is a great clean surf amp, and also good for clean blues. It has next to no white noise, and if it develops any, there's an adjustment that is supposed to minimize any buzzing. This amp is really chimey, with rich, resonant harmonics and a deep, deep bass. It is less directional than the standard Twin Reverb, which helps make it a good club amp with no "hot spots," just nice even sound.
Ideal for anyone wanting clean Fender tone or a boutique-type clean amp at a decent price.

Fender has helped me on some past issues, and they seem to have it together as to repairs and customer service. Time will tell.

I've been playing seriously for about two years and have gone through several amps as I progressed. This is the finest amp I've owned and compares favorably with some high-quality amps such as the SMF and some of the vintage Fenders I have sampled. If it were stolen, I'd get another one. I love the classic Fender clean tone and the big 15" speaker, which has great bass response and really nice separation between bass tones and treble tones. I looked at many amps, this one suited my needs for a club amp that could handle medium-sized rooms and also work well in my studio.

Functionally, The Fender Twin Custom 15 (new for 2004) is a mid-60's blackface re-issue, so expect familiar features. This model is brand new but the basic design has been a proven winner for four decades. If you've played guitar for a while, don't expect any surprises -- you'll be immediately comfortable with this amp.
It's heavy but not unmanagably so. The casters are a nice touch! The reverb & vibrato sound good and the foot switch works fine. So what can I say? It's a solid re-issue of a proven design -- hard to improve on that!

I have a number of guitars but I'm basically a Gretsch guy. Hollow bodies are innately more demanding on amplifiers. Think about it -- from Chet Atkins to Duane Eddy to the Beatles to Brian Setzer plus lots more, you've got an amazing array of sounds & styles but they all played basically the same guitar! The amp makes the difference. The new Fender Custom 15 is the first thing I've seen in a long time that supports this kind of flexibility.
Fender and Eminense have done an excellent job emulating the legendary JBL D-130F 15" speaker. It gives this amp a fabulous sound, much better (to my ear) than the usual 2 x 12 configuration. It goes beyond "clean" -- this amp can provide a smooth, creamy sound if that's what you want. However, it's also amazingly responsive and will absolutely scream if that's your style. Try it with your favorite guitar. You'll be amazed at how much more responsive the guitar will feel!

I've been playing for a long, long time. Until now, my favorite was a late 50's Standel w/JBL. The new Fender Custom 15 is the only amp I've ever heard that sounds better, and I've been through quite a few over the years. "10" hardly covers it!
The only thing I can't comment on is long-term reliability -- this is a new model and I've only owned it a few months. So far so good though, and past experience with Fender products tells me this amp will last a long, long time.

My bad boy is a 2004 model. Has two channels, not a lot of bells and whistles but I wasn't looking for that. It gives me exactly what I want, clean, loud, great sound.

I use a Gibson Standard Les Paul through this and it screams "don't stop playing" I play mostly jazz, but hook up any effects pedal or sound device and you will get exactly what that tool is suppose to do without any interference from the amp.

I have been playing guitar for around 5 years and been through about a dozen amps. My last one was a Twin with 2 twelves, but when I seen this I sold it and the Custom 15. I knew it could only sound better with a nice bottom end. I guess I'm just a bottom end kind of guy :o

This is a 2004 model ,bought it without listening to it through Musicians Friend.I had a 2x12 Twin years ago ,so I knew I would love it. The 15 inch speaker was the selling point for me,I have a Fender 75 that is my favorite amp ever and that has the 15 in it too..I was looking for something with separate channels ,reverb, tremolo and miles of clean headroom. This is a very loud amp and it has almost a hi fi quality to it. Fantastic.

I play Chapman Stick and I run that with the Roland VG-88 into the normal channel of this amp,the VG-88 has an unaffected output that I run into a Rat and then to the reverb and trem channel .Running a digital device like the VG-88 into this amp is the magic tone equation for me and the 15" speaker is the icing on the cake. I also plug my Fender Electric Violin into the reverb channel and that sounds pretty cool too. The only thing that is questionable is the tremolo rate ,I remember my old twin going a bit slower. Warning though ,if you suck this amp will reveal you as the clown you are. The other cool sound I like is a Les Paul into the reverb channel ,jazz city, a mature player with soild chops will love this amp.

I have only had this one for a month and I take care of my stuff.
My Fender 75 never let me down and my old twin doubled as a workbench . Don't treat it like a whore and it will behave like a lady ..so to speak. also , never let anyone haul your gear around,
thats when stuff gets wrecked.

if you are after THE CLEAN AMP ,this is it .It is not really a "Twin Reverb" but I think the 15 " speaker really takes this amp to the next level as far as being almost full range. Oh yeah ,THIS THING IS VERY HEAVY ,not for pikers.

Brand new for 2004.This amp will put Fender back on top as the best amps in the world bar none. This amp has tone, tone, and more tone.It has so many ways of tweeking the tone-variable input jacks, one channel brighter then the other, very responsive treble, mid and bass controls-it's quiet -monstrous old time fender reverb and vibrato.
It's clean and warm.It's country and jazz-it's rock and blues-it's Cream ,Hendrix,Led Zeppelin,Beatles,Tom Petty, Neil Young,CSNY,etc......
It's straight ahead and I don't know what they did at fender but this is the best Fender I've heard since the Blackface 60's-I'm not kidding-it's awesome!!!!
It's all tube -it's sounds as if you've recorded digitally and the playback has been professional mastered by some producer wiz.The 15" Special design has such clear range it catches everything and with great natural feeling and sound.

This amp is a tone monster with Strats,Teles and especially anything with Seymour Duncans and Fralins. The Godin LG with P90's is like playing in HENDRIX HEAVEN-Warm ,full, rich and smooth. This amp is not for distortion for all you none musicians-this amp is for undiscribable harmony and sustain and I emphasis both.
Fender has not an amp in this league for years and tats bar none.Play this-buy this !!
These are 1/3 theprice of most everything and blow 99% of everything out the door!
