Fender 65' Deluxe Reverb Reissue

Maybe built in '98/'99. The amp does all I ask. It has a standard channel and a "vibrato" side. You pick one or the other (no channel switching). All clean sound, turn it up past 4 for the break-up. 22 watts, and there is plenty of volume for small and medium venues. I mike it outdoors. Drippy-cool reverb available as the name implies.
It has the tones that you've heard on alot of recordings of classic hits. The vibrato is really a tremolo and it does the "Born on a Bayou" swamp thing or the "Walk Don't Run" hollow sound.
Use a pedal (in front, no loop) for low volume distortion. No phone jack or line out.
It's 42 lbs. light. Weight was part of my choice to buy.

Great sound. Tele works best for me. Strat would too, I'm sure. Not too bad with tube hum- very minimal. Breakup comes early, but still at loud volume for small rooms or home/practice. I use a smaller practice amp for parlor work.
Works well with ProCo Rat, Visual Sound Rt. 66 & Liquid Chorus and other pedals (volume, wah) put in front.
People comment on the pleasant, vintage tones.
Tremolo and reverb are highly tweakable for classic sounds.

Unlike the '95 Blues deVille I traded in for it, this Fender has never let me down! And, it sounds better! I have neglected the tubes and, so far, gotten away with it. Of course, I have carried a backup or 2 since my Blues DeVille years.

Fender did not do well with repairing the DeVille under warranty. The '65 reissue, however, has not broken, so I'm glad that I traded and gave Fender another chance. But, that doesn't forgive the failed fix of my former amp.

I've been playing since before the original '65 Deluxe Reverb went on sale. I've not had a better amp. I have a '87 Champ 12, Roland Cube, and an old Crate (in a crate,even!).
If this were stolen, I'd puke. Then, I'd get another great tube amp. Maybe, I would look for a wattage-adjustable tube amp with more versatility. But, as it is, the "65 Re-issue" is a real winner for the money.

Best amp I every had. The sound if this amp is so precise. To get overdrive on this amp you need to krank it up. A nice pedal would complimemt.

I've rated this amp as a "6",only because,there are no "bells&whistles".Sweet and simple!All controls,are straight ahead,and amp is very user friendly.

This is the best feature of this little "bad boy".The overall tone is 100% Fender!The clean tone is sweet,and has the "jangle",when used with single coil pickups.Twang with the bang!I've owned this amp for 6 years.I kept looking around,purchasing other amps,looking for a larger sound,without the use of an SM57.I've tried a 59' Bassman Reissue,A Vox CC AC30,a 65'Super Reverb Reissue,Koch,and Mesa Boogie Mark IV.All of these amps are OUTSTANDING!They really get the job done.However,crank the Deluxe,between 6,and 7.When used with a good guitar,sporting nice pickups.This little monster will sing like a bird!!Great harmonics,sustain,and projection.I forgot about the other,larger amps,and went back to the Deluxe.The reverb is very "wet".Set the reverb dial at "2",and it's all the reverb,you'll ever need.I've been playing guitar for over 45 years,R&B,Soul,Blues,Jazz,and some country.My guitars are Gibson Flyin' V,and Explorer.PRS Custom 22,Fender Strats,and Telecaster(fitted with DiMarzio Virtual Vintage pickups),and Ibanez Maxxas.My pedalboard is fairly simple.Dunlop CryBaby,Fulltone FulldriveII(which is a perfect match,for the little Deluxe)along with Maxxon Analog,and Digitech Digital delays.Sometimes I'll use a Visual Sound Route 66 Overdrive(also a very cool piece!)I plan on checking out the Durham Electronics"Sex Drive" pedal,to add to my other units.I heard it' adds a "bang" to the overall sound.(boost)One of the really great things about this amp,is when volume is turned up on the guitar,no overdrive pedal is needed in order to get that "singing sustain"!This amp is also somewhat quiet,while running.However,bad wiring in nightclubs,and funky neon lights,can always cause buzzing.and noise.

I always depend on this amp!I have a 69' Twin Reverb,I could always use.The Twin I own,is also an OUTSTANDING amp.Fender has always had this reputation,of being the working musicians'"workhorse".(Music Man,and Peavey as well.)Take this little DeLuxe to a gig,plug it in,tune up,and play your heart out.!!!

The only time I had to speak with Fender direct,I found it to be a good experience.I spoke with one of their techs,regarding the power transformer on my Twin.The tech spoke with me like one of his friends.He answered all my questions,and informed me of other facts,which I did not know about.I purchased the amp, from Guitar Center,and the crew there,has always treated me with great respect,and concern.I'm happy with that!!

I paid a little over $700,for this amp,and it will blow the pants off, of other amps,costing 3,or 4 times more.If stolen..YES!!!I would try to replace it the next day.I understand Carr,and Bad Cat,are making some outstanding 6V6 style amps.I hear from other players these amps are "killers"!However,if you want to have your axe sing ya' some sweet,sweet music...you can't go wrong with this amp!!!Big time bang fo' da' buck!!
