Features : 8
Great features - good clean/distortion sounds, good portability, loud (but see below).

Sound Quality : 7
Overall a great practice amp. Great sound. Noisy though - constant low level hiss when no signal/ no guitar.

Reliability : 5
When I first bought it the amp's Distortion channel was quite noisy. Brought it back to the store that I bought it from - they weren't sure whether this was a "feature" or a "bug". Eventually they dialed up Fender tech support, let them listen to it over the phone, and was told to send it back. It took approx. 1 week to get a replacement. I swear the replacement amp's regular channel is more noisy than the original amp but the irregular "ocean waves crashing on the shore" noise was gone from the gain channel. I suspect this amp's innards are made in the far east and that the quality of the components fluctuates somewhat. The only reason I'm writing this review is to warn others: I would recommend you go to a BIG music store and listen to 3-4 of these and buy the least noisy unit. Check out the amp with all gain controls turned to zero, and then with all controls turned up and the "gain" button engaged (with nothing plugged into it). You shouldn't need to do this but you might be sorry if you don't. Although I can easily tolerate the noise in the replacement unit's power amp circuitry (it's still there with all the gain controls turned to zero, but I probably wouldn't be able to hear it playing outside), I find it annoying since it shouldn't be that hard to produce an amp that is quiter. After all, this isn't a $5 Taiwanese boom box but a $250 Cdn Fender amp. My old Garnet tube amp is quieter!

Customer Support : 6
OK - I guess (see above). I'm giving them a "6" since I resent functioning as an unpaid Fender quality control inspector. However
the Fender factory people were great in accepting the amp for return and sending out a replacement as fast as they could.

Overall Rating : 7
Great concept, good sound (in a relatively noisy environment) poor quality control.

Price Paid: bought at auction US $75.00

This amp is relatively new on the market and is by far the best portable amp I have ever heard. By portable I mean this thing is powered by a 12v internal battery that I have found to be good for about 4-6 hours of playing. It takes a long time to charge,(overnight) but it can also be played with the charger (included) plugged in for longer periods of time. It has a 6" speaker with the Fender logo and two channels! Yep, one for yer instrument (my guitar) and one for vocals! Each channel has a volume and tone knob. Its output is about 15 watts. And the guitar channel has an overdrive button for distortion (gets about a 5 rating). But I didn't buy it for its searing overdriven tones, I bought it because it sounds good for the type of amp it is...portable.

Sound Quality : 9
Using a Strat style guitar will probably give you the best sounds. Single coils in my opinion sound better through this amp. But let me tell ya, before I tried my strat my gibson with humbuckers sounded pretty damn good. Sound is very clean, no noise. When the volume is almost on 10 it is a bit distorted. Vocal channel is also very clean.

Reliability : 10
I have only had this amp for a few months but this thing has been kicked around with all my other gear and has so far been reliable.

Customer Support : No Opinion
This amp has a 5 year warranty which in my experience if you have ever purchased any amps or gear with more than a one or two year warranty they just don't break. But I haven't dealt with Fender's Service before. And I'm not saying that this amp won't break, it's just that with this kind of warranty if they broke all the time, Fender would probably not have given it a 5 year warranty, nobody would.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for about 15 years and have amassed a large quantity of gear.Guitars: Gibson Explorer,Gibson Invader,Kramer Striker600ST, Fender Strat,Epiphone Texan Acoustic among other Acoustics and oddball guitars.Amps: Marshall 3203 Artist half stack, Carvin X-60b head, Fender 75 head, Crate X1600 half stack, as well as several combo amps.Effects: ADA MP-1 ,Boss SE-50, Several MXR's, and other assorted effects. Not to mention Bass Scoops And other sound reinforcement equiptment.Whew. Now about the Amp Can, Can't beat it. I've heard just about every other portable out there in the same price range and nothing comes close. If somebody stole it I'd track them down and beat them in the head with it.(it weighs about 20 lbs.) The only thing I wish it had was reverb, but any portable unit will make it sound better than it already does. Did I mention this thing is in the shape of a can of paint? Hence the name Amp Can.Remember, I bought this at an auction brand new for about a hundred or so bucks cheaper than at retail. But even at retail it's still a good value and I would buy it again. Hmm, maybe I do need another one...

I absolutly love this thing. It has a plug for your guitar, with volume and tone controls, and a microphone plug with it's own volume and tone controls. It also has a handle that doubles as a stand.

Sound Quality : 10
I know, so far this is my second ten, but it deserves it. For the $160.00 (american) that I paid, It was well worth it. The is practicly no breakup in the clar setting, and on the distorted setting, you get strong distortion.

Reliability : No Opinion
I can't really say, because i've only had it for a while. It seems very durable, though.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with Fender with customer support.

Overall Rating : 10
This thing definitly deservs a ten for overall. I've only been playing for a little over a year, but I still have opinions like all of you who've been playing longer. If it were lost, first I'd try to find the person who stool it, then maul them. If I couldn't get it back, I'd have to find a way to buy a new one.
