If your reading this you already know the features-and mine has no mods-so I'll spare you the repitition. I only gave it an eight because it lacks reverb and presence, but the everything elese it does makes up for those very minor flaws.

I play an old '70's epiphone dual humbucker something or other (cornet?)and sometimes an accustic/electric(which the bassman matches the sound of it note for note, tone for tone. The sound of this amp cannot be beat. Listen to all of the other reviews and they don't lie. Really a great amp.
Wether you play it clean or pump effects in to it it'll sound awsome.
I play with a Danelectro Fab Tone and a Big Muff. The Fab gives sort of a fuzzy/distortion thing and the Big Muff is great for just flat out loud and heavy/creamy distortion. To bad the pedels feeds back so much though...

Only had it a year or so but you know how they used to make 'em, just ask any old man in your neighborhood and the'll tell you just how they made stuff way back when.

Don't know about fender repairing this old beast but Fender sure as hell doesn't have any info on their website for these old boys.

For the price you can find these for and the sound you can get- I give it a ten. Only playing about five years but I know beauty when I see/hear it. This amp takes what your guitar gives it and dosent change a thing. Every thing it does you can control with your playing style. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

This is an early 1967 blackface head with a 2x12 cabinet. Some prior owner replaced the speakers with 1963 Oxfords.

I run this with a G&L Broadcaster and occasionally a G&L Legacy. I've tried it with a Les Paul, but it sounds better with the G&L's.
It gives a bit of hum, but that's just Leo Fender's ghost, isn't it?
I play blues through this amp. At band volume, the amp has just a bit of pleasing crunch to it.

I've had several break-downs with it. Last year I had to use my back-up amp (Sovtek Mig-50) to complete a gig. Since last July the amp has been 100% reliable.

N/A. This amp is 33 years old.

I had the following modifications done. I recommend all of them:
1) Three prong AC power cord, for safety.
2) Since the amp has no "mid" knob, I had the mid value changed from its factory hard wire setting of 5.5 to 10.
3) I had the negative feedback circuit disabled. This improved the tone substantially.
Someday I'll swap for better speakers. The Oxfords are great for the mids and highs, but fart out on the low end. This is my #1 amp for gigs and rehearsals. I think it's well worth the investment.

This amp has limited features, but the features it has are plenty. It has 4 inputs: 2 normal and 2 bass; volume, bass, and treble knobs; and a bright and deep switch. Its very simple which I like. It doesn't take very long to find the right setting for you. I wish it had a knob for mid tone, but thats about it. I play bass so I don't need all the fancy effects. If you wan't more effects then you can plug in pedals and they sound great.

This amp has a great tone. The first time I plugged it in it blew me away.
Unlike most guitarists that use this amp, I play bass, and It sounds really thick. If you turn on the deep switch you get a nice smooth sound that will cut through a band like butter. It as also much louder than most 50 watt amps. The sound starts to distort at high volumes, but even the distortion sounds great. I use this amp in a rock band, but I'm sure it would work great for almost any genre. If you want a really trebly sound, then this amp isn't for you. But if you love bass, like me, then its killer.

They don't build amps like this anymore. Its hand wired, and built like a tank. The only thing that ever went bad was the tubes, but they had been in there for almost 30 years.

Never had to contact fender, but the warranty probably expired a long time ago.

I've been playing bass for 3 years and I would never use another amp unless I had to. If it ever got stolen I would try to find another, but I doubt I would get one. Nobody wants to get rid of these. I got mine from a guy that was dying from bone cancer, and for $250 it was a steal. If you find one of these buy it right away. Its a classic
