Features are the same as those listed elsewhere. 15 Watts of Tube power, 2 EL64's for power and 3 12AX7's for preamp. 12" Jensen speaker and basic control knobs. Mine is a Special Edition 2004 bought new in Jan. of 2005. Beautiful laquared tweed. None of that beat up vintage look here. Good luck buying one. I bought mine in Oklahoma city, only one in the store. In fact it had only been unboxed for 3 hours.

Sound Quality : 10
I play an American FAT Strat and a Squire Affinity Tele. Both guitars sound just awesome through this amp. The tele pickups are kind of noisy, but the Start is very quiet. I use this amp at Church that sits around 500 on Sunday morning. No need to mic this baby, plenty of power for this type of use. We play everything from Bill Gather gospel to Tree 63 modern praise and worship. This amp can be sparkly clean at good volumes. I just love it! I've tried a many amps Rolands, Fender solidstates, Marshals, Behringers, Crates, Peaveys and none come close to the sounds of this amp. I must say the Roland cube 30 and VGA-3 come close, but just can't catch that thing we call Tube sound.
Messing around with Friends we play come classic rock and blues. this amp excels at that also. You Just can't beat it!!!

Reliability : 10
5 year limited warrenty. I've owned other Fenders with no problems. Fender cover shipping cost if it does break down under warrenty.

Customer Support : 10
I expect no problems, In fact I've never had a Fender product need to be repaired.

Overall Rating : 10
This is my baby now. If it were stolen, I would for sure try to buy another one. This is a perfect match to my Fender Guitars. Don't wait any longer, go get yours today.

Features are outlined elsewhere - pretty standard really, but the controls are quite nicely voiced and "musical" compared to many other amps. I really like the Jensen and the fact that running it into other speakers is an option thanks to a proper 1/4" speaker jack. I was actually intending on picking up one of those little Pro Jrs, which are great in the studio and seem to be pretty popular live too (just saw Mark Ribot using one with Tom Waits and sounding nothing short of great). Then I saw this thing sitting in a local shop and that golden laquered tweed caught my eye. Mine's new looking - not a "relic" (thank God - that's like "pre-distressed blue jeans"!), though for something that sounds this good I wouldn't have have been swayed if it was. I've never been a reverb guy - I prefer analogue delays - so I can't really comment on the springs in this thing.

Sound Quality : 10
I love that classic clean-with-edge tone (Danial Lanois, Tom Verlaine) and mostly play a Gibson ES 135 with P-100s. I'm super-picky about distortion sounds - never use a pedal, just my guitar's volume pot to control the grit - and believe that the responsiveness of power tube grind is the only way to go. I was pretty shocked when I cranked the pre volume, set the master at a comfy level, and started playing around with my guitar's volume pot: shock of shocks, this thing cleans up the way a proper tube amp should! Tonally its pretty versatile. I've yet to gig with it, but playing it at home I'm pretty sure it'll have enough kick for live use. I did my own little shoot out against an Ampeg Jet reissue I had just aquired and I ended up trading in the Jet the same day. I haven't compared it to the stock Blues Jr, but from what I've read the Jensen is a big improvement (sure sounded better than the Jet's speaker).

Reliability : No Opinion
Seems pretty solid (again, better than the Jet). I haven't bothered opening it up but I would assume its your standard modern amp, PC board construction, which would make it the only amp I own that isn't point-to-point. Time will tell, but I would feel pretty safe taking this to a gig without a back up. As well, fact that has a speaker jack means I could run the amp into a larger cab for more stage volume or run my 20 watt Traynor Bassmate head into the Fender's 12" speaker should Jr's electronics fail - nice options to have.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've owned several Fender guitars and amps over the years and have never had a problem other than the fact that I don't really feel I'm a Fender guitar kind-of guy. I assume they'd be fine - a company doesn't become that big by treating their customers like shit.

Overall Rating : 10
Over the years I've aquired a number of all-tube, non-master combos and heads to cover the volume requirements of different playing situations, which is cool and fun but not very practical or convenient. As my favorite single 12" amp was built in the late 1940s (a scary thing to gig with - makes me nervous seeing a small crowd gathered around my bizarre-looking old harp amp), I wanted to find a solid, verstile amp in the 15 to 20 watt range that I wouldn't be afraid to take out of the house. Ironically, this thing looks so deadly and sounds so killer (and, as its a limited edition is bound to become more and more desirable) that I'm a little nervous about taking it out of the house (and for the first time ever I've ordered an amp cover for those gruelling trips from house to car/car to gig...GEEK!!!). There are lots of cool amps to choose from these days and if I had to go out and find something to replace it with I'm sure I could (those new Gibson's are pretty snazzy), but there is definitely a certain "something" about this one. I'll just hope I don't ever have to consider replacing it.

I just bought mine so it's a 2004 limited edition. My band mates both play with the standard edition (harmonica and guitar) and we play blues/rock songs. As I tried to get off too many effects even if I just use wha, TS9, sparkle drive (voodoo lab) and tuner, sometimes a vintage analog delay, I've been playing straight on the amp lately. Been happy with my blues deluxe so far but after a few years of playing I know you'll get the sound of tubes by cranking up the amp and for that you can't play on a too powerfull amp. I still can't figure who's using 100W amps, even on large venues as we just mic everybody into the PA for a better sound. So this is it, 15W all tubes is loud enough for sure to rehearse and play clubs. It has standard set up, EQ band, volume, master and reverb. Simply perfect. The difference with the standard edition is that tweed relic finish with scratches and traces of the beer bottle and the top, etc. and the HP is a Jensen special edition. Fair enough.

Sound Quality : 10
I can use all my guitars on it. Just tweek the volume knob and you have a great range between clean Fender sound to crunchy sound. Strats sound like it should be (73 and 79 with texas specials) and SRV may look down at you play straight or with a TS9. SG and Flying V are screaming. teles are my favorite lately and you'll play everything fron country/jazz to Blues, rock like rolling stones... I tried it first in a shop and was a bit disappointed by the distortion as I found the low notes were a bit dirty. It's not right. Maybe you can't hear the real sound and you don't want to pump up in the shop as some pimply teenagers are shredding shit around. This is the amp you need for classic tube sounding Blues and rock, even country. It sounds a bit higher than the standard edition, more vintage distortion.

Reliability : No Opinion
Always get a backup amp in gigs for you never know and if anybody wants to jam. Too early to say it broke.

I've been playing for 18 years and I own a dozen of guitars, an old princeton reverb I don't use (to clean and low), a blues deluxe (great amp) that I use mainly on the clean channel with drive/TS9 or driven channel straight. That one is loud; we rehearse too loud and I'm at 3 or 4 at master. I just brought this Blues junior back home and we just recorded a 7 songs demo with it. No brain storm, just plug a guitar and play. I love that simplicity and no "star war" amp! The 4wd drive blues/rock amp for me

I have two Special edition 2003 namm laquered tweed with the jensons. I play with both on stage for 50's/country and blues. I have 4 custom built guitars, 2 strats one vintage with tex-mex's the other with 57' classic buckers, one tele has lindy fralin's blues specials custom blended, and the other joe bardens..very versatile set of guitars for these amps..running both amps in small rooms...up to 300 peoples or so don't need to mic them..wood be nice to have a standby switch but they do the job. I usually run the master @max, and then control the drive with the vol..depending the axe im usin...then control it wiht the vol on the axe. it definatley works best at full tilt...espcecially with the buckers..or the joe bardens..I submitted a review un-neath the regular blues junior heading a little while ago...since then i have used the amp(s) in many small to medium gig settings with increasing satisfaction...very pedal friendly...if you need'm....

i play on the edge clean/sustain and get exactly what i need..i use a mod'd bd-2, mod'd ts-9 (to 808), a dl4, compresser, and dunlop tremolo to split the signals, standing right btween them...with one in each ear, makes my eyes twitch...i think you know what i mean. THe only curiosity i have is to play a 57 twin...i owned a pre-cbs twin w jbl's years a go and i miss that...I have since ordered a "57 twin"..

Reliability : No Opinion

use both so im not concerned about that. i am considering doing the bias mod-and replacing ghe sockets w ceramic, but other than that im not concerned. THese seem to be popular..i bought the cover and footswitch. just for the fun of it. if i bought a 57 twin I may consider selling one but i would keep one around from now on ..great amp for just plugin in and playin'...i have ordered a "57 tiwn"..and when it comes, i may sell one of these amps and use the twin for larger gigs..

Overall Rating : No Opinion
et's see been playin for 48 yrs. my first new gibson was an es125tcd..in 59' i believe...still wish i had it..learned to play like Merle travis then....wish i still could..feel free to be in touch...i luv the tweed..and fenders were my love over the years....and this little amp is a fine addition ot the stable as far as i'm concerned....

This amp was made in Mexico in 2003 and is a special edition. The features are well know to all. I have to give it a very high rating because it does not pretend to be a high-technology device. Would you expect a spoon to cut a piece of steak or a pizza? It is designed very well and excells because it is simple. The lack of bells and whistles is a plus, because what's left is pure sound. This edition is a lacquered tweed amp with a Jensen C12N speaker. No it doesn't have a headphone jack, or an effects loop, or a drink dispenser that will pour out your favorite Scotch. What it does, it does BEAUTIFULLY. I do not give high marks lightly. A product has got to show me something or I will be very reserved.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm 60 years old and have had every kind of amplifier know to man (and probably a few aliens). I've got dozens of instruments of all varieties. My favorite instruments to use with the Blues Junior are my Strats. This amp is magical. The sound of the C12N Jensen is beyond belief. Fender re-designed the circuits in January 2003. They upgraded the reverb, it no longer hums. The amp is also brighter (especially with the standard Eminence speaker). The overall balance with the Jensen C12N is just about perfect. The speaker is much better down low than the standard Fender speaker. Highs are bell-like with a roundness that sounds like it's coming out of a 4x12 stack. I especially like to use my Deluxe Super Strat (MIM). I get seven distinct sounds from the guitar without even tweaking the amp. The reverb is totally quiet and is cavernous. At 3, it's really fine. I like to use the FAT switch and put the gain up to about 3 or 4 and the master volume to about 8, the actual volume will then be controlled from the Strat. This Blues Junior is also first rate in reproducing my Martin 6 and 12 string acoustics. I use a Sony condenser mike and no reverb, because the guitar has natural overtones that really come through. My friends who are also professional musicians can't believe the sound that the acoustic guitars get through this amp. Perhaps the Lacquered Tweed plays a role in the overall sound. It seems to breathe more than the standard tolex. I also play a tenor sax through it with every control set to 5 and the reverb at 2. Again the sound is fine. Expect total quiet, even when pushed to high control settings. Humbuckers are equally fine, but tend to be very crisp through this A-B circuitry. I like the bass turned up to 7 or 8 with humbuckers, but that's up to each individual player. This is the best sounding small amp. I have ever owned, and I've owned dozens.

Reliability : No Opinion
Since this is a relatively new purchase, I can't really report on reliability. Only time will tell. There's the usual 5 year warranty, design is good, tubes are protected. I'll bet this one lasts a long time. Tubes will have to be changed from time to time.

Customer Support : 10
I've only dealt with local music stores. They are all registered Fender dealers and have stood 100% behind the products. The occasions I've called Fender directly, I got quick answers and a courteous responses.

Overall Rating : 10
If this amp were stolen, both the thief and me would be in very deep do do. First of all I doubt if I could find another one to replace it since it's a limited edition. (COME ON FENDER, WHY NOT PUT OUT A COUPLE OF THOUSAND OF THESE UNITS WITH HIGH QUALITY CONTROL, YOU WOULD SELL EVERY ONE OF THEM). The thief would be in big trouble because it would be very hard to play his quitar from the bottom of Lake Champlain. This is a magnificent amplifier that deserves to be a classic. The sound is superior to the old Princeton Reverbs I've heard, and it beats all my other small amps hands down. The overall volume isn't enough for large club work, so plan on using a mic and house PA. I have had more fun playing blues, jazz, and folk through this little gem. I have a recording project under way and the Junior is quiet enough to go in direct with a Shure SM 57 out in front. If you can find one of these BUY IT!!
