Can get features from other reviews so will not repeat here. Nice to have a "real" overdrive channel on a Fender. Would have been nice to have a Trem also but then thats asking too much.

Sound Quality : 9
Blues and Country. Big stretch for the amp. In the clean channel it is better then the Blues DeVille 410 that I traded in. The Blues DeVille didn't have that super Fender clean sound that I pref for country. The Hot Rod IMO is much better clean. In the drive channel, it is quite a bit like the Blues Deville. It gives just a touch of an overdriven Fender. Nice for blues. What is nasty is the "more drive" channel. It just crunches and distorts as much as a freind's Peavy's Classic 50 410. I feed it with Fender Teles and Gibson LP Standard and Howard Roberts Fusion. BTW...It was very intresting when I tried a Messa V-twin pedal thru the return effects loop bypassing the pre on the Fender. This gave a very Messa type sound that was great with the Tele and Strat(single coils). Not as impressive using humbuckers though.

Reliability : 7
Always have spare tubes and fuses. My amp arrived with a broken pre-amp tube amd the reverb was not fasten down (prob broke tube). This is Fender QA???? Thats why a 7.
But other Fenders that I had has been reliable.

Never dealt with Fender, local store is authourize Fender repair site. They did the final assembly of the amp which should have been done by Fender. The amp is working fine. The 10 is for the local store and not for Fender.

Don't really need two but definitely replace if lost. Love the great clean sound. Hate the weight (back breaker like any 410 combo). Tried Messa/Boogie DC3, DC2 and Subways Series, Peavy Classic 30's and 50's, Other Fenders (new and old), Roland BC, Ampeg Jets and Rockets. Like the DC3 but over priced in Canada. DC3 not as clean as the Hot Rod DeVille. Diff beasts comparing any 12, 212 against any 410. The Messa do sound nice also. The desiding factor was the clean Fender sound. Its as close to some old Twins and Reverbs that I tried. I can always add distortion via a stomp box, but there is no way to get cleaner sound if the amp can not produce it in the first place.

This amp is basically a souped up Blues DeVille with an added "More Drive" channel for heavier distortion sounds. With all 3 channels, it is possible to play anywhere from extra-clean to fairly heavy. By combining the channel switching with the tone/volume controls and pickup switches on my guitar, I can get a huge number of tones. I haven't tried the effects loop but it's easily accesible on the top panel. There is certainly enough power to make my day! Of course, I'm not a DimeBag Darrell kind of player...

I played this after playing a Soldano Reverb-O-Sonic combo, and I have to say I liked the sound of that better. But this was ALMOST at that level for a lot less price... In terms of noise, the "More Drive" channel is pretty noisy but the clean channel is perfect. The bright switch and the presence knob allow for super amounts of clarity. I was able to even play an Ovation acoustic through it without it sounding "electric". It's possible to get many warm sounds out of the thing.

Reliability : No Opinion
It's pretty heavy, so my back might give out before it does. I haven't had it long enough to say anything else.

I think it's a beautiful and great sounding amp with a LOT of versatile options available. The extra distortion channel makes this MUCH better to me than the normal Blues DeVille and worth the extra amount of $$. The one thing I would like is removable casters to wheel it around!
