Mine is probably one of the odler ones, since it has only one channel with gain (no push button). it has a headphone jack but that's it.

i gave it a higher rating because i changed the gain pot. i have used a telecaster custom with humbuckers and a gretsch 6120 with this amp (i bought it for my son). the distortion was completely horrible, but i changed the gain pot from a 500K to a 10500K and the distortion is now pretty good, think of a boss blues driver pedal. i wish it had reverb but it's cheap so you get what you get.

i have been playing for about 13 years and just bought this for real cheap for my kid to learn on. but i b=never thought of changing parts, like the pots would make such a big change in sound try and see there cheap. i compared it to a vox pathfider 15 and the vox blew it away hands down, no competition.

I bought this yesterday,at a used antique shop, here in Woonsocket,R.I. for the measley sum of $40.00.It's 2 channels and has controls for Gain,Volume,Treble,Mid,Bass, and Presence. Now,this is not a amp that you can gig with, although if you hooked it up to a speaker column, you could probably get a halfway decent sound with it.It also has 2 imputs for a ext 8ohm speaker, and a headphone jack.If you're a beginner,or just want something to use at home to practice with, then this isn't bad at all.I contacted Fender when I got home, and they told me that the one I have is a 1999 model, and it was made in Korea, not Indonesia like the squier crap that is out now.

The clean chennel on this, isn't that bad.It took me a while though to get a proper setting. The distortion though is another story. The distortion an this amp has a very tinny, high pitched tone to it,and it sounds horrible. It's nothing compared to a Frontman 15,which sounds a lot better. My only beef with this amp as far as the clean goes,is that there's no reverb, but then again, you could hook up a reverb pedal to it,in oreder to compensate.Of course,I used my strat on this, which compliments the clean channel quite nicely.Like I said, this is a good amp for a beginner to learn with.

This little ****** is solid. You definately could not use this on a gig,so don't even bother.Considering that this is a 1999 Squier and not a Fender amp,it seems like it's pretty tough and dependable. Then again,I believe that if you take care of your equipment,it should last you a lifetime.

I've been playing for 35 years, and if this were lost or stolen would I replace it? I seriously doubt it.I only bought this, because I though it would be a neat little item to have. It's good for when I want to play at night and put on some headphones and not have to worry about the neighbors,or having my wife say that it's too loud.I wish that this amp had some reverb and that the distortion channel could have some oommph,to it.I own a Fender MIM 60th anniversary strat and a Peavey USA made,Studio Pro 112.

I thought this amp sounded pretty good till I got a little Fender Frontman! Then the distortion seemed laughable and the bass was totally inadequate.

I got it for free. A friend found it sticking out of someones trash. I got it fixed for $35 cause I couldn't find the transistor. (It had exploded so I couldn't read the numbers)
I don't use it too much anymore. (see Frontman)

I just paid the $35 bench fee to have it repaired at Hollowoods in Pgh. The part was like $3 I think. If I had known how it sounded I wouldn't have spent the money.

15 watt practice amp. You've read about all the features in the reviews below. I use this amp for practicing in my room.

clean channel is nice at moderate volume levels. Gain is kinda harsh when turned all the way up, but only morons would turn the gain to 10. Keeping the gain to about 3, and bringing the volume up, you get a pretty good crunch thats good for most rock songs.

the cabinet is solidly built. Only problem i had was, the transformer came loose inside, and the way they have it bolted in is kinda funky....so it took me the better part of a 1/2 hour to reattach the 1 bolt. no biggie.

THIS IS NO MY MAIN AMP. ive read numerous reviews on this web site where people belittle equipment for being too wimpy, or not good for gigging. Amps like this are NOT MEANT FOR GIGGING. Being mad at this amp (or one like it) for not cutting it at a gig, would be as dumb as getting mad at a wiffle ball not cutting it in a major league baseball game.
With that said... I've been playing for over 10 years and own a couple of fender amps (performer 1000 and a Stage 112se), A 1970's Sunn 4x12 cab, a strat, a tele, a jagmaster (got a jagmaster you wanna sell cheap? email me!), a Yamaha apx-4a, and misc sound reinforcement equipment(32 channel board, multi channel snakes, mics, etc.)
this is good for a practice amp. id advise finding one used if you want one, it would be a good buy. if mine were stolen, id probably be pretty mad, but i wouldnt replace it with anything...id just have to bring in one of my combo amps.

I bought this amp in 1997. Fender's 50th anniversary!!!
Made in Korea.
This was the only amp I liked that sounded good for my budget.
You know the features. Very limited.

It sounded great when I first bought it but cant say much now.
Good for clean sound but stay away from the distortions... this amp sucks!! A good amp for a beginner but not for the pros. If you have played with a tube amp or a hybrid amp... this amp does not come close in any way.
This amp does not do gigs! Period!
The amp does produce some sweet tones after playing for a couple of hours. I guess it performs well when its all fired up!!

Looks sturdy to me. Never used it for gigs. Its meant to be a practice amp and nothing more. I guess it will sit in your bedroom for a very long time unless you decide to thrash it.

Been playing for the last 9 years.
I would not replace this amp if it was stolen or broken. I would buy a Peavey.
I dont really love or hate this amp. Its my first amp that I could afford and its still working when I need it. The only problem is that it cannot produce good tones or distortion that I want.
Buy it if you are on a tight budget and if you are just starting out as a guitarist.

It is a good bedroom blaster, headphone jack is good for beginners to play with so everyone doesn't get sore ears from your playing. It would be good if it had channel selectors.

I used mine with a pro axe strat replica, it is noisy at really high gain. The amp can make some nice clean sounds and also some crunchy distortion.

I've been playing for 4-5 years i own a 30w Roland Blues Cube, and a Yamaha Pacifica 112 pulled apart with a new homemade body and paintjob also a clear pickguard and retro nobs off an old stereo for the tone, volume and pickup selectors. It's called the BEAST.
Back to the Champ I love its crunchy distortion with both gains up high. It's also good as a mic speaker.

I bought this amp in 2001 for bedroom practice.
The good thing about the features is the ext speaker output.
Not really versatile as only the clean channel is usable.
no reverb,no FX loop.

OK,let's get straight to the point:this amp is only good at clean sounds! And it does that quit well, especially with a humb. neck pick up or single coils.the sound is pleasant, precise and very clear, very usable indeed.
The distortion channel must be the worst known to mankind.Simply pointless.I'm not going to waste time here to describe it.
The amp is what you would expect for a 15W,but when I plug it into my 1936 Marshall cabinet it becomes loud, yes!Far too loud for the bedroom anyway and it sounds really good, with more bass and a deeper overall sound!
So I'm going to rate this amp for its clean channel, for the 'distortion'one it's 0/10!!

does the job: nice clean sounds at bedroom level.
I didn't try the distortion before I bought it,because it was not the point (this amp is not made for that)therefore I won't judge this amp on the distortion,it would be stupid! But if you need a good laugh guys, listen to it once!

The distortion sucks it hard. It gives me horrible headaches because it's so trebly. The bass should have to go to 20 to prevent the squaking bird sounds this thing makes. The clean is alright.

This thing broke down a few weeks ago. I plugged in, and nothing. I haven't done anything to neglect it, it just sits in my room, no abuse. If I turn the gain up all the way I can sort of hear the guitar, but the buzz is horrible.

It does have the eq knob settings. But i run a Digitech RP 300 through it, and the digitech's instruction manual says to leave all the eq knobs at 5. It has channel switching, but i always leave it on clean and let my Digitech do everything.

I play the Affinity Squire Strat that came with the Strat pack. It works fine i guess, i want to repleace the pickups on my strat with seymour duncans. Its kind of a waste when playing with a multi-effects processor that costs almost as much as the entire strat pack itself.

It works fine. I basically just use it for the speaker, as the Digitech does everything for me. When using the distortion through the Digitech however, it volume seems to be a lot lower compared to the clean sounds.
