just updating things. had a recent chance to play a newer two rock custom signature reverb. nothing's changed. the fuchs to me has a sweetness you have to hear. the two rock is a good amp, but i'm sold on fuchs. tried a two rock when i bought the fuchs in 2005. the fuchs won.

Sound Quality : 10
used a 2x12 jbl cabinet--4 ohms & 600 watts & a 2x12 eminence 25 & 125--8 ohms & 100 watts. both oval backs. used les pauls & a santana md. robben ford tones all day. the two rock just seemed to be missing some punch. played with the controls--set them the same & everywhere in between. used no effects other than the amps reverb.

Reliability : 10
had the fuchs serviced in 2008 due to a ground coming loose. andy did update the amp. blew me away. it sounded great before--now i can't believe the tone.

Customer Support : 10
fuchs has always backed up their stuff. very satisfied.

Overall Rating : 10
haven't bought an amp since 2005--the fuchs is the last. the one amp i haven't tried is a glaswerks. they look impressive. but i'm sold on fuchs. his hrm mod sounds cool, but i don't need it. the standard settings internally from fuchs is enough for me. the amp sings & sings. & the price of an ods 100 is better than a two rock.

All Tube Head in gorgeous Blonde. Push-Pull Potis and Mini Switches for Rock, Jazz, Bright and Deep will give you more Soundvariations, then you can see at first sight.
Its heavy and small, like a Mesa short-head. Effects Loop on the back. Thats mostly it.
Two Channels and much more than meets the eye.
Built like a Tank!

Sound Quality : 10
Supernice Cleans, like Fender with a shimmer to it. Warmer, nicer smoother, but play with the switches and you get it all quacky or jazzy. Overdrive is one of the best I ever played and believe I had my fair share.
This one turns you inside out... goose bumps for more than a day.
It doesnt get in that Metallica, Heavy Metal genre... but hey.. thats not what it is built for.
The Reverb is 10/10 ! Absolutely and for 100% sure the best I ever had in an amp.

Reliability : 10
As I said... built like a Tank!

Its one of a kind, an amp you wont let go!

Fuchs ODS Amp and Speaker Cab The clean channel has brite and deep switches, as well as a rock/jazz switch, which changes the way the tone controls operate. Rock is a more aggressive and punchy bright tone, which jazz is lean and audiophile-like, being more balanced and smooth. There are passive high mid and low controls. The high control pulls for a mid boost, the mid control pulls for gain boost (which bypasses the tone controls). The clean channel acts as a preamp to the overdrive channel, and the tone controls and EQ switches are all active during overdrive use, including all boosts.

The overdrive channel features separate OD in and OD out controls. OD-in sets the level of saturation in overdrive, while the OD out control sets the final balance between clean and dirty channels. There is a global master volume, master reverb and accent control, which adds presence and edge to the output stage.

The entire audio signal path is fully tube (except reverb). The ODS features a regulated high voltage DC supply for lowest noise, consistent tone despite line voltage variations, and also features regulated DC preamp tube heaters for additional noise reduction. These techniques are used in the finest audiophile and tube studio equipment, and are unique to guitar amps.

Sound Quality : 10
Well I love this amp it does everything I need and then some. I was fortunate that this came with the Artist 6 way foot switch. I love the clean channel it's not sterile like most amps, sounds like a great old Fender really punchy. Overdrive is outstanding I was able to adjust the internal trim pots to get a very woody organic lead tone.
It's very quiet no weird squealing when the gain is cranked.
This amp can cover allot of ground from blues to hard rock to fusion to some forms of jazz. build quality is outstanding.
No problems yet.
I haven't' needed it yet accept for buying some creme knobs to replace the black ones. They got them to me super fast.

I'm using this with a R9 Les Paul with Wolftone Dr.Vintage Pickups & a Eric Johnson Strat loaded with Lindy Fralin 43 42 Pups.

I'm using a Marshall JCM 800 cab loaded with vintage G12-65's
a 68 Marshall slant loaded with vintage Celestion G12H-30's 55hz bass cones.

Effects: Budda Wah,Octron Octave divider,T-Rex Replica,Digiverb,Ernie Ball Volume pedal, Boss DD-6 and a Marshall Reflector.

Cords: Magami

I play mostly Blues rock, been playing for over 30 years.

Play one of these then go down to your local Guitar Center and plug in to one the run of the mill production amps and you will sell everything to get one of these they are that good. I've been amp shopping for 2 years and have bought and sold almost 20 amps up till this one. I won't be selling this one. It will sit next to my old Marshall's that I've had for over 20 years as a permanent member of the family.

If it were stolen or lost I would buy another as soon as possible.
There are similar amps out there but their pricing is unrealistic and they don't have all the little nuances and features the ODS has.

The only thin missing is a breeding button that you could push and it would produce another amp when needed.

this is a 2005 model. this amp covers alot of tonal territory. very sweet sounds, even boosted. this is a 2 channel amp with channel switching. it has an effects loop that can be switched from series to parallel. it has 3 switches that add bright, bass, or smooth the tone out from rocking, but it still can get driven in this mode. you can pull the treble control for more mids, & pull the mid control for overdrive without the tone controls in the path. this amp has the slx update. it is a fun amp.

Sound Quality : 10
this amp for me has the sound. studio friendly. i've tried other boutique amps, & they do what their makers say they will do. two rocks are great, but price wise i couldn't pass on the fuchs. you will need dog ears to really hear a difference. turned up, i liked the fuchs. good & rich sound, either channel. the clean stays clean. andy sets the overdrive at the factory & i have no complaints with his feel for tone. you can have the overdrive adjusted with an internal trimmer, but it came set fine. he will also set up an amp for you to suit your tastes. mine has 6l6's, you can use el 34's. i have a 2x12 cab with the fats-1 speakers, & this gives me a nice clean sound. with drive, you get an ev-jbl feel. i have used lp's, strats, & p90's, & they all come across the way i want. i'm having fun.

Reliability : No Opinion
easy to service, & i'm not worried about a backup. haven't had any problems, & hope i don't.

Customer Support : 9
i emailed andy with some questions, & got answers. this has a 3 year warranty.

Overall Rating : 10
i get the sizzle with this amp when i want, & it will play nice & clean with a big sound. good sound clarity. it does what fuchs says the amp can do, so no complaints. i may try his train 45 just for fun & a difference. he just had an article in tone quest, & in reading it he re-inforced some of the questions i had asked him. if you're looking for a dumble-like sound, this amp can go to that sound. just remember, hardly any one or two dumbles were built the same, so comparisons are not fair. the two rock is good, try it & get your own opinion. today, their are plenty of sounds to find with the many amps out there. the price is where most other boutique guys are asking for theirs.
