Took the plunge and ecsstatic with the high-Fi sound of this monster.
Cleans BEG you to play longer...very dynamic in rock mode..tamed in Jazz without compression which baffles me..BIG difference beteen the 2.
Switches for single coils or himbuckers are very versatile and ork really well.
Metal 'players' go buy whatever...a few Boogies I have owned would do you fine..
30 watt combo...plenty versatile and loud enough for vintage rock R&B band..reverb is FINALLY as it should be...absolutely awesome..
D voiced amps are as different as everyone says...but not difficult. ..Best effects loop I have ever heard..Vox Time Machine, Yamaha UD stomp (8 delays in 1) and others have studio quality in parallel mode..series is available but this gives send & return knobs so 'unity gain' is easily attained..(power in=power out)
Chanel one is preamp for overdrive channel and mid boost is amazing..Pedal friendly but "input gain must be set right...out of about 40 amps I;ve owned this is the most versatile hands down so that's a 10!

'53 tele Dad bought new, '87 PRS I bought new, PRS McCarty Hbody 2, 2 strats, others..Es=175, Ibanez AF125 etc.
Dead quiet except for full tilt overdrive. I was a tad disappointed with overdrive at first until the Mahogany MONSTER '87 PRS was plugged in..Hello Carlton & Ford and then some..woah!!! Cascading gain stages has always been my approach and Fuchs figures out how to do it right for "That sound" I have always craved. Bridge position approaches mild Marshall classic ZZ.
Single coils sing very nice and super cleans but Buckers make is really sing and howl.
Jazzy / Blues heaven for sure.
But each guitar retains it's character very well. The cleans have an astounding hi-fi quality as if running through a NEVE console or high end tube preamp...amazing textured cleans very Dynamic and very 'stringy'...beautiful!!

Playing 45 years..Fender twin in late 60's (still own it), Marshalls, to Boogies, to ADA MP1 Rack days, back to Boogies, mark4, Dc 5, 22 caliber, triaxis, Yamaha Dg -80, many others along the way a lot of Fenders..still love my 2 Blues juniors stereo for small live gigs.
Too many high end stomps.
I L O V E the sound and it is more than I expected at any price ... feature heavy as amps go. It was the most I have spent in a while on a rig & worth every cent..Life's too short to let life or wife rule!
Yes I'd get another.

Mine is a 100 Watt ODS loaded with Sovtek 6l6's. Simplicity is always a favorite of mine but having the push pull knobs on the front I have always been a fan off and the ODS is as compact and friendly featured as you can get. Back is typical enough so what more can I say but give it a 9 here. I would give a straight 10 if it had universal power supply but not much fuss from me here.

Yes well I am not gonna bull shit as I have owned some pretty awesome amps over the years but this would have to be up there with the very best that I have heard. Astounding lead channel and when you add a touch of reverb it just sings very violin-like......think Vai with his sustainiac but "hell there is no sustainiac as it's the amp doing all the singing here folks". The clean channel is also beautiful to just sit down on play through and I always like to keep the rock switch on during overdrive and cleans as it adds a little more ooopmh to my sound overall. The amp can pretty much do it all and it's extremely touch sensitive and the slightest adjustments will open up another door of sounds, you will get any amp you been after in this little rectangle box called Fuchs. The only type of music it would not be intended for is heavy metal but I just add my Metal pedal when needed for that style. Simply put it's quite an awesome amplifier and I have now owned and played Bogner XTC, MK2C+, Two Rock (very similar but nicer lead channel on the Fuchs), Fender Twin Reverb, Soldano SLO (bloody hell so overrated), Marshall, Peavey and Egnater.

I think this is my amp to be and will be till death do us apart. I love solo and instrumental music and for me I really dig an amp that sustain's for days with creamy warm leads and this amp is the best I have heard. It will show your true playing ability also but the range of tones you can find is quite phenomenal. I was looking at getting another Fuchs but the triple drive supreme until I found out that the lead channel is essentially all the same except for the cleans so I thought hell why dish out all that money for the same amp again.
A truly well worth amp folks and always try before you buy but luckily foe me I took a gamble and it paid of. Best of luck in your search for the ultimate tone I highly recommend this one though : )

I bought mine new about 2 years ago. It's the ODS100 SLX Artist model. I play blues/rock/metal in a band called Autovenom, check it out on myspace. The amp has PCB power distribution and is otherwise point to point wired. There is nothing that this amp is lacking, in my opinion.

This amp sings, and I love an amp the sings! I have not pulled the chassis to beef up the gain because I look for amps with great clean qualities, and then add my own distortion. So I pretty much use clean settings on all of my amps and run effects into the front. I've never played through a Dumble...I couldn't afford to even look at one. But I have played through many great amps within my 30 years of playing guitar and I'll go out on a limb and say that this IS the best sounding amp that I've EVER played through. If you are looking for studio-quality, high-definition sound then this amp is a great one. Pristine top end and MASSIVE low end when I plug it into a Marshall 1960A cab...and again it SINGS even at moderate volumes. I use various guitars including Fender Strats (SSS), Gibson Les Paul and SGs and a couple of USA made Jacksons and they all sound great through this amp.

I keep a couple of really nice Mesa's, a Fender, a Marshall, a vintage Silvertone and this amp around. All of them get used in the studio but the ODS mostly. There's really no comparison to other amps that I've playing through, it's got it's own character about it and that character is what you want it to be. In other words, I was able to find the sounds that I always wanted with it. The price was a little steep but I'm glad that I got it. If you're looking for an amp to plug staight into to get hardcore metal sounds from than keep looking. If you want a studio quality user friendly amp that sounds like heaven, than you need to check this amp out. The only thing that I need now is for Andy to sponsor me a couple of these stacks! What about it Andy? LOL!

Having Bogner, Mesa Boogie, Vox, Yamaha DG series amps: I was looking for a smaller but "hi-end" after getting stiffed by Howard Dumble (quite a few people have). This ODS-50 combo (2004-2005) is #0056 and will get the upgrade soon. But it goes from clean to scream in a flash, quietly too. Good reverb, and well-made. From studios to jobbing to clubs: it will do the job. The FX loop is top drawer & works with racks & pedals

From jazzier stuff to blues to rockier stuff: it will cover the range and then some. Using Ed Reynolds, PRS Custom 24, Koll customs & Collings: it will do all that you want it to do. The special design 12" handles tones & response is quick. Louder than you would expect too. A smooth & variable distortion: you can dial up your fave. No buzzes in any way.

Along with a Lone Star Special, this is one half of my double approach. After playing 40 years with a studio & storage locker with Bogner Shiva, Vox AC-30 TB, Yamaha DG, Boogie L-S Special: this amp has it's own mojo. I just wish I had known about the higher end pedal for performance/studio aspects; and that I had to find out about the SLX/SLR upgrade off their site.

I didn't think this amp could sound better, but it does. The SLX upgrade smooths out the midrange more and really adds more chime, complexity, and sparkle to the top end. Its really apparant in clean mode. Overdrive is still absolutely killer, but now there's more touch sensitivity and chime.
I'm using a Mullard ECC83 in position 1 and a Tele in position 2 and TAD 6l6 for the power section.
I've had this amp for almost a year and a half and still find myself saying "Damn, that sounds good!!"

I wish the guy who left the "scathing" review would have left his email. Makes me wonder if he even tried the amp, but I have to give him his word. I'm sure that if he left his email, he could help some people who are looking to buy either a Fuchs, or a Two Rock, etc. He could be able to answer specific questions about tone since he's obviously played the other amps. Its funny but I know a few people who have played two rocks and dumbles and find the fuchs definately a better value.
Please reviewers, give specifics to what it is you don't like, it can help fellow future purchasers.

First of all, I want to say that I do not want to offend anyone and that these are only my opinions. I really wanted to like this amp, but quite honestly...It's a toy compared to either Dumble or Two-Rock amps in my opinion. The cleans were not that impressive, the reverb is cheesey, the gain channel is too compressed and sounds like it has a fuzz tone in the circuit, and the loop is nothing to write home about. It lasted a few weeks at the house, but I had to unload it and have not looked back since. I feel bad about the scathing review, but I feel that my impressions are as valid as anyone's. I've heard some very nice clips of this amp, but I found it to be a different story in the real world.

Fairly good amp for the money. It makes the Dumble realm of tone available to a lot more folks because of it's price point, but it's certainly not in the same league as some of the other "D" clones in my opinion.

bought this amp used at a store, they had lots of people tryin it out,but there was somthin wrong with it.the store had it fixed a couple of times but it never worked right.I knew from workin on amps myself, that it had to be somthin simple, and it was.just a loose wire to the circuit board and a bad output tube.
got this ODS 100 with 2 12 cab with EVMs for 1500 bucks! score!!
called Andy at his shop and he gave me a few tips as well.GOOD PEOPLE!!!
I own and operate a recording studio as well as being a fulltime musician
and a client brought one of these amps in and I was very impressed with the way it recorded.so when i got a chance to get one i jumped at it.
I play all original blues rock (black keys, hendrix, cream ext) and in the studio i get to do alot of different styles of music as a session player.
this amp sounds great with my 60s relic strat,52 tele reissue, and a 1960 historic les paul. live i don't use all the bells and whistles this amp offers cause i am old school ,use the vol knob, tube screamer kind of guy.hate dancin on a pedalboared, rather try and make music(oh ya that!)
but in the studio, all the extra gizmos come in handy! the way i can tell is,whatever sound i am going for (cln, crunch, dist.,) with this amp i don't have to do so much tweekin,it just gets there fast, sounds great and i can spend more time makin music(oh ya that again!)

OK I am NOT a fan of robbin ford's tone(Robbin on the other hand is a great!
musician and person) and DUMBLE DUMBLE DUMBLE bla bla bla!!
yes it sounds kind of like a DUMBLE with all the smooth, sustain, distortion ext
(i have worked on a few Dumbles and played thru them many times)
and it has a fender vibe as well, thats what i like about this amp the most.
kind of inbetween a F and a D.
never get rid of my fender amps, but this is a fantastic added tool to my trade!

having worked on this amp and having seen the fine work and detail on the inside,i don't worry about this amp goin south to much.
special note: the inside of this amp is like a 57 chevy, all the parts are easy to get to and nothing has been hidin like some parts in a dumble are(so ya won't steel his ideas!)
having said all that, don't care what amp ya got,if you don't have some kind of spare,it will bite you in the ass sooner or later!

i have been playing for 30yrs,and have been using fender amps most of my life.my experience has been most amps are one trick ponys (they all do ONE thing great(AC30s,Marshalls,gibson,ampegs) i love them all.
there is an old saying(you can make a fender sound like a marshall, but ya can't make a marshall sound like a fender)
this amp covers alot of territory as far as sound goes, does the over the top fender sound very well, the smooth pop, funk thing as well as heavy distortion
I have tried many custom amps over the years Carr,Kendrix,Z,bla bla bla!
they all are very well made and all sound fine in there own right.the fuchs
just fits me better, like an old pair of jeans.
the only thing i wished it had was a good tremelo, but low and behold, after lookin at the fuchs site, you can get one installed at a reasonable price!

I talked to several dealers before I bought my amp, but the most personal dealer I talked with was great (Michael Lewis)

and he plays really well to.
After hearing the samples on his website I had to have one of these amps.
He had a couple of differant ones in stock, I highly reccomend this guy.
The only time I had to deal with fuchs directly was when the volume got really quite, Andy told me to get a new tube for it and sure enough it worked.

I own a ODS 50. Not sure of the exact year. It's one of the early ones, serial number 0026 ( I understand they're in the 400's now). I find this amp to be very versatile. In fact I can see myself becoming frustrated in the future simply because I won't be able to choose just one sound. I'm more of a plug and play guy, where this amp takes some time to dial in. Make no mistake about it, when you find "it" this amp will ruin you for any other amp. My style or styles change by the hour. I love great music and my radio dial and CD collection varies from jazz and blues to country to alternative from funk and disco to classical to mountain music. It's all over the place. The ODS 50 is a two channel amp with reverb and a serial/parallel effects loop. The front panel has a HUGE selection of knobs both push/pull and standard. Every one of them do something special. Pst, not sure if it's this way for every ODS but the amp that I have has three trim pots inside the amp chassis which in and of themselves will keep you busy for weeks. If you think this amp can't get that super heavy saturation, guess again. Personaly that's not my thang but whatever. By the way be careful when playing inside your amp, YOU WILL DIE if you're not careful. I use this amp in a six piece band (www.rettigband.com) complete with hammonds and it does just fine. The truth is that if I had it to do over again I would have bought the 100w or larger but strictly for selfish reasons.

I use a PRS McCarty with stock pickups and a Stratocaster with Lace Sensor Holy Grail pickups. Both sound incredible with this amp. The amp is beautifully quite (after some work, more on that later). This amp can make some realy cool sounds and I love the way it starts to lose it at the end of a sustained note. This amp can get as uncontrolled as you want or as tight as you want it. It's up to you. The OD trim inside the cahssis can and does unleash the beast in this amp if you're into that. Be careful when playing inside your amp, YOU WILL DIE if you're not careful. The clean channel on it's own can get edgy, in a good way, when dimed. The clean channel can also clean up nicely when the volume knob is rolled back or a volume pedal is used. One last thing, if you're playing this amp and it sounds like shit, chances are it's not the amp! Trust me, I know. I've had to alter my playing alot. Garbage in, garbage out!

I haven't had it long enough to give a proper review in this catagory. I usually only take one rig. However, I've never been in a situation where I had my rig crap out. I imagine that when that day comes I will feel differently on the two rig concept. With all do respect to Fuchs, the amp appears to be built like a tank and I wouldn't think twice about gigging with this amp only. I bought this amp off of an on-line auction site, people please beware, and when I received the amp there were some problems and I was pretty bummed. I wrote a few e-mails to Mr. Fuchs and that will take us into the next catagory.

I've got to be honest with you, I was nervous about calling or writing Mr. Fuchs with having bought it used and not knowing who did what inside his amp. But I wrote an e-mail, called his shop and Mr. Fuchs personaly wrote back and his secretary(my have been his wife, not sure)returned my call quickly. both experiences were incredibly pleasent. I wrote him because when I received the amp it had a very unpleasent hum (keep in mind that this was a used amp and NOT new from his shop) and was virtualy useless in the overdrive channel also, when I plugged in a rack, forget about it, it was horrible. Needless to say I was devastated. After a few e-mails, of what for him must have been just some of the stupidest questions I'm sure, and working down the list of possibilities he nailed it. It was the grounding screw. Yep, the grounding screw! Anyway, my point is that I'm just some dude who happens to play guitar but he treated me with respect and kindness and didn't make me feel like I was wasting his time. Oh, and by the way the amp is 110% now and sounds INCREDIBLE! I can't say enough good things about Mr. Fuchs, the people he has working for him, his amp and his whole operation. Thank you Mr. Andy Fuchs, I wish you the best!

And other than the blackface Fenders the ODS50 is my favorite amp. If it were lost (lost?) or stolen (I would hate to be that guy) I would absolutely, in a heartbeat (once I saved up another $2,500.00) go out and buy me another ODS, definately. $2,500.00 may not sound like a fantastic value but do your homework and realize what you're getting and compare it to the other builders building this style amp and it's a fantastic value. Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I purchased the Fuchs Overdrive Supreme 50 Head from the American Guitar Boutique in October of 2004.
I have had / am having, a bad experience after having the local and fabled guitar amp speciallist put in JJ tubes in my Mesa Boogie Mark IV 1x12combo. In the process of driving me nuts I found myself on the info highway checking out amps. I was excited by the idea of the whole on Mesa Road King monster rig having used nothing but the Mark IV for the last 13 or so years. It was purely by fluke that I ended up seeing a thread of some unfamiliar forum saying how this "Fuchs Overdive Supreme" gets tones that you would associate with Robben Ford and Larry Carlton. Well.......Such talk would, and did, grab my attention! Zipping over to this Fucks site, oops, Fuchs site, I was able to hear some clips of his product that blew me away. I find that Mr Fuch's (Andy), is a killer musician/guitarist, plays the same axe as me and has brought to market my dream amp over the last few years.
This amp provides all of the features that I need to be a professional recording and performing musician. All controls and features are well implemented and highly responsive. Like any sophisticated piece of equipment, you will have to sit down
and begin to conduct your own research and experiments. ie twist knobs in all directions
Aside from grinding Death Metal (poor choice for Slayer) I can't imagine a good guitar
player not being able to get some form of pleasing tones be they clean or high octane screaming feedback distorition. Yeah!

My main axe is a PRS Hollowbody 1 w/piezo. My effects include a 535Q Dunlop Wah, the Legendary Tones' Time Machine Boost, Voodoo Labs Micro Vibe, MXR EVH Phase 90, Ernie Ball Stereo Volume, Line 6 Echo park through the FX Loop or FUCHS ODS 50 soon to be plugged into a custom built Tone-Tools 4x12 Cab filled with Red Fangs and Weber speakers.
I'll try not to be too redundant. This should be fairly simple; 1. If you don't know who Robben Ford or Larry Carlton are then you must stop cold and do some research.
2. If you of course are familiar with the "sounds" of these master muscians then you can full-heartedly visualize and be confident that this wonderfully musical tube amp will take you to the coveted dream tone.
3. I think the distorted tone would blow the minds of most rock guitarists if you can feel at ease with tones that lean to lets say, Southern Rock, David Gilmour, EVH, Eric Johnson and yes for the last time Carlton and Ford.
Bebop is a passion for me so the clean sounds on any amp I use are vitally important. No problems here, I would guess that most Jazz, Blues and rock guitarists would potentially find this amp to be a dream come true.

I would be so bummed if I do experience reliability problems down the line however the crafstmanship strikes me as second to none. It's brand new so if I have problems in the future I will let you all know.
