I bought this solid state amp new in the eary 70's.They were made in Toronto, Canada. It has two channels. One with reverb and the other without. Each channel has an effects input. The amp didn't come with a foot switch so I had to buy one that allowed me to switch between channels. It worked fine. It has an output on the back that allows you to connect to a "slave" cabinet/cabinets. I used this feature once and it worked great.
I gigged with this amp in clubs that held upwards of 2-300 people and volume never seemed to be a problem for me. I really had nothing to compare it with though! Our band was constantly encored so it must have been working OK....(or they just felt sorry for us!!!)

I wanted an amp that was within my limited budget at the time and that kicked ass when I needed it to. I had seen a very popular Canadian band named Lighthouse using GBX equipment and it sounded wonderful for them. (2-12 Celestions)I play rock and blues and on the overdrive channel it really pushed air.I used a foot swith to go from the clean channel to the overdrive/reverb channel with an additional electro harmonix Hot Tubes pre/amp/effects pedal and a WEM Copycat delay in between. I was playing a 66 Tele with a Bill Lawrence Humbucker in the back and a Mighty Might up front. This amp is very heavy and very loud!

-I have never had trouble with this amp until the kids put a heel through one of thre speakers and a clothes hanger fell and went through the other. I repaired the speakers with duct tape (Canadian RX for amps!)on the back and roofing tar on the front. Seem to work OK for practicing. I would be very nervouse about reliability for sure!

I have been playing for about 36 years. I also own an Ovation electric legend and am in the process of purchasing a Fender Hot Rod Deville 2-12 version.I will continue to use the GBX as a back up/practice amp and when it's finished it will make a great boat/raft anchor.
