Amp appears to be a later model before they stopped production. Might be an early 88 model. Just not sure. Amp is a atomic bomb considering it's size. There is a lot of reviews of these describing these amps. It is Very verstaile in and out of studio. I use it to practice with headphones on through the AUX in for CD player.

Use a PRS Custom, Fender Strat and Rick 12 string through it and they all sound great. It has tons of distortion and clean too. A little too much distortion for me but if you back off on your volume it's ok. The chorus and echo I think MAKE this amp worth the price. THe compressor also is a nice feature as it tightens up the sound. I used to love playing it along with Brothers in Arms... it seemed to get THAT tone. It's just amazing that such a small amp sounds so BIG and beautiful.

Have service many of these over the years... they usually last forever with minor problems. When they do go... they take out a lot of amp section components. Not easy to repair then! However they do seem to be very reliable. Excellent solid construction.... weighs a ton and built like a tank.

It's small size and big sound make it truly a grab and go amp. While it doesn't have the warmth of tubes... it's still sounds great...chorus effect really shines. Never played it through a big cabinet but have heard they sound REALLY BIG! For an amp of it's size, it really is unblievable that it puts out so much volume and tone.
