Features : 10
2004 GK SBX series 4x10 bass cab. It's got nice casters & heavy duty side handles. 4 10 in. GK speakers and an adjustable horn(for higher frequencies). Black carpet covering & steel grill with both Speakon and a 1/4 connectors on the back. I use this amp paired with either a GK 400RB IV or a Behringer BX300T bass head. The cab is rated at 400 watts...and is great for bar gigs band rehearsals ect... I'm really happy with this cab, and it's great for rock/funk/punk/metal/blues/progressive...it can do just about anything. I play a couple of four string basses through this cab.

Sound Quality : 9
As far as sound goes, this cab handles the low E string of my active MusicMan SUB or G&L SB-2 quite well...I haven't played any 5 or 6 string basses through this cab yet, so I can't comment on how well it would handle a low B string. It's got a very punchy sound and it projects well. I can hear myself easily over a hard hitting drummer. I used to have a GK 400RB 1x15 combo and a Fender BXR 200 and this SBX 4x10 cab and GK or Behringer head combination blows the boxy sounding combo amps away. Try this cab out if you're looking for something nicer than the Hartke VX series, yet don't have the $$$ for a pricey Eden or Mesa Boogie cab. I compared this cab with a Fender Bassman 400 4x10 cab, a few Ampeg 4x10's and the GK was the favorite for me(I liked the Mesa 4x10 cab too but it was a little out of my budget)

Reliability : 10
This 4x10 is very solidly built. It's been up and down many steps & shoved in the back seat of many cars(yes it will fit in a 4 door compact Saturn, Sunfire, Civic ect...). It weighs a little more than I thought it would (92-93 lbs.), but it's on wheels so it isn't too bad. It's not like it's an 8x10 monster cab.

Customer Support : 10
I haven't had to deal with Gallien Krueger's customer support before because I've never had ANY problems with GK equipment(and this SBX cab isn't my first GK purchases). They build'em like tanks. Before I bought this cab, I did make sure that there was a GK service center in my immediate area, and that's "just in case"

Overall Rating : 10
I'll give the SBX 4x10 a 10 rating because it not only sounds great, it's built very well, and it doesn't cost a fortune. Playing bass is so much more fun when you have a good amp/cab setup. Both of my basses really sound punchy and alive through this cab. It's great for many styles rock/punk/funk/metal ect...If you can only afford 1 cab I'd recommend a good 4x10, and this SBX fits the bill.
