70's built amp. Very versatile all clean channels but when you run effects through it watch out it will smoke any new amp. Use this amp at home, on stage and in studio. Lots of power 50 watts, all tube point to point wiring.

This amp is so sweat it is not funny how smooth and clean it is. Sounds amazing with any guitar. No noise at all. No distortion but who needs it when you have a couple of good old analog mxr's or tube screamer's which every musician uses. Suits all styles of music.

You can still get service and advice from Gars in Winnipeg where it was built. You can ship to him and he will look at it if there is a problem. I just use a local amp pro and that is just fine.

Been playing for 20 years, I own two Traynor's which are great and kill Fender and Marshall's. If it was stolen I would be royally pissed off. I love everything about it. Can't compare it to other products because there is nothing out there like it.

Amp from the 70's. Two channels, and both are clean, no distortion at all which is fine this amp was made to play clean and when you run the right effects through it is so amazing. Great Jazz and blues amp. Reverb is incredible and the speaker is amazing. The tubes are excellent and 30 years later still one of the best amps out there.

I am using the amp for acid jazz, funk, soul style music. The amp is not noisy at all. The tremelo and depth effects are cool and I can get a cool British style sound if I push the amp loud enough and of course depending on the guitar I am using.

This amp is 30 years old and still built like a tank. Been on the road, never a problem. It is Canadian made, hand-built, and a lot of care was put into these amps by Gars Gilles out in Winnipeg. Tubes are still ticking and so warm and awesome.

Well, anytime I have needed anything I take it to Tortice Blues at Encore Music locally here in Toronto, but if I had to send it out to Winnipeg I am sure Gars would have a look at it. The company has been defunct for years but www.garnetamps.com is still a great resource and there are a bunch of owners who care and can help. This is a tube amp just like other tube amps that can be repaired. You want a 1-800# buy a Yamaha, Peavey or Marshall but if you want a true 70's well built piece of history by a Garnet if you can find one.

Made in the early 70's, it's a really well built, solid, great amp. Rather spartan controls, vol-treble-bass-trem speed-intensity-and reverb. But that's fine with me, because i use all of the controls ! Plenty of power.

Great with my fender strat and SG special (P-90's) noise is about as expected good variety of sounds, great 'verb and trem ... great drive starts at about 10'oclock and gets nasty (with the P-90's) at about 2 o'clock. Great blues overdrive!

I've been playing for over 30 years and i've owned everything from Marshall stacks to fender combo's to silvertones ... I've settled onthe 1X12 combo as my rig of choice now because of portability. This rig is as close to my BF Deluxe Reverb as anything i've tried at 1/4 the price !!

I bought this amp because I was looking for a unique sound. It has the basic features I was looking for in a small tube amp: 2 channels, tremolo and reverb. I was told it's a 22 watt amp, which isn't quite enough for live gigs, but great for recording. You can get a very nice overdrive at very low volumes. The speaker that came with it seems to break up a little too quickly and is VERY bright. In fact, I may replace the speaker with a better one for more headroom, it's a hard amp to get good clean tones at higher volumes.

I play a Discovery 335 copy and a Danelectro XII through boss pedals, mainly playing a brand of neo-psychedelic / New Wave rock. This amp sounds really good for that garagey 60's sound, with enough brass in the mid-range to punk up nicely. It runs very quietly, but doesn't handle effects very well, so I mainly use it for its overdrive, and use my Fender 85 for effects. The tremelo on the amp is nice and deep and can get really slow (which is cool), the reverb sounds strange, with a shorter decay than most amps. The overdrive has a nice raspy edge to it, especially in the bright mode... and this amp can get VERY bright!

So far, this amp is dependable (I've only had it for two weeks), but I do have the Fender as a back-up...just in case.

I've been playing guitar for 15 years and have owned all kinds of weird amps, this one being the most recent and distinctive. If it were stolen I think I'd be pissed I were out of $250, but that's about it. I love the tremelo and the reverb. I really like the overdrive, it's very musical; lots of overtones (the feedback is incredible). I don't like the speaker it came with (I'm sure it's not stock), but that's easily fixed. I wish the amp were 40-50 watts instead of 22, just to give that much more for gigs, but it records well, so what are you gonna do? I'd recommend this amp to lovers of 60's garage or punk tones.

Very similar to revolution I, but witha n additional channel (clean) knobs go across as such, 2 inputs (hi/Low) vol, treble, bass, 2 inputs (hi/low) vol, mid, treble, bass, speed, depth, reverb, master. I tried it out at a shop, (already owna revolution one,m whichi s the tremolo reverb channel without the additional clean channel...) all tube 2 6l6 tubes and 3 12ax7's 2 12au7's

Sounds almost exactlylike my REv I, at least teh trem channel does, the clean channel was kind of blah... NOt very responsive and kinda muddy. BUT in the defence of the amp it was in pretty rough shape and did Have some funky probelms that made it the sort of thing you look at but don't buy...
altogoether though, the trem channel sounds nice and punchy and it distorts a bit if you drive it hard. played it witha PRS custom 24 and got a lot of nice tones out of it, too bad it was in such rough shape. rating is for the amp... i would seperately rate the trem channel at 8 and the clean at 3

My rev I seems rocks olid, but this rev II was pretty rough... again though, it looked pretty mistreated.. My rev was sitting in someones basement for 20 years by the looks of it, this rev II had beer stains and crud all over it (white tolex, looked DISGUSTING) so it has probably had a hard life... lesson learned, don't forget to check out the condition of the tolex and grill cloth, they can show you how and amp has been treated.
again, rating is for this amp, which was pretty rough... I've seen other Garnet's in nicer condition.

I didn't buy it... in good shape it might be a cool amp (especially sincei i like the REv I i play so much!) but n it's condition it would be a can of worms to guess what had to be repaired.
probably a great amp in it's day... but in need of restoration
