I have three electric guitars i play through the devil, ibanez artist 1980, yamaha pacifica 1221 with dimarzio d-sonic pickup(great pickup) and a prs(student edition, could not afford a real one, maybe some day). anyhoot i mainly play jam band type music now, but have played alot of metal and punk stuff in the past. i beleive alot of peaple get the hype that this is a metal monster based on the video clip genz benz offers, i have to go the outher way i think the distortion is to muddy for metal stuff.but this amp is no low budget piece, i love the clean channel (vintage mode) master at 10 and the gain at 10, great breakup!!!! the outher thing i love about this beast is the eq, it's very sensitive, you want a little mid or bass just turn the knob and you will notice a difference.

I just got my 100 C El Diablo yesterday in a trade. Please understand that I'm "old school" and ever since the late 60's/early 70's I pretty much have been a solid state guy with out much desire or interest in tube amps. But this El Diablo changes everything with 2 channels and various other tricks is a great amp. It has 3 effects loops, 100w/50w switching and things I'll have to go back to college to figure out. It has enough flexibility to make even the most finicky guitarist smile. Even an old solid state guy. This clearly isn't a Crate or Beringer with lots of gimmicks. This is one amazing amp that will showcase YOU.

Regardless of the style you play or venue from 40's music to today, you can, with a few tweeks, achieve ANY kind of sound you want, be it gruff leads or clean rhythms you have it all at your fingertips with crazy volume or more subdued at the 50w settings. And the back of the speaker cab comes off for less lows. This is a very quiet amp. I am mostly using a Carvin CT6M with this amp.

I might take a solid state amp as a back up just because this Genz Benz is a tube amp (just kidding, you tube guys). Hey, it has a 3 year warranty and is built like an aircraft carrier. It better be reliable.

Since I just got the amp I have no experience with customer service or the amp. But based on all I have read about this amp. Those facts alone provide good reason to get one.

I have been playing for 50 years and have played almost every style. Have all kinds of gear, but would very likely replace it if it would ever need replacing. I really like the ease of tweeking the tone but kinda wish it had a chorus, but then it would be a Beringer. Even if you are not in the market for an amp. Try this one out. You won't regret it.

Okay, I posted a while back (Bob) and have since had to use customer service. My foot switch began to short on me and I called G-B to get some direction. It was like I was talking to a buddy who fixes amps on the side. I was on hold for less than 1 minute and the customer service rep never passed me to someone else (punted). He not only got my problem fixed but he also set me up so I wouldn't have this problem again. They are very forthcoming about complaints they receive and what they are trying to do to fix the problems. You gotta love honesty in this day and age. I couln't ask for anything more.

This amp was made in 2005. The features on the El-Diablo are very user friendly and the manual gets right to the piont. The sound and power on this amp is nothing short of incredible. I am a gigging musician and have been playing for over 20 years.

I play Gibson Les Pauls, Paul Reed Smith, ESP, and a Taylor 314CE from time to time. We mostly play alt-rock, a little more on the heavy side (Godsmack and Alice in Chains) as well as the Foo-Fighters type stuff. My old amp was a Marshall TSL-122 and my tone kept getting lost in my other guitar players Mesa Duel recto. The Marshall just couldn't keep up with that kind of heavy bottom distortion. The Marshall clean was far superior to the Mesa though, so I stuck with it for years. This amp gave me the best of both worlds. The clean, especially on the vintage setting, was sparkling and gave a nice chunk with a sharp pick attack. The distorted or hot side not only kept up with the Mesa, but I think it surpassed it because the tone can be shaped. The sound sold me. If I could give it an 11 I would.

No problems yet. This thing is built like a tank and weighs the same as one. The footswitch wire appears to be heavy enough to withstand gigging. My Marshall footswitch failed on a regular basis and the cat-hair wire they use was finally replaced by en electronics tech friend of mine. I do not play with a back-up.

3 year warranty. Four places in my state that service the amp if anything goes wrong. My only dealing with customer support was when I fired off an e-mail to the company telling them how much I like the amp and got a reply within 2 days from Jeff Genzler. Not a canned response, but a real response. Very impressive.

This may be the holy grail of amps if you want to play hard rock. Don't buy the hype that only the big names are making great amps. I looked at Diezel, Soldano, Mesa, Peavy XXX, and Vox, before I found this. Great deal, better sound, get it before the price goes through the roof. Well worth a listen if you are an experienced musician. I would recommend this amp to anyone looking for an amp that has a clean side like heaven and a dirty side like hell. You will have the best of both worlds.

Awesome! Four extremely usable channels- Clean, Vintage Clean, Hot and Hotter. Has effects loops for the clean and hot sides and "global" - does not work nearly as well as I would like it to. more on that in a minute.

Very quiet amp on all the settings. Have only tried it in a rehearsal setting so far but it flat out walks on everybody without breathing hard. It has a very 3d quality to it. The cleans almost sound like a grand piano (Strat, neck position) the distortion side of the house (Knofler with the Strat, every other metal and rock sound you can think of with my 'bucker loaded Schecter) Tons of headroom. The reverb is actually quite nice. Something called "pan reverb"- very cool.

Have only had it for about a month, but it is very heavily contructed (93 lbs!!!!) and it seems like it would hold up, no problem.

Three year warranty. Only emailed them once to tell them how pleased I was with my purchase and they responded within 12 hours with a nice response (ie. not canned), so it looks very promising. Everybody that I know that has had dealings with them seemed very pleased. (ahh customer service, finally!)

All in all I can safely say this amp is probably the last amp I will buy- except maybe another Genz-Benz! The best sounding amp I have ever played through. Only wish that the effects loops worked a little better (could simply have been my pedals) The upside is you really dont need any pedals (still miss my delay, does work fine when you put it in the regular chain but I really like the "feel" I get with this amp when hooking directly in.) Call me anal, but most pedals just seem to cut the smallest amount of treble response and it drives me nuts. I have never come across anything that floored my like this thing does. The sound, again- is amazing. Made me buy it on the spot.

This was built in 2004, this amp is loaded with great features! It has two channels it has a 50/100 watt output selection, 3 effects loops, reverb, 2 12 speakers and a ton of other things i can list! I use this amp for weddings on the weekends and other gigs also. This is one kick butt amp it has four power tubes(EL34 ruby tubes) and three preamp tubes (12ax7). Also the El Diablo is a showpiece it looks awesome it lights the stage up blue!

I use this amp with a parker fly guitar, it suits my music style, this amp is very clean( i mean clean) you can go from clean to santana seamlessly. The tubes produce a very warm sound, the distortion is breathtaking.

With any tube amp you should take the normal precautions. Hasn't broke yet and dont plan on seeing it break. It is 100% dependable and i dont believe there is too many amps i would even consider a backup after playing this beast.

I have been playing for about 20 yrs, i have other peavey amps and numerous guitars. If this amp were stolen I wouldnt want to meet the person who stole it! (I would immediatly get another) I love the warmness the punch and the look! I have compared it to Mesa, peavey. hafler, vox and cant say they were even in the same league. I wish it had chorus but nothing a pedal cant fix.

This amp is 2004 model and I just got it from the Guitar Attic in Daytona Bch, FL one week ago. I was on my way to buy Boogie Triple recto and stopped by the shop and heard a guy playing through it and it blew me away. I have never heard a 212 combo amp sound so BIG and clear and even with heavy gain. The amp has so many options to choose from it makes able to get just about any sound you could want. It has 2 channels a spanking clean that also has vintage switch that gives you a nice warm tone while still being clean. The Hot channel is unreal it's fat as hell and can go from a nice old tweed overdrive to a all out boogie killer. Also it has a compressor switch and a Globle Attack gain switich that works well as a lead boost. One thing that sets this amp apart from any amp I tryed is that the EQ works, when you turn a know you hear it. The amp can use either use EL34's or 6L6's all at a click of a on board switch. Its comes with 4 EL34's and 3 12AX7's and they use some new reverb that they invented but I don't use reverb so I have no comment on it. It has 3 effects loops one for clean only one for Hot only and one for both channels. This was a well thought out amp and I played it in a club the other night and I had a bunch of other players asking me what kind of amp I was using. They said it sounded real full out front and they thought I was playing a 4/12 cabinet since it was so big sounding. They saw it up on stage but since it looked so cool with all the blue lights on it they thought it was stage effect and did't really work. Now they want one.

I play alot of different guitars but mainly old PRS's but I love the way my strat sounds though it. I never thought my strat could do drop D tuning and old Dio and sound as heavy as a humbucker. The heavy gain in this amp make is possible like never before. I play in couple of bands one is a modern rock band and the other is a dance band. The amps covers everything great from Santana to Seether, it also sounded great on Morris Day and Times Jungle Love. Oh one thing I have forget to say is that this thing is LOUD LOUD LOUD!! even when switching it to the 50 watt mode.
