Two 4 ohm stereo inputs, one 8 ohm mono.. enough to cover most situations. the ported design isn't just for show.. as others have noted, they have a pronounced effect on lows and low mids. this cab has punch for days.

Sound Quality : 10
I've had this cabinet for a long time, and it has been so good to me that i almost felt i owed it to the manufacturer to add my praise. you'll rarely find a cabinet that articulates like this one, especially the "soulful" solid mids and lows. the highs aren't harsh or overly bright, but if you're playing a brighter-than-average sounding amp through it there isn't any squashed tone. a lot of thought and effort went into this amps design in terms of sound quality vs. appearance or cost effectiveness, which is more than can be said for a lot of major enclosure manufacturers, and this is evident when you play through it.

Reliability : 10
I've had this cabinet and the genz benz el diablo 100 head for about 6 years now, and the only problem i've ever had was a blown fuse (in the head) from a lightning strike. never a single problem with the cabinet: it is at least as reliable as any other high end cab.

Customer Support : 10
i've never actually had to have customer support for the cabinet, but once when i was retubing the head i thoughtlessly disconnected the positive and negative cables that connect the reverb coil so i could remove the entire back plate, and then i couldn't remember which one went in which side. i sent an e mail to genz benz's customer service address from their site, and low and behold about 3 hours later jeff genzler himself replied very warmly with the instructions! total class. i wouldn't expect any less if it was an enclosure issue.

Overall Rating : 10
this cab might not be right for everyone, but it could be great for anyone. if you're in the market for a new cabinet, i suggest at least trying this one out before you make a final decision. i've heard several amps played through this cabinet immediately after having heard the same amp through other cabs, and the tonal quality has yet to be matched by all accounts. great tone, and very versatile.. i use this cabinet mainly for extreme metal and shred, but, like most guitarists, i'm occasionally taken by an urge to play some raunchy blues or jazz licks. i can always get this cabinet to produce a tone to rival that of any dedicated blues or jazz artist. if something ever happened to this cabinet, i wouldn't bother considering anything else.

I've been playing 5 years and I've played through many heads and 412 cabs including Mesa,Marshall,Peavey,Crate, and this cab rules all of them,in comparison the most highly touted 412 cabs pale versus this cab,do yourself a favor and check this cab out,it's a sleeper,it's a monster, and then it's as sweet as a newborn baby.I won't play through another again,my band loves it,we will all play the G-Flex now!

4 X 12 with Genz Benz labeled speakers.
I got it as a trade-in for guitars.
Condition was 8.0 out of 10. mostly vinyl damamge to back.

Sound Quality : 10
Incredible hoomph! and Thump!
Clean mids and highs.
Actually as good as the top of the line Mesa-Boogie.
Blows any & all Marshalls away!

Reliability : 10
Worked good. So good that my first serious cusotmer bought it off the sales floor after a 5 minute demo.

Customer Support : 10
Unknown, Great reputation.

Overall Rating : 9
Sounded fantaatic! Wish I had one for me, but I don't play rock anymore so it would be a waste of space.
Downside = Heavy weight. Much heavier than my Carvin 4 x 12". Actually too heavy for me to transport safely even with a hand truck. I would have kept it for the sound if it wasn't such a beast to move.

The G-Flex caught my eye a long time ago and I needed a cab to go with the matching El Diablo 100 Head I now own. The cab has 4 ported subwoofers underneath that increase low-end thump and resonance.

Sound Quality : 10
Make no mistake about it, this cabinet is HUGE! And I'm not just referring to the size of the thing, (over three feet high with the included casters). The tone is insanely filled with headroom. But it's not just designed for mad thumping low-end stuff. Play clean through it, and it purrs like a kitten. A lot of how the cabinet responds is going to depend a great deal on what guitars, pedals and amp(s) that you run through it.

Yes, I know, that's true for all amps and cabinets. But with this one, there is a drastic change. It all sounds great, but you will notice an immediate difference in tone color, speaker movement pattern and soundscaping just by switching guitars or pedals. It's that important. The biggest factor is how your amp sounds. I run the matching El Diablo head through it and it gives me unparalleled versatility just because of how nice that head is and the way I've got it set up. Like anything, you just have to toy with it.

Reliability : 10
Haven't owned it that long. But I've heard that Genz Benz has a tremendous customer service reputation, not to mention the fact that I have an authorized dealer right downtown, in case of any problems. Haven't gigged it yet, but once I get to college, you betcha.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them, but again, I hear Jeff Genzler himself answers their phone all the time, and they're very helpful.

Overall Rating : 10
Do yourself a favor and buy this cabinet. I've tried tons of them, including a very nice hot-rodded Marshall 1960 with a custom white grille and tan leather job, an incredible Trace Elliot, (God, I wish they still made those), a Mad Sound, which I own, (it's just a little 2x10" cab with only one speaker in it, what they call a "detuned cab," you'd be very surprised how incredibly loud it sounds), Peaveys, Crates, Fenders, and this one tops them all. Every single one.

Don't be deterred by the high price. It is up there in Mesa/Boogie and Bogner range, but it is worth every penny, I promise you! I would trade Eddie Van Halen's original Marshall stack for this sucker.

I've had this cab for a couple of weeks now and at every gig i've done it has performed perfectly. It can handle anything, it's very versitile. However, the wheels that come with this cab are shocking. Therefore I can't give it a 10.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a Gibson Explorer Gothic with Seymour Duncan JB and Jazz pickups and an ESP Eclipse with EMG 81/60. I have a couple of pedals (Visual Sound, MXR, Dunlop etc) and an ENGL POWERBALL amp. I did have a Marshall cab in which I upgraded the speakers to celestion vintage 30's and I thought that sounded pretty good. That was until I plugged in the Genz Benz. Wow. Very tight bottom end, smooth mids and the most projection from any cab I've ever herd. It really is fantastic.

I re-valved my POWERBALL with Electro Harmonix tubes ( 4 x 6L6GC and 3 x 12AX7EH and 1 x 5751 in position 4 in the preamp) which has made a big difference. I always knew that the Electro Harmonix valves had better punch and it really shows through with this cab.

Reliability : No Opinion
Haven't had it long enough to find out about reliability yet. I think I'll invest in better wheels though.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
This cab is fantastic. Its better than all the Mesa, Marshall, Bogner, Randall and Engl cabs I've herd. Go and get one!!

Can run it at about any ohm setting. It is very flexable.

Sound Quality : 10
This cab sounds amazing. Huge low end and crunch. No farting with this cab! The mids are perfect with a bell-like high end. I run a Krank Revolution through it at 8 ohm mono w/ my Schecter Scorpion Bartone w/ a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge position tuned in drop A. I also use a ESP H-1000 Deluxe with a Seymour Duncan JB at the bridge tuned normal. It sounds fantastic with the head. The only effect I run is a chorus which simplifies things live since I also sing in my metal band.

Reliability : 10
It has never let me down yet. Sounds great every time.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had a problem yet. It seems to be made very well accept for the squeaky crappy wheels on the bottom that drove me insane. I took those off and put it on an amp isolation riser. Wow. It sounds gigantic!

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for 12 years and this is the best cabinet I have ever had. I had a Peavey Triple XXX cabinet which sounded pretty ok, but not near as good as the genz benz. It is a bit pricey though. Usually around $950.00. You definetly get what you pay for though with this amp.

Best Cabinet I have ever played through. Perfect for any stlyle of music (but best for Metal!! \m/). Very big sound, well defined and tight. Will cut through the mix! Have played through it with a Line6 HD147, a Marshall JCM 900, and a Marshall JCM 800 Zakk Wylde signature. Just outstanding.

Reliability : 10

Had a problem with the 8 ohm Mono jack. Emailed them and got a reply from Jeff Genzler. After several more e-mails back and forth and reveiwing it with his tech, it was determined that the jack was not closing completely. Since there are no dealers or authorized service centers where I live, he sent me out a replacement jack plate. Replaced the jack in less then 10 minutes and it works perfectly.

I can't emphasize enough how important this type of personal customer service is. It's something that other companies should take a lesson from.

Overall Rating : 10
I will never buy another cabinet, period.

This is a follow up after I ran into a problem with the cab. The wire that carries the current to the voice coil in the speaker snapped off at the voice coil, and the speaker was no longer functional. I emailed genz-benz and exchanged a few questions and answers with Jeff Genzler himself before calling him on the phone and fully explaining the situation. I shipped the speaker to genz-benz and they sent me a brand new speaker promptly. A pleasing experience from an unpleasant circumstance.

4x12 cab loaded with custom genz benz 12's, from what I hear they are modeled after vintage 30's. Front ported design w\baffles to spread the sound out. 8 ohm mono, 2 4 ohm stereo inputs, extension out.

Sound Quality : 10
I have a Peavey triple xxx head that I was running through a Marshall 1960b cab. The amp sounded awesome through that, but through my g-flex it's like an entirely new amp! This thing sounds amazing, the low-end is tight and pronounced with no woofing. The mids are smooth and it has a real nice high end to it. The clarity I get out of this cab is amazing, I never thought a cab could sound this good. Imho this is the best cab out there.

it's new, but seems to be built like a tank, shouldn't have any issues

I compared this to my Marshall cab obviously, but when I went to the store to get it I also tried out a standard recto 4x12. The recto cab sounded really good, but after playing through the g-flex there was no contest. This is truly the best cab I have ever played through. I highly recommend this cab to anyone.

Stereo or mono operation. I like the casters because you can remove them with no tools. Wire grill cover looks good and is solid. Very nice looking cab, as far as that goes.

Sound Quality : 10
This is where it counts, of course, the sound of the cab. In my opinion, this thing has excellent tone. I sold a Peavy 412MS to get this cab, and I wasn't dissapointed. It sounds 10 times as good as the Peavey. Clean tones are lovely and ring like a bell, and crunch tones are powerful and responsive. Simply lovely tone through the entire frequency response. I'll never sell this cab!! I use a Genz Benz El Diablo 100 head with it, and it sounds AWESOME!! I've finally found a rig I'm satisfied with. (it only took 3 years)

Reliability : 10
No problems.

Customer Support : 10
I emailed Genz Benz with a question and got a quick response from Jeff Genzler himself. I like this kind of customer support!

Been playing for over 10 years. I play a Gibson Les Paul Standard mostly, and occasionally a Strat. Both sound great through this cab. This cab matches the El Diablo head very well. (a GREAT head!) I can't imagine getting any better tone from a half-stack of any brand whatsoever. I love it and plan to keep it.

I like the versitilty of stereo operation. It has the sickest lowend for metal and the best classic bite and clean ring I have ever used. I also used this cab as a bass cab just for kicks and it SLAMMED!

Sound Quality : 10
I use a Les Paul standard flame and a Peavey Wolfgang through an EL Diablo 100. This cab is perfect for this amp. You can't get a cab that will sound better than this. It will make you think you are playing 2 4x12 cabs! I would take it over the Recto's any day. Crisp and clean! LOW END TO SPARE!!

Built VERY well. I also tested the ohm load and it is dead on specs. I would never think of buying anything else.

Best I have seen!

2003 model. dealer said that mine came from the naam show. 300 watts, flexed baffle, 4 bass ports, birchwood, metal grill. 8 ohm mono, 4 ohm/ch stereo, plus a mono out. guess that's all you'd need anyway.

Sound Quality : 10
I play an Ibanez RG-520 w/ EMG-81/60 b/n. I run a POD 2.0 through the tubeworks 1500 power amp. i play hard rock with some cleans, and with the POD, i can make the cab sound any way i want, like anything else i want. i especially like the flexed baffle and the way it spreads the sound. you can be basically stand anywhere and still hear it great, much to the delight of my parents :)

Reliability : 10
seems pretty sturdy to me. the metal grill on the front feels very solid. it's a cab.

Customer Support : 10
Every time I emailed genz-benz about either the power amp or this cab, i got a reply back within the next day, and sometimes the same day. Their responses always answered my questions. Good ppl.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for 5 years and I recently got shacked up with a few other guys in a band. The 2x12 combo farted out like a madman and I had to do something about it. I scoped this baby out for about 4 months before I got it. I compared it to a Mesa Recto 412 standard, and the g-flex won to my ears. As I said before, the POD lets you do anything with it. I've changed so many settings on the POD to get different sounds out of the cab... it's just amazing. And remember, never underestimate the tone controls on your guitar.

This is a new 2003 Genz Benz G-Flex 4x12 George Lynch signature guitar cabinet that is built of Birch plywood and comes with the GBE 1240-V75 speakers I believe they are 75 watts per speaker being that the cab will handle 300 w/mono...This cabinet is ported on the bottom for a big low end feel. You also get casters but be carefull not to pinch yourself when inserting them to the clamps on the bottom, I came very close! I also purchased the cover that has enough padding to protect it from the weekend gigs going in and out of my car, and it does come with some hevier weight than my other cabs so keep that in mind! You can run this cab in mono or stereo from the back plate that lets you go 8 ohms mono (don't know why it was made different from the G-Flex 2x12 that is 16 ohms mono!?) or 2 / 4ohm outputs for stereo plus the mono extention jack and yes! George Lynch's autograph on the back!......For features I'm very please with what is offered!

I use this cabinet for live gigs and in my home studio, compared it to 3 other cabinets that I own: Marshall basket weave with greenbacks / Hiwatt cabinet with the old fane speakers / Mesa Boogie 4x12 Standard with vintage 30's.....I also have the G-Flex 2x12

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using a Tom Anderson Cobra for guitar and a Soldano SLO head/ Hughes and Kettner-TriAmp MKII head. I play many different styles and this cab really captures my sound better that any cabinet I've come across! sure the Marshall has that vintage sound but to me lacks the clarity for the country clean stuff! The Hiwatt really kills in the bottom end category but can't get into the brittle high end that I get from the speakers and the boogie sounds good but sometimes I think it has a blanket over the front.....The G-flex 4x12 is a combination of all 3 cabs without the blanket! Great bottom end response that just gets bigger when cranking it up! It's got great clarity and believe that the front loaded speaker has something to do with that in your face feel!

The speakers sound great! very creamy with a blend of greenback and vintage 30 in one plus having great clarity to a rich bottom end and a fast response with none of that upper high end earbleeding sizzle that I've heard many cabs do and no matter what you do you can't get rid of it!
The one thing I noticed is the farther back you get the bigger it sounds, it doesn't get thin or lose any charecter that some of the other cabs that I've own did! that's great to have when your playing out!

Reliability : 10
I've had the 2x12 version for 2 years with no problems and hope I have the same luck with the 4x12....

Customer Support : 10
Had some concerns before I purchased the cabinet and was able to talk dirrectly with Jeff Genzler! can't get much better than that!
Thanks Jeff......

The cab was made this year (2003) because it's the first year of the model. I got this cab because I loved my G-Flex 2x12 and always wished they made a 4x12. Now I have both! The only mechanical difference I notice between this cab and at least my G-Flex 2x12 (not sure if the new ones for 2003 are like this) is that the new one doesn't have a 16ohm mono option.

Don't understand why the title for this cab says "412" when the only review is for a 2x12 G-Flex, though... :)

Sound Quality : 9
I play this cab with my VHT UltraLead and various Les Pauls (Customs, R7 Goldtop, Standard Mahogany) with various pickups. Think of it like the 2x12 version, but more of it. It has the tightest, pounding bass I've ever felt in a 4x12. It doesn't boom at all, but you feel the bass more than hear it. It's tough to explain. I thought the 2x12 was great in that regard, but this is even better. Mids are nice and crunchy and the highs are smooth. I've always dug the Genz Benz speaker a bit more than the V30, which is what it is supposed to be trying to emulate. They messed up and made a better, smoother, fuller speaker, IMHO... ;)

My band plays Metal. Not necessarily a modern sound, but it is contemporary with more melodic-type leanings. We use standard tuning and drop-d at most. A very tight, punchy cab is extremely important to me. I got rid of a Marshall 1960AV for this cab.

The 2x12 projects extremely well for a 2x12, but it still can't compare with a 4x12, particularly it's own bigger brother.

Reliability : 10
My 2x12 G-Flex has never pooped out on me. I suspect this won't, either. Actually... I've never had any cab go bad.

Customer Support : 10
Genz Benz support is amazing. I've never had problems with them, but I have asked them several questions over the last two years and *always* got responses from Jeff Genzler himself.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing about 17 years. If something happened, I'd easily get another one without a second though. The 2x12 is for smaller gigs, the 4x12 is for bigger ones. I was very, very happy when I saw Genz Benz came out with this cab. You have no idea. I chose this because I loved the 2x12 so much and knew this one would cut it.

I have a mockingbird supreme and Mesa dual rectifier head. I prevouslly had a mesa 2x12 recto cab and liked it very well also. Unlike some of the other reveiws I though they were very similar in sound. You get a really big sound with them both. Only negative I can say is that it is alittle big for a 2x12 but it does have really cool handles on the top corners to carry it with so it equals out. The mesa cab was heavier and only had one handle on top wich made it much harder to carry and it was so heavy I was afraid the soft leather handle would break (never did though). Great cab, I don't miss lugging around a 4x12 at all. It maybe doesn't have the coolness factor of a 4x12 but that doesn't matter to me. I don't think you can get a better 2x12 cab than this.

Reliability : No Opinion
Seems well built. Not much to go wrong unless you blow it up.

Been playing 20+ years, already listed my gear above. If stolen I would buy it again. I didn't know any one who owned one and orderd it based on the reviews here and some research. I'm really glad I did. It doesn't matter but it is kind of cool to have something everyone else doesn't have (guess thats why I own a B.C. Rich). If you can't get one you won't go wrong with the Recto cab either.
